Whoever decided that it would be a good idea to combine verbena with irones (Bourdon) is a genius. 😄 It's the crispness that many of the clones just can't capture. Rasasi's Egra comes damn close though. Spring almost in the air!
Absolutely, it's those fine margins that separates is from the geniuses like him
My favourite fragrance of all time. An expertly executed, masterfully balanced and blended perfume that ticks all the right boxes. Cracking review!

Wore GIT last March the 1st on instinct, wore it today after learning of the tradition! Happy GIT day, Duck! Wore Enchanted Forest for my Feb. 29th SOTD!

Insightful. I love GIT, I own it, but I can live without it. But I must admit that I respect it because of its legendary dna and it is a great fragrance.
Yeah that's why I split my favourites from what I think is best. It's interesting
I like green fragrances, I like the Irish people, heck I even like tweed! Yet when I tried this I did not like Green Irish Tweed. I remember at the time thinking "oh THAT's that old man smell". I was a relative noob then and I'm rapidly approaching being an old man myself, so I wonder how I'd feel about it now. Your enthusiasm makes me want to give it another shot, but I'm not sure I want to like it given Creed's current prices!
Yeah there's no good will towards creed and their silly prices!
It's definitely got that king Charles aspect to it, old man in tweed out walking the hills

Have 3 versions and what stands out to me on all of them is the sillage. Top jauce

My little hot take: Tres Nuit smells better than GIT and really close GIT-like clones (but still kinda 7/10). Dihydromyrcenol overdose in GIT is too much for me. Great review though

I've smelled a few git clones but I think the sheer quality of materials and bourdon's blending set the original apart.

I like this more than Aventus now. I hear the new batches don't perform as well unfortunately. I have the same size older 4oz bottle as you.
It's fantastic and I much prefer it to aventus too
2021 batch is bad. But the new f batches of GIT are good I would say

I agree GIT is probably one of the most essentially creedesque of the Creed range, certainly not Aventus (which is nice when you first discover it but then becomes somewhat transparent). Did you see that Creed as a Company is back in French hands? I like that! 😆 (by the way do you know when they changed the shape of the bottle)?
I don't know about the shape of the bottles, sorry, but I had heard about the kering purchase

I think the old 120ml bottles got replaced around 2015-2017.

I haven't got the reference unfortunately
@@RichMitch came across some early bottles of it got sniff to test it out but don't know if they are worth the price from that era

GIT is very similar to vintage Cool Water!
Same dna with the same perfumer but the quality of materials and a few tweaks make git the 🤌🏻

I will say I MUCH prefer the clear bottle I hate the black bottle it doesn't suit the fragrance at all! My bottle is a 2016 clear one

@@RichMitchCreed used to do ambroxan so good bank in the days, i haven't tested the new stuff since i hear nothing but bad things. I'm sure they're dumping truck loads of ambroxan now

Damn I would love to be in the UK right now sipping on a whisky inside a log cabin, overlooking a cliff with greenery, woods by the coastline. Meanwhile, I will have to settle for a espresso lounging on my recliner in the countryside of chilly NC doused in GIT 🥃☕️🍃🪵
