I often wondered if Bebe was styled intentionally unflattering or if production really thought she looked as gorgeous as she was said to be in the script. Pink was her "signature color", but her hot pink dresses and orange hair made her olive skin look green. And her accessories like that "fur" stole that were supposed suggest she was rich actually looked cheap. Don't get me wrong, as an actress she was very beautiful and would have looked STUNNING in a black dress with dark or even ash blonde hair. It just makes me think the costume designer chose to make her look green and a little "creature-ish" so the audience would know not to like her character.
Well, the show was already pretty bright and colorful, to keep up with shows like Bewitched (Endora), I Dream of Jeannie, and Laugh In, so I think any outlandish character on The BB had to be sufficiently over the top in hairstyle, makeup, and wardrobe to stay as current as possible. I'm guessing that the departments would have put any actress that was playing that character in the exact same hairstyle and costume.
I think Beebe was created as a farce of the glamourous socialites of the time. "Dahling" automatically directs toward Zsa Zsa. Another eccentric character that visited was Aunt Jenny played by Imogene Coca.
Beebee Calini is hilarious 😊
The assistant is hilarious!!
Details, details, details! 💁♀💁♀💁♀
She has great eyes
I love Alice.
This was a bit before my time. Never watched it. Enjoying the clips.
I think Beebee played a beautiful green alien on “Lost in Space”. Sure looks like her.
Not strange......downright rude! Mike should've told her to gtfo.
Mike was too polite to do that. But the kids got rid of her, thanks to their antics.
What country is she from?
