AND you did a fabulous job complementing Ralph's playing. When before listening to this video, I saw that this concert was a piano trio accompanying Ralph, I was very skeptical: how could a pianist not get in his way. Yet, you were always 100% sensitive to the place of Ralph's guitar in the ensemble > always leaving him the space that he needed while at the same time always contributing to making the music stronger. You really did a great job of communicating your love and admiration for his music. GREAT JOB!
What's a beautiful music is. Ralph Towner still is a master at his 80'. Thanks for this video, thanks for this music. The world can be better after that.
As I close my eyes and drift along with such transending musical consciousness and totally masterful artistic flow I am brought to tears from the beauty which is what you gave the world this night. Thank you for being.
Outstanding trio backing up Ralph, who has carved out a really unique sound and compositional style over decades. Killer keys, excellent feel by all, great mixing and recording. Audience loved it, too bad youtube isn't sophisticated enough to pull in more views.
58:30 to the end made me the most musically satisfied that I have been in at least three years. Each player is excellent, fully present yet also always responsive. Ralph is, of course, a treasure of this era but I was equally impressed by each of the other players. Take a listen.
What great synergy! I'm pleased to have found your music, Pablo. I was searching for something new of Ralph online, and greatly enjoyed your interview with him. But your playing, and that of your trio, is singular, simply beautiful. And very well recorded. Your synchrony with Ralph during Prowler sounds like the work of people who've known one another for many years. Bravo.
Quitte an inspiration. R. Towner is still one of the very few jazz guitarists using classical guitar technique wit great taste. Great ensemble playing too!
