🎉🎉 846 finally! I filed on February 9th with EITC this past Tuesday finally got my transcript available along with a 971 and 570 codes (in this order) for the same day March 18th. This morning my transcript updated to a 571 and the magical ✨️ 846🎉 for March 11. So I will get my refund even before I see any of those notices I was supposed to receive by the 18th. Ok. I have a good update to report. If you saw my post from earlier this week, I was one of the ones reporting that I filed on 1/28, return accepted on 1/29, but was getting the 570/971 with two different dates of 3/4 and 3/11. So, I called IRS on Wednesday and was told that it would take up to 120 days for the IRS to review withholdings and income. Needless to say, I was discouraged. Well, I checked transcript a few moments ago and thank God, refund will be issued on March 6! Hope everyone else gets good news soon!
Us early filers are screwed for the most part. A lot of us got put in errors. I’m in the same boat since 1/26 “accepted” with no updates and N/A transcripts. IRS just gives me the 10 week wait bs. Shocker that’s the week before tax day. They are going to have us wait as long as long as they can.
I have to agree with this comment. We saw early filers delayed last year, but I would say the numbers impacted this year are up. I always file around the 2-3 week of the tax season, and I filed about 2 weeks after you did, and received my refund in 10 days. . . . also, the return is not even considered a "simple return".
It’s crazy to me… no reason to have so many people put in errors for no reason at all. At least have the decency to help us and pull us out of errors. They also have the audacity to say “there’s nothing we can do till 10 weeks, until then you’ll have to wait for a computer to fix it” do I sound that gullible?? lol yeah all humans are locked out of account at the mercy of the computers till 10 weeks. @@michaelcarra4080 well in 2022 there were over 17 million people who filed returns with errors- most errors actually are auto corrected by the IRS. Otherwise the alternative is having to file an amended return and definitely something you don't want to get through. But if there are errors someone must correct them.
Understood, I just wish this process to get an actual person to take the returns out of errors was not such nightmare that takes weeks of waiting, usually I’m very patient, but the handling of this whole thing has me so angry. Thanks for your videos btw. Having a better understanding and seeing I’m not alone has made this whole things just a bit better!
@michaelcarra4080- Thanks for watching! I completely agree with the whole process just needs to be re-done. It would help if the IRS stopped operating computers still running tech from the 1960's, and upgrades like many of the states it would go a long way for tax processing. The IRS computer system should have been replaced in the early 90's. I 100% why you and others are angry - especially with these same problems happening year after year, and no one taking the steps to correct the source of the issues. Please keep us posted I am hoping you and others see a resolution ASAP!
What’s funny about all these waiting games the irs plays on our refunds is that on their website it says that if you owe to pay right away and even if you can’t to make the effort to do so as soon as possible… ok and what quick effort are they doing to send those refunds out and stop with those stupid codes that just stress people 😡
Ok I have some information. I filed on 1/26 and was accepted Same day. I did have eitc so my refund was held due to the law. I spoked to the IRS this morning (3 Hour hold) there was a two week delay from February 22nd. Early filers may have a delay because they didn’t have the information they need (from your employer) two things may happen; a letter WAS sent or No letter was sent. If a letter was sent you have to wait to receive it. If no letter was sent you should update Friday (3/8/2024) you may want to call the irs to find out your exact path.
So I gave you an update yesterday about my tax return needing reprocessed and this morning my transcript finally updated to the 570 code which is more news than I had prior. No 971 or 571 codes present on my return
Thanks for the update! Well the best case scenario like we have seen with other viewers is after the next transcript update you see the 571 code and the 846 meaning your refund is being released. The next case scenario is the 570 & 971 codes with the same date indicating the IRS made an adjustment and the refund will be released within 30 days after that, and the last case you don't want to see is the 570 and 971 codes with different dates. Keep us posted.
On my transcript I had a 570 and today a 971. I did my return on Turbo Tax and it was accepted on 1/31. I took the standard deduction as I don’t have a lot of deductions. Frankly, I don’t understand their problem with my return unless I was “randomly” selected to delay my return.
We all got “Random “ and I was excepted 1/29. I have 570 and 971. For me I called today knowing what I know now and from the Reddit IRS group. Some had to verify , so did nothing and it cleared on its own etc. I’m a weekly cycle for mine. Today called IRS and I’m receive the good ol cp05 letter , this will just state I was random pulled for review and for third party review. I have to wait it out and nothing I can send in or do unless they ask. There is tons in same boat as me it’s insane.

I have the 570/971 code and was told that they are missing 1099r from employer . The employer sent them 1/26 and 1/31 after I filed. My best guess is that’s why I am on a hold. They hadn’t been processed yet. I sent supporting documents and all my math is correct. My employer said they won’t resend the 1099rs
yes this does happen a lot and is all but likely the cause of your delay. I am sure your employer did submit the 1099r and the IRS has still not processed it yet. What we ended up seeing last year was some viewers after waiting were asked by the IRS to submit the copy of the tax form in this case the 1099r they received so that processing could continue.

No transcript update! No IRS refund tracker update. Called stated I’m under review with no code being able to be given at this time. Everything is the same as the past three years. Except I have a second dependent born on 12/30/23
Without knowing anything else about your tax returns including when you filed - my guess is either the return is under review for wage/withholdings verification (very common this year), or it has to do with the fact a new dependent is being claimed and review of the credits in question.
Mine was they wanna make sure what my w2 and my boss info matches. 60 day hold. They said they are waiting for my boss to send in info. My boss sent in his part Jan 16th. So we will see. 3 out of the past 4 years ive had some kind of delay. One year i got a audit put on me we didn't see that refund until the next year

I thought what was really interesting was the viewer who filed their 2022 amended return last month, and has the refund set for next week. I had to see the transcript to believe it - yet there you are waiting and waiting.

Number of viewers who withdrew from the 401k reporting delays under the 570 code. My guess the system flagged it as not usual income, and requires someone to override the system so processing can continue.
Got a 570 2 Friday's ago, a 971 last friday... no letter, no notices on my account. Delayed message on wmr.. never had this kind of issue since I started filing a lonnnnng time ago 😢
What is the date of the 971 code? That is the date the IRS expects you will receive the letter. Some notices will not be electronically available in your account and only can be sent by mail.

I filed on 2/2 and the IRS accepted same day. I got the 570 and 971 codes for 3/18. Got the notice in the mail on 3/19, which told me nothing. My transcript hasn't updated since. I'm getting really tired of waiting.
Still too early for me to say that as of this moment. I need some more data to conclude. Of those reporting the stats so far are running about even. I'll recap it on Monday.

Still on a 570/971 dates are 3/4 and 3/11. Called the tax advocate and they said they are missing one of my w2. I contacted the owner of the company who confirmed my info on my 941 and reassured me he sent it in. Also one of my coworkers has already filed and received his. I am at a loss I don’t know what to do. Just keep getting told to wait and as everyone else I am in need of the money. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
We saw what you are going through happen a lot last year! The one thing we recommended that actually worked in a number of cases was the viewer offered to submit a copy of the w2 and year end paystubs to the IRS so that processing can continue, and other times it was the IRS who asked the viewer to submit the W-2 and paystubs. It seems to vary based on the IRS phone rep that takes the call.
If you can't reach anyone on the main IRS phone line, perhaps call the IRS line to schedule an appointment at your local IRS office and see if they can connect you to a phone rep or depending on the issue schedule an in person appointment which a lot more people are doing.
I filled on the 29th and it was accepted. Till date my bar hasn’t moved I checked my Tax transcript and I see N/A for 2023 on refund transcript. I check the account transcript tab for 2023 my tax transcript is empty under transactions. It says No tax return filled no cycle code and I have the 810 code Refund Freeze. Can someone help me please
expect 3/18 for your refund date. During the week you filed were 2 days that were considered the Holiday (Washington's Birthday on Thursday and that Friday is also observed for Holiday. So your refund wasn't officially processed until that following Monday 2/26. Starting that Monday starts your official 21 days. Meaning 3/18. So 2/26-3/4, 3/4-3/11, and 3/11-3/18. And 3/18 is one of the IRS official refund dates too.

I filed on 01/29/24 and I have codes 570 and 971 with the same dates of 03/04/24 for both, my transcript has not change and I have not received any letter. Does anyone have this issue and any information that can help 😕
Many of our viewers have - so if your seeing the codes with the same date the IRS has resolved any potential issues which will be outlined in the letter that you should receive this week. They expect you to receive it by 3/4 but that depends on USPS. The IRS will clear the refund at that point for release probably in 3-4 weeks.
@staceyharris4375 It can take up to March 4th for it to post to your account depending on the bank. Do confirm the right bank account number was entered. Page 2 of your tax form under the refund section.
I had to verify my identity and did already it’ll be 2 weeks Friday 3/9/24 why does it take so long after you clearly verify you are who you say. And all because I filed my texes early 🙄 won’t do that again…..anyone know an expectant date after a situation like mine? I hope it doesn’t take the full 9 weeks.

It can take up to 3 weeks to process your return if you filed electronically, or 4 to 6 weeks if you mailed your return. However, processing may take longer under certain circumstances. The day that sees the most transcript updates is Friday, followed by Tuesday. Updates depend on your transcript cycle code - which in your case you will not know until activity starts appearing on the transcript. Most have cycle codes ending in 05 which mean transcript updates on Friday morning, followed by WMR updates on Saturday morning.
I filed mine on 2-1 with the EITC. WMR still says still processing and my tax transcripts still says N/A. Called the IRS this morning and they keep telling me my account has a system error and to give it 10 weeks from the day I filed to get an update. Is this true? I received no letters in the mail. Remember i told you about my tax refund being held up. I have the 570 code and the date for that is March 4th. Then i have the 971 code and the date for that is March 11th. After digging into it again yesterday, i learned my state never reported my retirement account to the IRS. The state agency said they're not required to so they mever do. Then i learned from the IRS that it is required to be reported by the state. I did nothing wrong since I reported the income but the state did not. As of this time, i have notofied the Maine governors office and Maine senators about the matter and have notified them that i believe the state has committed tax evasion and is violating federal income reporting laws. I have notified the local news stations as well hoping theyll take it so the state of Maime gets called out for this illegal actovity.
My federal was accepted 1/29 My transcript updated with 570 with 3/4/2024 Then it updated 2/23 with 971 and date of 3/11 There was no update yesterday and I haven't received a notice
My sister filed taxes on Feb 20th and her refund hit the bank today, March 1st. Mine was filed on Feb 19th and mine still says received!! Code 152. Technically she filed a day later than me and got her return today. What is causing the problem? Why are some getting through and others in holding pattern??
in your case at the moment it would not be considered a problem, and that is because the IRS on average takes 21 days to process most returns and you are still within the normal waiting period. returns as we have seen do not get processed in order some will get through the system quicker then other. i would check your tax transcripts for further updates.

152 is normal tax processing code. You are still within the normal 21-day window so nothing to be concerned about at the moment. Make sure to check your tax transcripts. (Watch out Feb 4th video if you have not accessed those previously).

we generally do not cover state taxes. each state is different whether it is the rules or the systems they run and we have no where near the resources to cover all of the states that have an income tax.
Lol same happened to me, you have to call. Its probably just ID verification. It's really nothing to worry about, as you can take action on this situation. Some can verify by phone. Others have to visit their local irs office. It's happened to lots this year. Many refunds have froze due to ID verification this year. Unfortunately though if you have to visit the office. They make you wait until a letter has been issued and received. Then you must schedule an appointment. So the sooner you call the better. I wouldn't wait on an update from the irs. Namaste 😌🙌🏽

Because I called it got issued sooner, the wmr won't show it. And honestly I almost verified by phone, had my phone not died. I couldn't get back in touch with the same agent 🤦🏽. But other than that it's no stress 💪🏽

I have the 570/971 code and was told that they are missing 1099r from employer . The employer sent them 1/26 and 1/31 after I filed. My best guess is that’s why I am on a hold. They hadn’t been processed yet. I sent supporting documents and all my math is correct. My employer said they won’t resend the 1099rs
yes this does happen a lot and is all but likely the cause of your delay. I am sure your employer did submit the 1099r and the IRS has still not processed it yet. What we ended up seeing last year was some viewers after waiting were asked by the IRS to submit the copy of the tax form in this case the 1099r they received so that processing could continue.

Without knowing anything else about your tax returns including when you filed - my guess is either the return is under review for wage/withholdings verification (very common this year), or it has to do with the fact a new dependent is being claimed and review of the credits in question.

I’m at 11 months waiting for my amended form to even show up. Which is odd, given they found copies of that form in random places in their system.
I thought what was really interesting was the viewer who filed their 2022 amended return last month, and has the refund set for next week. I had to see the transcript to believe it - yet there you are waiting and waiting.

Number of viewers who withdrew from the 401k reporting delays under the 570 code. My guess the system flagged it as not usual income, and requires someone to override the system so processing can continue.

Got a 570 2 Friday's ago, a 971 last friday... no letter, no notices on my account. Delayed message on wmr.. never had this kind of issue since I started filing a lonnnnng time ago 😢
What is the date of the 971 code? That is the date the IRS expects you will receive the letter. Some notices will not be electronically available in your account and only can be sent by mail.

I filed on 2/2 and the IRS accepted same day. I got the 570 and 971 codes for 3/18. Got the notice in the mail on 3/19, which told me nothing. My transcript hasn't updated since. I'm getting really tired of waiting.

If the letter has not been sent - schedule an appointment at a local IRS and verify in person it will take just a couple minutes. Very easy.

I contacted the owner of the company who confirmed my info on my 941 and reassured me he sent it in. Also one of my coworkers has already filed and received his. We saw what you are going through happen a lot last year! The one thing we recommended that actually worked in a number of cases was the viewer offered to submit a copy of the w2 and year end paystubs to the IRS so that processing can continue, and other times it was the IRS who asked the viewer to submit the W-2 and paystubs. It seems to vary based on the IRS phone rep that takes the call.
How do you actually get a live person at the IRS? All I get when I call is the auto system....
If you can't reach anyone on the main IRS phone line, perhaps call the IRS line to schedule an appointment at your local IRS office and see if they can connect you to a phone rep or depending on the issue schedule an in person appointment which a lot more people are doing.

I filled on the 29th and it was accepted. Till date my bar hasn’t moved I checked my Tax transcript and I see N/A for 2023 on refund transcript. I check the account transcript tab for 2023 my tax transcript is empty under transactions. It says No tax return filled no cycle code and I have the 810 code Refund Freeze.

expect 3/18 for your refund date. During the week you filed were 2 days that were considered the Holiday (Washington's Birthday on Thursday and that Friday is also observed for Holiday. So your refund wasn't officially processed until that following Monday 2/26. Starting that Monday starts your official 21 days. Meaning 3/18. So 2/26-3/4, 3/4-3/11, and 3/11-3/18. And 3/18 is one of the IRS official refund dates too.

I filed on 01/29/24 and I have codes 570 and 971 with the same dates of 03/04/24 for both, my transcript has not change and I have not received any letter. Does anyone have this issue and any information that can help 😕
Many of our viewers have - so if your seeing the codes with the same date the IRS has resolved any potential issues which will be outlined in the letter that you should receive this week. They expect you to receive it by 3/4 but that depends on USPS. The IRS will clear the refund at that point for release probably in 3-4 weeks.

I had to verify my identity and did already it’ll be 2 weeks Friday 3/9/24 why does it take so long after you clearly verify you are who you say. The day that sees the most transcript updates is Friday, followed by Tuesday. Updates depend on your transcript cycle code - which in your case you will not know until activity starts appearing on the transcript. Most have cycle codes ending in 05 which mean transcript updates on Friday morning, followed by WMR updates on Saturday morning.

Remember i told you about my tax refund being held up. I have the 570 code and the date for that is March 4th. Then i have the 971 code and the date for that is March 11th. After digging into it again yesterday, i learned my state never reported my retirement account to the IRS. The state agency said they're not required to so they mever do. Then i learned from the IRS that it is required to be reported by the state. I did nothing wrong since I reported the income but the state did not. As of this time, i have notofied the Maine governors office and Maine senators about the matter and have notified them that i believe the state has committed tax evasion and is violating federal income reporting laws. I have notified the local news stations as well hoping theyll take it so the state of Maime gets called out for this illegal actovity.

My sister filed taxes on Feb 20th and her refund hit the bank today, March 1st. Mine was filed on Feb 19th and mine still says received!! Code 152. Technically she filed a day later than me and got her return today. What is causing the problem? Why are some getting through and others in holding pattern??
in your case at the moment it would not be considered a problem, and that is because the IRS on average takes 21 days to process most returns and you are still within the normal waiting period. returns as we have seen do not get processed in order some will get through the system quicker then other. i would check your tax transcripts for further updates.

152 is normal tax processing code. You are still within the normal 21-day window so nothing to be concerned about at the moment. Make sure to check your tax transcripts. (Watch out Feb 4th video if you have not accessed those previously).

All these videos are about federal what bout state tax updates luckily I received my federal already
we generally do not cover state taxes. each state is different whether it is the rules or the systems they run and we have no where near the resources to cover all of the states that have an income tax.
Tax topic 152 means you are getting refund. Also means you are getting refund with direct deposit
846 is the refund release code. 152 is just a tax processing topic code.

Lol same happened to me, you have to call. Its probably just ID verification. It's really nothing to worry about, as you can take action on this situation. Some can verify by phone. Others have to visit their local irs office. It's happened to lots this year. Many refunds have froze due to ID verification this year. Unfortunately though if you have to visit the office. They make you wait until a letter has been issued and received. Then you must schedule an appointment. So the sooner you call the better. I wouldn't wait on an update from the irs. Namaste 😌🙌🏽

Because I called it got issued sooner, the wmr won't show it. And honestly I almost verified by phone, had my phone not died. I couldn't get back in touch with the same agent 🤦🏽. But other than that it's no stress 💪🏽
