Video Description - Solo 3 Day 2 Night Off- Grid Winter Dry Camping In A Pickup Truck Camper, Relaxing and Cast Iron Cooking Over An Open Fire.
We find a secluded spot just east of Congress, Arizona in the American Southwest Desert. The weekend of New Years so we are in almost full winter!! No snow camping here though!! The temps are warm and the views are amazing!! Come hang out with me, your new friend Larry , and Mason my long haired Chihuahua. We do a little bushcraft by splitting firewood, and even find a wash that might have some gold in it!! Too bad I didn't bring my gold prospecting gear!!

The drink with olives in it is just beer with olives in it 🤣 I like to put a spoonful of olives in and dump about a tablespoon of juice into the beer and it completely changes the flavor and it is so good!
Sooo I hope the G doesn’t flag me even more than I already am but I swear when we talk to our dogs and they wink with their left eye… they know what we’re saying. Your doggo does that lol
Nice little cookstove. I had a little dog, a Pekingese, he lived to be just under 20 years old, was just he and I and I spoiled him just as you do Mason. He had a doggie bed in every room aside and when we went camping or house boating, one for inside and one for outside too. So I totally can relate. So glad you include him in everything you do. Thanks for the virtual camping trip... I totally love the videos. :)

When you fry eggs you can put hamburger in the mix with your cheese then wrap it up on a flour taco shell. It is very good and tasty. It is also good with scrambled eggs to.

Loved this video. There is nothing like food cooked in cast iron. I use mine all the time. One recipe I really enjoy is browning some chicken thighs (boneless is ok with the skin) add some chicken stock, carrots and a pasta called orzo (about a cup) it is so good! use a whole container of broth because orzo is a pasta and absorbs alot. Yeah, I think your husband is completely right on that one! I think people get scared and just wanna be parked next to somebody else for safety. Unfortunately, they don’t think to ask or consider that may be the person camping wants to be alone and solitude to relax.

Hi Larry, and Mason! Love all the new gear! Im actually in my little teardrop, in the Ouachita National Forest watching this video. Got here on Friday to ring in the new, and shed the old in nature. Heading home tomorrow, before the bad weather hits this weekend. Really need to do some better insulation in here thats for sure. Find out real quick just how good your heat and stay warm stuff is when the temps drop to the 20s at night. But ive had a great time and thats what matters. I will be out in AZ sometime late Feb. and definitely need to have better warmth in here before i go. Ive always wanted to do a hot tent with the little stove. Guess i might google if anyone has ever done it with a Gazelle T4. Love all the little things like stickers and tins. Most of my stickers are just on the side windows of my Patriot. I have a little metal tin on the inside of my drop that says...Enjoy the little things. That roast looked amazing! And all done on that little stove. Ive looked at those but didnt think you could do much because of the size.

The Stanley French Press would work in any home kitchen, first time I've seen one. Love cooking outside and know it's FUN.
Oh yeah, it would work good in the kitchen or out camping. It’s nice because it keeps your coffee warm between cups.

Yeah, I wish I could’ve gotten Frasier on more videos. Unfortunately, I was so new on the channel when he was alive that most of those videos never did very well. And now they’re so cringe. I can’t watch them. But once in a while, I do turn one on and fast forward to the parts with him in it. 😢 dogs are such amazing companions and they definitely steal our hearts.
Good luck on your UA-cam journey! If I was to offer you any advice, just keep posting videos! No matter how grim the future may seem, just keep posting videos! I wanted to quit my channel probably 200 times and now I am so glad I did not. A good rule of thumb is the first 50 videos usually sort of suck 🤣 so don’t get disappointed if they don’t get a lot of views.

Yeah, I love making coffee and a French press. You can really change the flavor by leaving the coffee in for a longer or shorter period of time. Of course, I always prefer longer. Ha ha ha.

You know the stove is too hot if you notice cherry red circles on the sides😊 Cast iron skillet must be well seasoned, looks like it cooks with ease. Mason deserves all those beds, for being a loyal companion. Always something that needs fixing, good to have the skills to tweak things. Love your videos Larry. Glad you have new cooking options while camping. We live in rural Nebraska and let are big dog Rocky run loose during the day but not after dark. You never know what wild animals are out there and what he might run in to. Yeah, you can never be too safe when it comes to the small pups. I had a fox that walked right up to me a couple weeks ago at camp and I’m so glad I did not have Mason out there.

@@worklessenjoylifemore last week I saw a beautiful red fox 3 times in 1 day. Once when it was still dark and the moon lit it up in the early morning hours and twice during the day. Our little dog is a runner she likes to take off. Better to be safe than sorry.

Oh, a little hint for next time you make a pot roast, get the pan hot hot first add a little oil and season and sear off the meat first. Then add your broth snd veggies. It will add a lot of flavor cooking it that way. 😊

Filters and put a few holes in the side of the oil access panel?
Put in a really good spark plug. Even if jetted for high altitude it should smoke more at lower altitude due to being to rich... that shouldn't be a starting issue

Thank you, 🙏 surprisingly cooking that pot roast on the Dutch oven for such a short period of time was just as tender as any time I’ve had it in a crockpot cooking all day 🤷 I don’t know how that works, but it worked out great!

Use that stand for the fire that you have and then use the coals from the fire for your dutch oven cooking

Awesome video! Couple of dutch oven tips for you: put oil in the bottom of the oven and brown the meat. Take meat out, then put aromatics like onions and garlic in, then the beef broth and huck the meat back in :) I absolutely love my little titanium folding stove and I just got a new Winnerwell nomad view in medium size. Used it everyday for 10 days over Christmas in Banff, Canada, Just enough to get really addicted to it! Cookin' and relaxin'.. just like you said!

I have one ....also when I camp..Also go to lumber yards and they have free bins of odds and ends of Mill ends they are great for the
Little stove.. plus they are free. I go and find pine cones... and they burn long time.

Saw where Palo Verde wood gives you the Quartzite Crud . It's smells when burned . I'm surprised not seeing you doing some Gold panning with all the Black sand . Excellent video !

That little warming/cooking stove is cool. My kids and I use to do lots of tent camping. I think this was the first summer we only got out one time. 😢. Now that they are older and busy working it’s not cool camping with Mom I guess. 😂.. We did rent a tält up on the north shore this summer. Now that was some glamping very fun!
You better tell those kids to make time to go camping with their mom! 🤣 you never too old and busy to go camping! Lol

Hi Larry & Mason great little stoves good deal on the generator, I just picked up a generator as back up will have a vid out on it this week, I have 500 AH of lithium & an extra 270 amp alternator but want to be sure I have back up Great video see ya next week Happy new Year
Wow, it sounds like you have quite the set up! I would like to get a DC to DC charger and a beef up alternator for my truck! I also would like to have 500 amp hours! I only have 200 amp hours.

Hey 👋 hope you’re doing well? Yeah I think I’m just getting more relaxed on camera now that I’m getting to know a lot of the subscribers it feels like I’m truly hanging out with great friends 😊
As for plans in the future, I should have a bathroom remodel video coming up, also a mock breakdown video where I take the tracker out into the mountains and pretend to break down and survive on the gear that I have inside the tracker. I also want to do a hot tent, camping video very soon! Then at the rate the channel is growing I’m hoping I’ll be on the road traveling this spring/summer and maybe head up to Minnesota to visit Kenny Of All Trades to make a collaboration video or two.

The only thing I can think of not to burn is an Oleander shrub. But those are not naturally occurring, and found around houses used for landscape.
Yeah, that’s what a lot of people are saying, so I think you’re right! I have seen those trees or bushes around and I’ll just remember not to burn those in the future! it’s scary how such a simple mistake could turn so bad. I guess it pays to learn about your environment 🤣

Hi Larry, another great, genuine video packed with some really good information, brother man 👍🏻. I was beginning to wonder if you were ever going to put a few cameras on the camper. Glad to see you finally did that, particularly for safety reasons. Thanks for sharing your insights.
Always use a fuel additive to your small engines. I like Sea Foam and use it in everything gas related.
Change out the spark plug. It may be a cheap Chinese plug.
The new stove looks like it would work well with charcoal briskets.
You may want to brown the roast before adding liquid to the pot next time.
Yeah, I use fuel stabilizer every time I put gas in any small engines. I’m not sure what happened that night, but that generator has been working fine ever since.

Oh, you guys should totally get a camper and hit the road! Sometimes it’s a little hard at first figuring things out but then it’s so worth it! I feel like everybody should live a simpler life even if it’s for a short amount of time. It really makes you appreciate life and how wonderful it is!

Someone actually informed me to use better than bouillon cubes 🤷 they said it taste even better than the beef broth in a box! The beef broth taste delicious but I’m curious what the bouillon cubes taste like 🤣
