Here in the UK, concert organisers recoup their investment from sale of ticket, alcohol and food. Concert goers expect alcohol at the event, otherwise they wouldn’t go.
If i told my British friends that in Mauritius, Avinash Tiplok banned sale of alcohol at concerts, they would laugh and write off Mauritius as a touristic destination. And my friends are not young people fresh out of uni. They are in their mid-30’s and work. They go to many concerts, including reggae ones in the summer.
Are non-chatwa catholics (creoles) still allowed to organise concerts in Mauritius??? This, i would really like to know because we are now bordering on discrimination of my people. 🤬
