Great fast answers! I ended up going with the 1700. But I'm thinking it was a bad idea. My USB thumb drives are not recognized by the included USB cable in the rear port. Is it a bad unit or does Pioneer not support this? Seems like they only care about iPhone support.
I'm only trying to play audio (MP3 files). The brand of the USB is MicroCenter (Computer store) and it's a USB 3.0. But I also tried an older 8GB USB 2.0, still nothing. The manual is written horribly and doesn't even explain the USB function.

I'm wondering what kit I should buy with this radio. I also would like to know what other products you recomend as far as updating the sounds and speakers of my car. i know i need new speakers. but I'm not sure the difference between a amp and a sub? i just really need help lol. Yes it has Bluetooth and HD radio. Metra makes 2 different kits for your car the 95-7862 lower dash kit or the 99-7803g upper dash kit with AC controls. Either will get the job done. What type of subs are you thinking about? Typically 2-10s fit well in that car.

I have a AVH-X3700bhs head unit that was installed in my Jeep 6 mos. ago. I recently have tried converting videos to divx format and loaded them on a usb. When I try to play it the unit says that the file is "unplayable file" What am I doing wrong? Is this unit not capable of playing video from a thumb drive. It appears that it is but maybe I am wrong
+Jason Hovencamp ok try this, our viewer have had success with it. format all my videos to XVID codec the format is .avi and the resolution is 640 * 360 if you have a higher resolution the video will be too slow but the music on the video will keep playing normal...

+Josheg8 yes plug it in to the back of the radio( yellow- yellow, red-red, white- white), go into the main menu and turn on the AV input. It will add a AV icon to the source drop down. It will work as long as you live in the country they say it is for.
You pointed out they all have network mode. How do you get into network mode as i thought it is meant to pop up after you choose your language and it seems it goes straight tot the screen where you choose the type of phone connection. Am i missing something?

+Andrew Robbins that is very strange, I just tried all our test units and the network/ standard mode came up every time. I am use the restore settings in the main menu. The radio powers up- asks what language- network/ standard- iPhone/ other. You will not get this option if you just unplug power.

I despise this radio more than anything I’ve ever bought. It’s such garbage and I wish I never wasted my $ I have the s and mine doesn’t have a backup camera. It’s so annoying. It comes on EVERY time I plug my phone in. It won’t ever stop. And I can’t even figure out how to turn the f$*king thing off.

Are these pioneer units compatible with ONSTAR???

A lot of people prefer a rotary volume knob myself included....it's a shame the most if not all high end units don't have them...:(
Check out the 6.2" Alpine, Kenwood, and Sony's. Some of there high end radios have a knobs.
is the volume buttons the only way to control the volume? or can it be controlled with the touch screen ?
You can use the buttons on the side of the radio, the remote, or the steering wheel controls. There is no buttons on the screen.
Nothing is more annoying than Volume controls on the touch screen

Not much the 2700 is a North American version of the radio. The basic features ( power, RCA, EQ, for example) are the same.
