What’s in my Wedding Bag? // Everything I need for shooting a full wedding day [Leica m11 included!]

- Packing up my two bags before I am off to shoot a wedding. This video shows everything I bring with me on a full wedding day, if I can shooting alone.
Includes a bag for getting ready and out and about and another bag with items I need later, specifically for the ceremony and reception.
For this wedding I was trying out the noctilux 50mm 1.2, I normally use the summilux 50 1.4. I also have a voigtlander 70mm that I bring sometimes.
I switch out a few things depending on the day. Sometimes I’ll bring my 17mm or 45mm T/S, sometimes I’ll bring my 70-200mm if my second shooter doesn’t have one. I’ve always preferred prime lens and find that less is more when shooting weddings. I always have the two camera bodies on me, I find that it is enough 97% of the time.
I bring at least two batteries for everything, sometimes I’ll carry along a charger if the day is over 8 hours.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Hopefully you find this video helpful!

I second shoot 25-30 weddings/yr, going on 8 years now, loved primes so much in the beginning but few years on ended up with a couple of Canon L zooms on two bodies instead. I admire your dedication to use mostly primes (manual ones too!) on wedding shoots…..that ain’t easy!!
I would love to second shoot with you. I'm a hybrid shooter, digital and film. Fun!
would love to have you, where are you based? connect with me on ig or email :)
I still have my 24mm canon EF as well!
It’s a delight! Considering something in the 12-15mm range now too - I shoot so much architecture with my couples and always like to make them feel tiny :)
Clearly a very experienced wedding shooter who knows -exactly- what's needed for each part of the day and evening.
Give or take!
Interesting collection for the combination of "Do the job" and "Have some fun"!
Yes yes! It’s a constant balance of work and hustle and play and play some more :) Thanks for checking it out
@@teribphotography At least "play" gets in there half the time!
Enjoyed It! Thank you! 😊
You’re the best Cesar! Thanks for you support ✨
Great Video Teri :) Awesome cameras and lens selections… I’ve been using 50mm a lot at weddings myself lately :) Great stuff keep the videos coming - Grant…
Hi Grant! Thank you so much! For me, the 50mm is my one stop shop lens. I’ve gotten really comfortable with it over the years and am able to get a good range - sometimes I just have to move my feet a little more back and forth :)
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for checking it out Chad!
That combo of gear seems really flexible. The Canon AF capabilities when combined with the 85 and 50 (I’m assuming the 50 1.2?) gives you ability to grab captures quickly if you need to. I shoot an R6 and it’s a great camera. Your thought process about your bag was insightful. Thanks!
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment Chris! Yes, the 85 is one of my new favourites to the bag, it’s sometimes just a little too close for the ceremony so I tend to use the 28-70mm f2 - just rotate around with what I need. Totally agree, the r6 is awesome
@@teribphotography “I see you, Leica!” Different video, I think, but great comment. Sometimes glass has a certain look; it’s undeniable. All my best
Great selection in your gear bag :) Insightful video in your thought process. But plssss, use caps on the front of those lenses :)) Even if you have filters on them. They can easily scratch in the bag.
Thanks for taking the time to watch!! I have filters on all of them except one. I’m always trying to be kinder to my gear but wedding days move so fast!
Love the videos
Thank you so much!
Request: a follow up video someday with all of this gear in action!
I’ve considered this, I would just want to maintain some sense of privacy for my couples, their families and the your friends though! Still brainstorming
Interesting look at a wedding shooter’s kit. Thanks! The RF 28-70L just might tempt me to buy an EOS R-series camera, someday. Here is a “Like,” plus this comment, for the algorithm.
You’re the best Rex! The 28-70 is amazing but super heavy, it’s the only downside and boy is it a doozy
Something I never understood watching videos of pros using a Leica M for professional work is many, if not all of them also take a “modern” camera with all the modern features with them to site. But why take the M at all? Why not just buy a second or even third canon/sony/nikon/fuji and adapt M lenses? The M sensor can’t offer that different of a render can it? I fully understand enjoying it for personal shooting but for work I’m confused.
The m sensor doesn’t operate the same as canon/sony/nikon/etc. no denying. As much as I want to be fully M on wedding days I realize that some moments I need very quickly and need to pick up my canon. When I want to really create something, however, I always pick my m
If I adopted m lens to canon it would still be manual focusing (I’m sure you know). For me, it’s about the look, feel and experience of shooting on an M
Love the kit! Enjoyed the video! Would love to hear your thoughts on how things are going with your new R6 II!
Thank you Devante! I get caught up in leica that I forgot to shout out canon 😅 Working on a post after a few more weddings using the R6ii- so far it’s great :)
Awesome kit. I also have the Ona Messenger, but don’t nt use it as much cuz that bag alone is quite heave already.
“Gotta move fast in this world” you’ve said it all! Great lenses, Teri. That Sigma (132?!) must be very handy. Were those canon RF? The 85 and the other zoom one? If so, do you use them with your Canon R6? Nice to see that you shoot with film; the real thing. Weddings are something I’ve always been afraid of, but hey, they could pay the bills, so I’m preparing myself for it, in my case would be videos, not photos, but they’re cousins, lol. Always a pleasure watching your videos. Peace and love
Ruben thanks so very much! The sigma 130 is a delight, I’ve always preferred it to the 70-200. The 85 I’ve only done two weddings, it’s wonderful. Yes, currently rocking the m6 ii from the canon universe. Weddings have been wonderful for me! It’s great to even just practice when you are invited as a guest. So much to capture, so much joy and happiness
@@teribphotography that sounds awesome! I use cinema lenses with my bmpcc 6k pro, but before that I used the canon EOS R which is a pretty decent photo camera in my opinion, but I love your Leica and those lenses you’re working with. Great job, Teri. Keep rocking and thanks for sharing your experience. Happy Easter 🐣 (if you celebrate it) Peace and love 🙏
Do you use ND’s or polarizer filters when shooting outdoors?
Hello! I have some protective, basic uv filters. I've never used ND, am I missing out? I bought the fx mist ones but was too afraid to use for client work, it's such a vibe
@@teribphotography I assume that you might shot the 50/1.2 wide open. A ND would help get the exposure down to shot wide open.
I shoot with an R6ii as well and just bought an M10, don’t know what lens to get for it.
I’d narrow down what focal length you prefer, I knew the 50mm was (and still is) my sweet spot. Leica had so many options, you really can’t go wrong!
That’s a lot of weight and gear to carry around.
Yeah, and I even feel like I have a small setup. I’m never carrying around both bags unless I’m arriving or departing so it’s really not that bad! Thanks for watching
Great video - hope the shoot went well! How is it editing the Canon images with the Leica images? Is it easy to get consistency across the files from the two different systems?
Thanks so much for watching! This is a great question, I have my own presets for each camera and do work hard to make them mimic each other in color and tone. I lean into the Leicas coloring system, not surprisingly :)
Surprised you’re not shooting sl2 or sl2s with your m11. Nice kit though!
That’s what I’ve done, SL2s with M
Awesome!
For me, the Sl systems are just too big and bulky. I try to think long term and don’t want to destroy my joints too much! Would love to try an SL for a full wedding though, hear wonderful things
@@teribphotography They’re definitely a touch heavier, but not form factor wise. with the ability to use m-glass with profiles, same menu system, pana/sigma glass and similar color science between m11/sl2 it’s definitely a compelling argument! You should try!
@@D.Trider I have both an SL2 and M11 (I love both cameras). To me, the form factors, feel in the hands, and shooting experiences are completely different.
Nice video. I cant believe you don’t use lens CAPS. Stuffing all those cameras together. Asking for scratches on those EXPENSIVE, lens. That’s just me , as a retired pro photographer of 45 years.
Yeah, I move so fast sometimes that I’ve rarely been in the habit of covering my lens. I am careful to put them in bags nicely when I travel and such. I do have a lens protectors and they do the trick well! TY for watching!!
M11 to Noctilux! What camera resolution are you using?🎉
I keep it at the middle one, 36mp :)
The lenses and cameras are all great. With all these equipment, I guess the girl is carrying a lot of weight.
really not too much weight! its really just that darn canon 28-70! lol
No lens caps? (Spoken like NO…WIRE…HANGERS…EVER!!!)
I know, they have protective filters though, most of them
Je suis choqué de voir que ces objectifs sont entassés sans protection !!!😮😮😮
I get that sometimes but everything is okay! I'm not looking to keep everything mint
In México Cdmx? Go. Miss. Day. Rips. Moun november
Won’t be there, sounds nice
Pictures Pictures.. México Cdmx yes OK Tanks Miss
Thanks
Why don't you shoot Leica M11 and MP combo instead of R6II? Can't stand of R6MKII build quality it feels cheap plastic crap compare to Leica quality build.
I hear ya - I rarely get excited to use my canon, isn’t that sad?? Only time is probably when I use my tilt shift or do freelensing. On a wedding day I just can’t get Leica Ms to document the dance-floor and reception how I want! I will say, I almost never take my canon out for personal work! Lol
@@teribphotography Why you just can't get Leica Ms to document on wedding day? Is it cause their Autofocus system are not good fast enough compare to Canon R6II? I never like or own any Canon Mirrorless nowadays due to their Build Quality plastic and they don't Feel good in my hand. It's like driving electric car with full new feature but rarely use 100% of it. They could Try Hard to convince me to switch. Haha! I'll stick with Classic Metal build cars instead. Cause Old is Gold. L0L!
