It has been a long time coming wanting to watch this video. Glad it turned out fantastic. Honestly I didn't read Phos quite like that in my first watch of the show. I do see them struggling between 'wanting to change but not really', sub-conscious vs conscious sort of deal, but never fixate on both want and don't want on each conscious. Your dive gets me thinking about it again, and every examples and 'proves' you pull chronologically in the story really reinforces your read really well. Phos might be more relatable than I initial thought they were.

This is a truly beautiful review of houseki no kuni, I didn't think it was that deep. I see myself in phos in that I act like phos so much. Wishing that I could be what I wish to be, yet never acting to change myself. It also takes on a different view in that if you do change, you become a different person. Maybe I should change myself, though I am also scared of change. Truly a tough decision, but maybe, just maybe I could still be myself even if I change.

man this series is changed soo much
Thanks B. It has changed drastically indeed. I still feel like the core is intact tho so it's k.
@@zeroloid9762 yes that's right but i have emotionally attached to this series and it's unique story
in the span of a month i already re watched this video like 3 times.
Great analysis / review.
Dang! Now that's dedication! Good to know it doesn't just get forgotten after the first watch. Thanks for the support bruv!
It would be great to watch another of your video essay on this show. Keep it up!
One o these days
Phos is so relatable, he has always wanted to fight but then never get the happiness they deserve
Phos is based like that
incredible Video! i really really liked it! And you sense of humor is great. Good timing!
lol thanks
I also love how you use Phos's ost over and over again. It's also my favorite due to how beautiful and hopeful it sounds. It really reminds me of old Phos and gives me some peace after the let's say.... despair filled current chapters
Same. I can't get enough of the Houseki soundtrack in general. Maximum comfy.
@@zeroloid9762 Absolutely perfect study music as well. Basically the whole soundtrack is a masterpiece

I've been re watching Houseki lately. And oh boy does it hurt.
The manga gets so, so, so dark... Its haunting and beautiful.
Oh believe me, I know. *shudder*
The choice of music is just godly.
Really great video.
Thanks m8. The music is what i have the most fun with.
Im from 2020 and im so excited for Manga Volume 11 Coming out this Year also Great Video ^-^
Yeet
The drakenguard 3 music was perfectly inserted. The music styles are similar, and the flower that Phos makes with the gold is very reminiscent of that game. Good job my dude!
I luv dg3
no matter how many times i watch antarcticite's death, i can't stop crying
Big sad hours
Loved it. it was fun to watch, and your editing gave me a few good giggles.
Thanks lad!
(talking about what sensei is) "it probably doesn't matter" the manga: well,
heh
Have no idea how this ended up in my recommends but I’m glad it did. That ending takeaway really got me thinking and I might have to return to this anime some time soon. Great video!
Thanks a ton man!
When the ATLA music starts playing- you know it’s a deep moment
No ATLA music here bro. You're probably thinking of the Warframe music.
Land of the Lustrous Anime and Manga
The Anime: Hi I’m not too dark but I give trauma to the some characters
The Manga: Hi I get dark in almost an instant and I give trauma for all of the gems but give phos the most memory loss and trauma
Finaly man of culture, phos indeed the best
Phos is pebble of culture
It has been a long time coming wanting to watch this video. Glad it turned out fantastic. Honestly I didn't read Phos quite like that in my first watch of the show. I do see them struggling between 'wanting to change but not really', sub-conscious vs conscious sort of deal, but never fixate on both want and don't want on each conscious. Your dive gets me thinking about it again, and every examples and 'proves' you pull chronologically in the story really reinforces your read really well.
Phos might be more relatable than I initial thought they were.
Yeah Phos is crazy relatable it hurts help
at 23:50 i noticed something weird, is this music the operator room theme from warframe
Ye
Wow this looks really interesting! I’m definitely going to check out the show! I like the work you’ve put into this video, it really shows!
Thanks! It's a darn good series.
At 18:44 sensei is shaped like the inky silhouette of the lunarians when they first show up
O dang no lie.
ykno, this is one of my favorite videos to this day. it never gets old. :)
loved this, I found it hilarious!! mostly,,
First you laugh, then you cry, then you laugh again. Emotional roller coaster is a go-go.
This is probably my favourite essay on HnK! Love all the points you made and how you let them all progress through the episodes chronologically, they all summarized what I adore about this show. It made me want to rewatch the whole show again :D
Excellent video, subscribing for more!
Thanks lad! At the risk of summarizing too much, I like to show how things progress naturally. It really helps take in the big picture.
*Houseki no Kuni conviction arc*
damn ur videos give me the chills, ur writing is really emotional and I love it. Nice Work!
Thanks friendo!
I thought this video was literally Phos vs ZA WARUDO from JoJo
I admit the title is somewhat of a joke. I wonder how a fight like that would go down. Phos would probably get rekt as usual.
Thank you brother, for a fine rumination over the development of Phos in the static world of Houseki no Kuni. How our everchanging goofpebble gave you the oomph that you required to get the ball rolling. Well I'm a gonna watch your other vids just to know you better as a person.

@@zeroloid9762 I was rewatching this and forgot I said this nine months ago just wanted to report it still hit hard
Oh my, this video has a lot of good ideas that I didn't mentioned before, I think everyone who saw HnK, or read HnKs manga need to watch this. This video is underrated and deserves more views, and channel deserves more subscribers. Really deep analys.
Also, metal cuts are great
Yay! Someone likes my metal trash! Lol, thanks for the support my guy!

In short sensei is a machine that was supposed to pray for the souls of humanity so they can pass on but after breaking and gaining sentience he can now not or can’t pray for the souls of humanity.
I covered that in some of the later vids.
I loved this, excellent work Zeroloid, I wish I could have found this video sooner. Ik it's old but this show still is a hidden gem to be discovered in the pile.
Darn skippy it is
Don't click show more if you aren't caught up with the manga
"Phos is her own antagonist"
Holy shit that aged well seeing as SHE IS THE ANTAGONIST
"Sensei is probably a lunarian but it doesn't matter"
HAHAHAHAHAHA OH IT SURE DOES MATTER WHAT HE IS
"This isn't a story about immortality sucking"
*The lunarians have entered the chat*
Yes
This is a truly beautiful review of houseki no kuni, I didn't think it was that deep.
I see myself in phos in that I act like phos so much. Wishing that I could be what I wish to be, yet never acting to change myself. It also takes on a different view in that if you do change, you become a different person.
Maybe I should change myself, though I am also scared of change. Truly a tough decision, but maybe, just maybe I could still be myself even if I change.
Go for it!
That was pretty well done goddamn, a few of the "meme" sections felt a bit long and your voice itself is a it low but apart from that, good editing and structure overall. Hope to see more content like this in the future
Ayy thanks. Yeah I'll definitely be a bit more brief with just about everything from now on.
I don't know what you expect him to do about his voice being low??? It's just his voice lmao
I personally found it comforting and approachable.
I absolutely love this series/manga. And this man. THIS MAN. THANK YOU, for doing a video on Phos. I loved it!
