It works lovely with Olaplex but I have used it without and still get lovely results.

Oxidant / Developer
The oxidant is responsible for the elimination of the existing color pigments, only then the new color can settle in hair. Developers are available in the concentrations of 1.9% - 12% and depending on the strength of the concentration, a more intensive lightening of the hair is achieved.

So smart to start lightening < level 6 base hair low and slow with 7 vol. Then if needed to go lighter, a second round of lightening with 20 vol. Less damage to the hair!

I saw a very talented hair stylist use same 7vol and take someone with black curly hair all the way to level 8/9 in one go . Lol that led me to this video because I am still in disbelief . I will be doing a swatch test on my own hair

it discolored my hair like that too and I used it 2 times... my whole hair yellow... although it's excellent. it didn't dry out or destroy my hair, but where I touched my skin it felt like I was burned by acid... never again. ..big advertisement, it disappointed me a bit
