I was at Turn 1 in Austin in 2021 and at the Eau Rouge Corner in 2022 and I can certainly say, that Eau Rouge are one of the most amazing corners to be at. Later on, walked the track down Eau Rouge, it’s a mighty hill.
I’m from the East Coast of the U.S and I actually attended this past weekend’s race. General admission tickets for Canada are reasonable. Plus the current exchange rate worked in my favor
Thanks Kym for another fantastic bit of perspective. I love turn 1 in Austin (where I live). The turn 15 grandstand is also quite unique because the track winds back and forth there so the cars and motorbikes spend more time when passing through and the fans get to watch the action longer at that spot.
I think the Shangai GP Grandstand A (Upper section) is underrated. You have a very good view across the whole pit lane and since you are pretty high up you can also see half of the track. And a 3 day ticket is around 400$.
totally agree. I think they also reinstalled the turn 1 grandstand from this year and it is also phenomenal. Was there in 2006 and the panoramic view was unbeatable.
Canada turn 2 is quite good as long as you snag a seat high enough to over look the fencing, then you have a clear view of the straight and turns. Phenomenal time there and I have repeated it for the past 7 years.
I was lucky enough to watch the 1998 Belgian GP on the smaller stand at the bottom of Eau Rouge, the big crash was right in front of us. Unforgettable day and such an amazing place to watch GP 😀
Personally I like T12 at COTA. You can see almost the whole track even turn 1. Plus there's a lot of overtakes at 12 because it's the end of the back straight. Plus you gave a great view of turn 12, 13, 14, and 15. my first year I sat on the main straight right in front of the grid but once I went to turn 12, I actually prefer it.
Great stuff Kym and agree on your #1 pick for sure..!! I’ve always enjoyed the hill lakeside at turns 1 & 2 at Albert Park… in slow, out fast and plenty of incidents there over the years… See you in ‘Vegas
I am fortunate to have watched the USGP in Austin from Turn 1. Great viewing also at Turn 12 at the end of the fast straight leading in to the hard braking zone then the twisty bits.
I am fron Montreal and just was at this weekend race. I was right between T6 and T7. It might not always be one of the best places, but for sure, it was the best place to be for all the races this year. This is the place where multiple cars went off, including Sargent, Checo, Sainz, Albon, and even Hamilton. 3 cars had DNF right in front of our eyes.
@FrontWing-EndPlate I had the luck to decide to not go on Friday and sell my ticket for that day. What happened is really unacceptable and should be addressed. However, it only happened to a few people. A lot of them did make it inside.
I love your videos! I saw you taking pictures in your bucket hat live during the Grand Prix! I jumped up and was pointing and yelling "there's Kym! There's Kym!" And now I wanna buy your bucket hat!
Great video Kym, i was very fortunate to be able to sit in the gold grandstand in Belguim on the first year the grandstand was open. This stand was worth every penny with the view you get of eau rouge and raddion. A 10/10 stand and would highly recommend it to anyone who gets the chance to go the Belguim GP
Woo. Only been to one F1 race in recent history & I managed to book the number 1 on the list as we were on holiday from Australia. The stand at Spa was awesome, I booked 9 months in advance, think tickets were about $700 for Friday, Saturday pass, I ended up doing laps of the ring sunday for a full Motorsport weekend.
Great video ! For Montreal turn 2 it’s the grandstand 11 or 12. Also I’ve been to the one in front of the paddock and it’s also great to see the cars stop and accelerate, pit stop also really close.
Can recommend last turn in Hungary too, Silver 3 lets you see them shooting down the start finish straight, see how gets DRS, last turn and all the way down between turn 11 and 12 coming towards you + pit entry
I'd have to add the Lance Stroll Grandstand at the Canadian GP, I sat there last year for my first F1 race and it was incredible. You really get to see how amazing these cars breaking is going into the hairpin and then get a full view of the whole corner. Plus a view of the city skyline is an incredible backdrop to the race action.
Fantastic video. Thank you for this. I figured the Senna S (turn 2) in Montreal would make the cut, although the outside line grandstand at the hairpin (turn 10) has a fantastic view of the cars arriving and leaving, as well as some late-braking attempts for overtakes. Seeing as you're in Barcelona, Kym, do you know if the circuit is open to the public outside of race events? I'm visiting Barcelona in October and would like to walk my 4th F1 track if possible. Cheers!
All that is great to know so thank you. Your demeanor in presentation is so relaxed and professional making your videos easy to watch and so informative, you'd have made a great car salesman..... that's a compliment by the way!
GREAT list. COTA Turn 1 is awesome. But for racing action,, COTA Turn 15....six corners, right under your nose, including a near hairpin following a long DRS straight, then the cars can often run side-by-side, for the next five serpentine corners before they finally disappear...its an insane amount of action time and you still have visibility to other parts of the track. I'm ready to move my yearly pilgrimage to COTA following the Montreal multiple-failures.
Amen Brother! Turn 12 at COTA in Austin is the bomb! High-speed braking coming off DRS in the back straightaway leads to some great over-takes and a lot of pushing and shoving among cars. Then the view continues into turns 13, 14, 15 and 16. And it you brought your binoculars, you get a bonus as you can see the top of the hill and turn one in the distance. The key is to purchase a ticket near the top of the stands to catch all the views.
Kym! If you ever have a chance to see a race at Laguna Seca, it has the most fantastic spots to watch races. At the top of the big hill, you can see cars coming down the corkscrew, then, walk about 50 feet to the other side of the hill, and you get a view of almost the entire track, turns 1-6, 10 and 11. The hill to the right of turn 1 has the same amazing view of all but turns 6-8 from the opposite angle. If you ever have a chance to watch IMSA or Indycar there, absolutely take it, it's a beautiful area!
Awesome! I was at the bottom of Eau Rouge in 2004 when they had a grandstand there. It was absolutely amazing. And that race, Michael Schumacher won his 7th title. 🤩
Thanks for all the great info, you should think about the ultimate guide to F1 all you need to know about the sport including some of your stunning images and useful information that the racego needs. Keep up the good work.

Before watching the end. I am betting #1 has to be the grandstand gold on top of spa eau rouge. You see them coming from la source and can really enjoy the difference in elevations. Issues with spa: hotels and distant parking, not to mention total lack of public transportation.. expect queues on the motorway far before the exits
I really enjoyed this video Kym. Thanks mate! I'm happy to know that I picked the right location when I went to my first (and, so far, only) F1 race. What are the chances you could make a video of the best grandstands at each venue, even if they are outside of this top 10. When I go to Silvertone I want to make sue I sit wher Kym would sit! P.S. Can't wait to get my teal bucket hat. I hope it's in time for Monza.
Turn 9 in Austin. Can see them coming out of the S turns, turn 7, turn 8, turn 9, dogleg 10, down to hairpin at 11, and the entire long back straight away to 12…
When I next go to an F1 race I need to try and get a grand stand ticket at brig breaking zone, so u get the best views of the best overtakes. I’ve always wanted to see T1,T2 Canada.
Fantastic overview...may I kindly add just have a rough $ figure next to each stand so not only do we know the best stand but also the bang for buck stand 🏆🙏😎
No love for montreal grand stand 24 adjacent to the exit of the hairpin? Can't get any closer to the cars than here. DRS kinda ruined this corner though - no one tries to pass into the hairpin with a DRS zone a little bit further down the circuit. Sad times. :(
Most historic incedent at the Monza stand was Senna throwing away Mclearns perfect season by cutting off Schlesser. He had made the passing the chicane but left Schlesser absolutely nowhere to go when Senna chopped him off. That was Sennas 2nd huge mistake of the season after throwing an easy win at Monaco. He still managed to win the title but didn't actually score the most points. Prost actually scored the most points that season. I believe it makes Prost the only driver who scored the most points but didn't win the title.
Loved this video but a better video would have been to rate the best spot or spots from each circuit in the calendar. As I am going to Shanghai in 2025 and waiting for the tickets to be released. Knowing where to view from would be a great help so Kym or anyone, please let me know. TIA
I'm amazed you didn't put Becketts Grandstand (Silverstone) on here! You can see so much of the track from there! Both the Wellington & Hangar straights, Village, and Maggotts/Becketts/Chapel corners
Cool ideas and suggestions, Mr. Kym. If money were no object, there are some really cool spots all over the circuits. But since money IS an object and I live near Seattle, in Washington, USA, I figured I would choose Turns 2 or 10 at Montreal. The stadium in Mexico would be my #2 I think. I refuse to go to Austin. That race is such a joke. YeeHaw, pardner. No, thanks.
@Kym❤ plz make a playlist on your channel that includes this and the other videos i remeber u made to help people attend F1 Like F1 Attendance Tips etc (not saying call it this, just explaining what i mean) This is good for views and subsribers because then i can share the playlist to my friends. i kinda wanted the hat but 85$ for a bucket hat!!! you can buy a Lando Norris bucket hat for 65 or maxs for 75 =o why so much for a 10 dollar hat ahaha
Can’t believe you didn’t include the maggots & becketts grandstand at Silverstone! You can see cars through farm & chapel, down the wellington straight, then through maggots & becketts, and down the hanger straight too. AND it’s a covered grandstand!

Might be difficult, however do you think you could make a guide for F1 races on a budget?
Japan.

Tbh race tickets don’t even compare to hotels😭
As far as ticket prices go, general admission at Spa and Barcelona are both on the cheaper side, I don't know too much about the other tracks though
My first GP was Monza 2022 outside turn 1! The pure EUPHORIA that erupted when Leclerc took pole was something that can't be explained in words.
Maggots & Becketts at Silverstone is also fabulous for watching them on some fast corners.
Thanks Kym for another fantastic bit of perspective. I love turn 1 in Austin (where I live). The turn 15 grandstand is also quite unique because the track winds back and forth there so the cars and motorbikes spend more time when passing through and the fans get to watch the action longer at that spot.

I was sitting in grandstand 11 last weekend and watching Max race Lando out of the pits was the highlight of my weekend!!! So cool!

I've been going to Spa since 88 with GA tickets. This year we have tickets for Gold 3 eau rouge..... I feel like we earned this as Spa veterans! 👍❤️😊

Singapore T2 grandstand and Suzuka grandstand D in the esses are amazing as well.
Genuinely thought Woodcote at Silverstone would be on here but do agree with your no.1 choice
Thanks Kym, great content! I've got my seat at Curva Ascari Monza this year. Hope to see you there. Trying to stay as passionate as you
Yes I have tickets for Spa this year in that Grand Stand!!
The view from Raidillon’s grandstand is something else 🏎️
Barcelona T1 is also a great place lots of overtakes, view of the main straight and the first chicane, bonus you can also see T8 i think at the back

Totally agree on SPA being the best grandstand seat in F1. Insane there when we attended a race there and it is spectacular
Tabac Monaco is pretty nice as well.
I really enjoyed this video Kym. Thanks mate! I'm happy to know that I picked the right location when I went to my first (and, so far, only) F1 race.

Nice content as usual, can you advise the best stand(in your opinion) at the Australian G.P. Thanks
Turn 9 in Austin. Can see them coming out of the S turns, turn 7, turn 8, turn 9, dogleg 10, down to hairpin at 11, and the entire long back straight away to 12…
Turn 3 in Austria you have the benefit of walking along the old race track.
Agree with your choices.
Hi Kym, which grandstand in Albert Park would you recommend?
Hockenheim has a pretty good statium section too.
This is a good video for information because I was thinking about buying a ticket.
Another great subject....brilliant
Can confirm. Austin turn 1 is the best there.
When I next go to an F1 race I need to try and get a grand stand ticket at brig breaking zone, so u get the best views of the best overtakes. I’ve always wanted to see T1,T2 Canada.
Great info , hope you feel better soon , cheer's M8
Need a top ten GA, grandstands are great and are what I choose these days, but nothing like finding a gem GA spot.
Additional to Austria. From this Grand Stand you can see the whole inflield as well. So you basically cover 50+% of the track.
Fantastic overview...may I kindly add just have a rough $ figure next to each stand so not only do we know the best stand but also the bang for buck stand 🏆🙏😎

Monza 6a is "our" Place since Years..... Great Place to be...... Price nearly doubled the last Years :-) Like most of the Tracks have done this....

I miss the stadium in Zandvoort
Grandstand 24 in the hairpin at Montreal is one of the best!
Damn, the Kym Illman logo is awesome!
I was at the 2022 race in Austria and on the grand stand of Turn 3. You can almost see the whole track from there!
Missus wants to take me to Singapore GP 2025
Any recommendations for grand stands there?
Hi, you missed grandstand on turn 6, at Mexico City
Tell me you've never been to Vegas without telling me...
That photo at 8:51 is magnificent.
Good afternoon, what about in Vegas, where are the good seats, thank you and blessings!
I'm surprised you picked T1 over T15 in Austin.
Thank you ❤
Really would of picked you to choose the Waite stand at Albert Park turns 9 + 10 😢
Honorable mentions strolls seat
The “top of Eau Rogue”?
That’s Radillion, actually.
I’m surprised maggots/becketts at silverstone isn’t on this list
Loved this video but a better video would have been to rate the best spot or spots from each circuit in the calendar. As I am going to Shanghai in 2025 and waiting for the tickets to be released. Knowing where to view from would be a great help so Kym or anyone, please let me know. TIA

My idea exactly, don't know what that Monaco grandstand is doing in this list I would swap it out for Silverstone
Would be good to put some prices up
Agree Monaco as you see in the pits the best part of Monaco
Great video
Kym wheelchair friendly area please and which tracks please thank you Pete cape town south Africa 🇿🇦 on a budget with a minder please thank you 😢
From Spa, thank you
Thank you too!

He lucky
I am surprised to not see Monaco on the list
You should’ve watched the whole video
Too bad. Las Vegas was not on the list. BTW, I am a taxi cab driver in Vegas.
i knew u was gonna say eau rouge .. cuz it just is.
The thumbnail gave away what your number 1 would be.
Surprised not to see anything from Silverstone.
