JazakAllah so much for sharing this. I came across this video after seeing another revert sisters video sharing this Quran. After looking it up i found this video and ended up purchasing this Alhamdulillah ! As someone who was born a Muslim i feel humbled by all the people out there who are reverting back to Islam . It is said that a person who recites the Quran with difficulty is rewarded more for his efforts so please dont feel disheartened by your pronunciation. Insha Allah it will get easier for you. There are so many of us who have been reciting the Quran for decades but still struggle. Its a journey for life and i pray that you inspire many others to join us in this journey. .....Ameen❤❤❤

May Allah reward you manifold for sharing your impressions on the translation you benefited from. Translating Allah’s word from Arabic into any other language is indeed a daunting task. I haven’t had the chance to read this particular translation, but I sincerely pray for the brother who endeavored it with a clear purpose. Our beloved educated brothers and sisters, especially recently reverted, can help other translators to improve their translations through such reviews. If English happens to be your first language or you are well read, you can greatly help in improving such efforts. It will also provide an opportunity for comparing different translations.

So if a grown man marries and has sex with a girl so young she hasn't begun to have periods yet, she has to wait three months to marry again if they divorce. Are you okay with this?@@gavregan7548

What do you mean by a "good translation"? And what's wrong with the long established and universally recognised translations of Sahih International, Pickthall, Yusuf Ali, Shakir, Arberry, Muhammad Sarwar or Mohsin Khan? I suspect that you choose the translations that do because they have used semantics in order to create a translation with which you feel more comfortable. However, you are merely deluding yourself. Islam is is what it is, and not what you want it be, regardless of the author's skill with semantics.
@@GabrieLight: Even if one learns Arabic, in order to understand its meaning, one still has to translate it into one's native language. So why would that provide a better understanding of the Quran than by studying the trusted translations of those such as Yusuf Ali, Shakir, Marmaduke Pickthall, Mohsin Khan etc, all of whom were fluent in classical Arabic?
Thanks for the book suggestion. I have been wanting to finish the Quran, but I struggle with the repetition, shift of first person perspective to third, subject changes and stream of consciousness. It does feel very disjointed at times. But your explanation makes it sound easier than it seems, so maybe I might give it another try.
I'm an Arab Muslim though I still don't speak any Arabic, one of my favorites is the Qur'an by Tarif Khalidi. It's a somewhat new translation, but it's very contemporary, powerful, accessible, and uses English names. Sadly no Arabic version on the side if you're looking for that, but it's recommended by many western and eastern scholars. Also, if you haven't already I'd recommend getting the Study Qur'an! It's a brick, I'll be honest, but it has a lot of scholarly credibility including Joseph Lumbard, a Sufi scholar of Islam. It is a huge Qur'an with giant blocks of commentary clarifying all the interpretations and wording of the verses. Hugely important if you'd like to have some better clarity of the verses.

Exactly why one should have access to many different interpretations, see my comment on the Alim app which is free with no advertising and has 5 English translations plus the original Arabic
I think this is appropriate to use God instead of Allah in the translation because that can help a bigger audience to relate their inner concept of God with the concept of God in Islam. For non-muslims the word Allah might lead them to think that the Quran is talking about the God of Arabs in the beginning of their journey. I also recomment to use the prophets names in Biblical manner for the same reason so that the non-muslims can understand that the Quran is talking about the same Biblical prophets.
Yes... so much for “there is no compulsion in religion.” Always these violent and cruel messages in Quran. Punishments everywhere in the torture chambers of Allah. And then the adoration of death. It is very frightening.
Yes that is really awful if it's true... (yes I know in some countries they use it) A religion you should be allowed to leave without fear if one day you would want to leave it. I am not against any religion per sei... but I have mixed feelings. There are beautiful things in islam too but there are also things that are not "so beautiful". But most important for me is that one must be able to criticize a religion without fear. To question it.

Salaam, I remember when I reverted all the way back in 2002 a Jamaican brother gave me a English translation Quran
@@johnpaul9527 I am a revert of Jamaican descent and I do not see the problem in mentioning where someone is from. We are all muslims at the end of the day. It just adds to the description of an individual or person. And yes, of course this muslim brother or sister would have accepted the Quran from anyone from any background. Please take the time to reflect on why you felt that his or her comment was a problem. Because it really is not.

(It is a decree of Allah for you) that which I have mentioned to you is unlawful in Allah's Book. (Lawful unto you are all beyond those mentioned) as unlawful, (so that ye seek them) marry (with your wealth) up to four wives; it is also said that this means: so that you buy with your wealth captives; and it is also said that this means: so that you should seek with your money marrying women for an agreed period of time (zawaj al-mut'ah) but the lawfulness of this practice was later abrogated, (in honest wedlock) He says: be with them as legitimate husbands, (not debauchery) not indulging in adultery without having a proper marriage. (And those of whom) after marriage (ye seek content) from whom you derive benefit, (give unto them their portions) give to them their full dowry (as a duty) as an obligation upon you from Allah to give the dowry in full. (And there is no sin for you) there is no harm for you (in what ye do by mutual agreement) in increasing or decreasing the amount of the dowry by mutual agreement (after the duty hath been done) after the first obligation to which you have aspired. (Lo! Allah is ever Knower) in relation to making lawful to you marriage for an agreed, limited period of time, (Wise) in later making this practice unlawful; it is also said that this means: Allah is ever Knower of your compulsion for marriage for an agreed, limited period of time, Wise in making such marriage unlawful.

O people, I had permitted you to contract temporary marriage with women, but Allah has forbidden it until the Day of Resurrection.
So he who has any (woman with this type of marriage contract) he should let her off, and do not take back anything you have given to them (as dower).

So, Ibn Abbas is one of the most companions that people spread lies on him, in Qur'an tafsir books you'll find a lot that some reported he said something and then they reported he said an opposite of it!

The Quran teaches that both men and women produce sperm: (He is created from a water gushing forth.) meaning, the sexual fluid that comes out bursting forth from the man and the woman. Thus, the child is produced from both of them by the permission of Allah. Due to this Allah says,
يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَآئِبِ
(Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs.) meaning, the backbone (or loins) of the man and the ribs of the woman, which is referring to her chest. Shabib bin Bishr reported from `Ikrimah who narrated from Ibn `Abbas that he said,
يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَآئِبِ
(Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs.) "The backbone of the man and the ribs of the woman. It (the fluid) is yellow and fine in texture. The child will not be born except from both of them (i.e., their sexual fluids).''

Was the Moon cut in two ?
No. Probably it was an eclipse that Muhammad saw.
@@khaybar6108 God does not know what an eclipse is ?
@@philipcoriolis6614 No, Muhammad didn’t know what an eclipse is that’s why he thought the moon split. God knows what an eclipse is.
@@khaybar6108Does Jibril know what an eclipse is ?
@@philipcoriolis6614 I don’t know if he knows but Muhammad doesn’t hence it says moon split.

As an Arabian, i give credit to Saheeh International, Muhsin Khan, Dr.Ghali.
All translations books can have Arabic beside the translation, i didn't like the Clear one after i noticed some mistakes due to the literal translation (English is poor language).
The better is to have an app to take a look on many translations when you didn't understand some verses, so you get the best understanding.
And the best of all is to learn Arabic, of course.
Stay steadfast, and Salam Alaykum.
I agree.
( play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quran.labs.androidquran )
As an Arab speaker, I use this App with many translations in different languages..
For English my favorites are *Sahih International* and *Dr Mustafa Khattab* (May Allah reward them for their work).
I noticed many translations are added in every update but I haven't tried them to be honest.
_O Allah teach us which is beneficial for us and make us benefit from what you taught us and increase us in knowledge. Ameen_

I agree with you, brother.
I have the same app, but i use more their website it's updated and has Dr. Ghali translation (may Allah have mercy oh his soul).
When I'm talking with non-Arab online, i always open the website, it's more updated, i go to settings, choose many translations in one row so i can compare and choose the best based on my how accurate to my native language.
I always choose (Dr. Khattab, Dr. Ghali, Dr. Muhsin khan, Saheeh international) in one row as i said, and most of time i decide to copy the Saheeh verse to the person i discuss.
_And Allahum Ameen_ 🌱

Well, after i removed the link of website, the comment remained!! 😞
Exactly why one should have access to many different interpretations, see my comment on the Alim app which is free with no advertising and has 5 English translations plus the original Arabic
Thank you very much Sister. For sharing this information with us. May Allah bless you
This is indeed the best translation of Quran today.
There are so many wrong and bad translations out there especially the ones that write in brackets!

The Generous Quran by Osama Dakdok is an accurate translation.
Most accurate by far.
I hope CP writes the translation of the Quran.

Would you recommend getting the soft cover or hard cover?
JazakaAllaah khair for sharing my sister
The only thing I don't like about it: I wish it used the word Allah instead of God
It is using „Allah“… what do you mean?😅 She literally shows the pages.
You need to buy the „Allah Edition“ I think.
May Allah bless you

Did you know that Islam prescribes the death penalty for someone who leaves Islam?
Yes... so much for “there is no compulsion in religion.”
Always these violent and cruel messages in Quran.
Punishments everywhere in the torture chambers of Allah. And then the adoration of death.
It is very frightening.
Yes that is really awful if it's true... (yes I know in some countries they use it)
A religion you should be allowed to leave without fear if one day you would want to leave it.
I am not against any religion per sei... but I have mixed feelings. There are beautiful things in islam too but there are also things that are not "so beautiful".
But most important for me is that one must be able to criticize a religion without fear. To question it.
Ma sha allah
You are doing great 👍 👏 🙌 👌 😊
anyone criticizing will be removed within seconds ...typical Islamic style🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
