My Ruby Princess Hawaiian Cruise started with a flight to Vancouver and an overnight stay at the Pan Pacific Hotel right inside the Canada Place cruise terminal. I wanted to stay at the Pan Pacific because of its proximity to the port and specifically the Vancouver cruise terminal. Did I think it was worth the extra cost?

The room is a great size.. and nobody can complain about the view.. but the rooms are dated and over priced for cruise season in my opinion, You have a few other hotels with nice views within 1 one or two blocks for about $100/night or more cheaper. Hope you have an amazing time on your cruise.

I didn’t want to be too critical but you are right. The rooms are dated and the bed needs a new mattress. Thanks for the comments.

@@Cruiseview yeah im not bashing the Pan Pacific its got probably the best views and convenience. I was just saying there are nicer rooms for cheaper not far away. The Pan usually sells out, people do love it.

Anyone do Fairmont Waterfront lately? If so how easy or hard is it to get luggage to the cruise terminal and check in? I love this for the convenience but my feeling is food is better at Fairmont Waterfront.

Fairmont Waterfront is practically across the street from Canada Place. Probably a 3 minute walk. I believe there is also an underground connection to Canada Place.

Looks lovely but looking at early May 2025 - $900 AUD (Aussie $$$) per night it’s definitely not worth it!

I have heard from others that there are a few hotels, just as nice, within 1 block of the cruise terminal that are cheaper. If I had to do it again, that is what I would do.
If you're planning on touring Vancouver area before or after your cruise, and you'll be in a hotel for several days, it might be worth it to find a hotel outside of the downtown area and take a taxi to Canada Place (the cruise terminal).

@@Cruiseview I have to admit as Aussie we were blown away by how expensive hotel accommodation in Vancouver is! We have now sorted our accommodation for out three seperate short stays next year. Staying at Coast Coal Harbour the first round then Blue Horizon the next two times at around $350 a night incl taxes. Both hotels come highly recommend, are in the Vancouver CBD and aprox a $10 taxi ride to Canada Place, which is way cheaper than spending an additional $500 per night!

@@gillianhinds3637 You Know. I just looked it up$900 AUD is about $826. Canadian. That is rediculous. I was there in March/April and I'm sure I paid around $350./night. I guess going there in the summer, the price jumps up. I know that Vancouver is one of the more expensive cities in Canada to live in, but that sounds rediculous to me. I have always lived in the Toronto area and moved outside Toronto when I retired. I stayed at the Royal York Hotel last May in Toronto downtown and paid under $300./night.

@@Cruiseview crazy times! We are spending our first two nights late April at Coast Coal Harbour hotel. We would have then stayed there for a night immediately before our cruise for one night on May 2nd but it went from around $350 (incl tax) to $800 (incl tax) per night once it entered May! What a difference a couple of days make lol. So we then booked the Blue Horizon (around $350 per night) for our next three Vancouver short stays. We are so looking forward to this trip - Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Alaska and the Canadian Rockies. Can’t wait!

@@gillianhinds3637 Sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you have a great trip. My cruise last April was to Hawaii. I’ve never been that interested in Alaska. I guess because I prefer cruising to warmer weather in our winter. I love the snow but not the cold. 😁

Your paying extra $400 a night just for a view. Sorry that pays a whole 2 nd night hotel somewhere else.

I agree. I had never been to the Vancouver cruise port before so it wasn't just for the view but the convenience. Canada Place hotel is in the same building as the cruise port. Now that I know the area, I would probably book a hotel, walking distance from Canada Place. There are a few that are cheaper. By the way, I wasn't that happy with Canada Place as a cruise port either as I mention in my videos.

@@destinationswellknown7721 I did experience that in the restaurant. It wasn't bad service for me. It was no service. It was a buffet but no one around to refill the food stations. Hardly any scrambled eggs left and they were cold. They might have a staffing problem.

What other hotel delivers you bags directly to the ship? Vancouver port is one of the worst I have ever sailed out of when it comes to checking bags. It's worth it just for that, imo.
