So which method do you like the most? Which produces the most accurate, smothest rods?
I have no social friendly Diy hobbyist jobs All are compatating job earning self earned money persons..i myself liked this type of works smoothly worthy nurishment.irs really decently good for use..
The best way is to use a chisel.
However, jigs using a router can be finely adjusted, so the dimensional accuracy is stable.
@@jisakukobo Would love to see videos of you making drill press and other wooden machinery.😍😍
@@con-f-use it's the ferrous sandable to shape.. don't use milling to shape the same requirement
Much respect to you sir! Your "home-made" fixtures and shop tools are superior to most of what is available commercially. Thank you for sharing your ideas with us!
One would say, "This can't be done!" So, JSK doesn't know it can't be done. So he goes on and does it perfectly. NO matter the problem. Thank you kind Sir. You are truly a sequential genius. We love to watch your talents in every video. Please keep on doing it.
You are an inspiration. You could make a dowel practically any diameter. Thank you for the excellent videos, keep it up!
Where do you come up with all of these EXCELLENT ideas for wood working? YOU sir, are most assuredly a Master Craftsman of Wood Working.
All these hacks are very well done with the exception to #4. Not a reflection of JSK-koubou talent. I've tried #4 a few different times and it sometimes ends up the way his did with leaving traces of some flat areas as his did in close inspection shown in the video. The others are great. Thanks
This channel is impossible not to love! One of the most important features is that you don't say a single word. Your tools are art works!!!! I dream to have Tools like yours. Best regards. :)
I just wanted to say that thanks to you I've been introduced to the wonders of Forstner bits. I'm finding them most useful.
I would love to see you do large posts turned from squares to round 4 to 6 inch!!! That would be awesome!
Thank you for another great video. I have built some of your tools and wish I would of thought of them myself. ❤
Genial, parabéns pela criatividade!!!👏👍🤌
the angle grinder slide cut-off saw, the wooden vice for drill press, the way you used a wrench socket and with a drill bit driver as a 'lathe' chuck, and my favorite, the chuck for square stock. these are just a few of the excellent hacks/jigs/ideas here. the chuck for square stock is particularly inventive and useful. i have two comments about it. 1) the design would be improved with near-end adjustment bolts that move the drill side of the jaws outward so as to clamp down on the stock with leverage, and small pieces of coarse sandpaper glued to the wood pads would assist grip. 2) a similar hack built on steel round with jaws 120 degrees apart would work for round stock and bamboo
a note on dowels. it's pretty easy to fashion dowels from clear square stock. the problem is making them precisely (consistent diameter) and accurately (exact to a predetermined dimension). of these two problems, precision is probably more important than accuracy because if you have consistent diameter, you can probably find a fractional sized bit for it. it also helps if they have a somewhat textured finish to create more bonding surface for glue. it looked to me like the most promising method to get all these right might have been the jig saw blade method, but i'd love to hear your take on that
a minor correction to your terminology @7:24. a chamfer is traditionally a small 45 degree edge cut, can be done with a 45 degree bearing-guided router bit, a hand or power planer, or even with sandpaper. the 'chamfer' bit you referred to is usually called a quarter-round (4 x 1/4 = full round)
With so many simple techniques for making wooden dowel, it begs the question, why is it so expensive to buy?
Your clever hacks are superb 👍
Great hacks, great video as always, and the newlydiscovered offtime sound track comedy element was hilarious 🤓👍.
Hack number 5, a glorious example of over engineering just for the fun of it, thumbs up for that too.
Completo !
Awesome ideas as always! Thank you!
I can think of a lot of uses for that drill bit tool in the thumbnail. I appreciate you
We like these videos with multiple toolmaking techniques. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎
excelente dica, super aprovada
Muito bom, vamos fazer!
SUPERBES REALISATIONS. IDEES MAGNIFIQUES. TRAVAIL SOIGNE. TRES BELLES PRISES DE VUES
FELICITATIONS 👍👏👍👍👍
👏👏👏
Great hacks! #5 was maybe a bit overcomplicated (and a bit pricey if you don't have those parts lying around).
If I were to replicate one of these, I'd probably do #6, but shell out for some carbide utility knife blades and make the jig more or less permanent, with multiple sizes in mm increments. Those blades would last a long long time only cutting softwoods, even hardwoods I bet.
Thanks for sharing those tips and the make!
No2 is the simplest, fastest to make and repairable too :)
Very good !
Great job! Good ideas! Thanks for sharing!
Really fantastic jigs, dude! Amazing work! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Excelente ! gracias!
Genius! I never stop getting amazed by your talent
Thanks for your comment.
I hope the video helps.
I think hack #1 is better as it only need basic tools to made and easy to use.
Great work as always!
No doubt that the hack 3 is the best and most convenient one. It would be great if you could make it easier and more handy to change the rode size template.
Short studs for positioning and clamps or cams to tighten in place might be ok for the template. For a no hassle structural dovel I think number two quite adequate, if accuracy or presentable surface is needed then numbers three or four.
Nice! Which one gives the smoothest finish?
Well done . Informative 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe🇨🇦
All brilliant ideas
Sempre nos surpreendendo com um belo trabalho
ARIGATO!
Thank you.
You come up with the stuff!!!!
Bravo JSK👏🌷
TIL everything is a dowel jig if you try hard enough
Great stuff, thanks. What is the square stock that you are working with at 9:45 ?
Fantastic!!!!
Very well done
One of the few channels that doesn't just copy from others
Great as usual

You are way too smart for your own good. I love your ideas, your techniques, your thought processes, your ingenuity, and your precision. I have started making your projects and using them in my shop. Please keep doing what you are doing.
Thanks for sharing my friend
Love your videos
Tip for you: The machinists vice at the beginning: Scissor jacks for cars, have a beautiful shaft with acme threads, and a matching nut (look around for the older styles that have better shafts, some have nuts, some have a flat end with a hole, for a 'Tommy bar'. Junk yard for 5 bucks, (or steal your neighbors) Thanks for the video.

Who said you can't fit a round peg in a square hole? pure genius
I've got a great hack for making a dowel too. Go to your key rack; then grab a fob and put it in your pocket. After that, go down to your car & get in. Turn on the ignition & drive down to your local hardware store or HD/Lowes & buy one. Much easier & quicker than fabricating a tool to fabricate a common dowel.
It is your right for everyone who enters your channel to support this creativity with a like, as everyone benefits from this creativity, whatever its level.
As for entering and benefiting, then sneaking out, this is absolutely immoral. There is no proportionality between the entrants and the likes
This is just an invitation to everyone who loves creativity to support the owner of creativity. Thank you for your creations. Greetings
Great video! :) 👍
Unlimited creative mind!
I think the router way is too expensive because of the cutter price
Doesn't it have an eccentric axis?
It seems troublesome to adjust so that there is no eccentricity.
❤👍👍 mantap
Awesome ideas as always and well executed, but shouldn't the title be, "6 ways to make dowel"? BTW, where do you find the time to create all of your wonderful furniture, etc if you have to make all of your own dowel? ;)
👍👍👍
👍💪✌
Amazing and clever ideas as always!
I'm glad that you enjoyed the video.
Come watch anytime!
Okay I guess I should be making dowels out of all those bits and bobs I throw away
amzing verry good
👍👌👏🌷
So plaisant to sée !

Love your stuff, but this would be better called "6 ways to make wooden dowels".
👍

Dowel pegs must be REALLY EXPENSIVE or SCARCE wherever you live.
Or you want a dowel of an unusual size or using a particular wood if the dowel end will be visible.
☺👍🙌👏👏
Over complicated for a dowel there must be hundreds of ways to make them a hell of easer than this .
