...In this episode, I take the snowcat beyond the trail and into the deeper snow...where my old Jag snowmobile cannot go. I spent the night at the Pop-Up Cabin. From there, I headed deeper into the cedar forest to do some selective logging. That's when I ran into a problem...
Afterward, I hauled the felled timber to my sawmill, where my dad and I processed it into cladding for the log cabin.
The Pop-Up Cabin plans (PDF file) can be purchased on Teespring:

A word about safety: Please check the red auxiliary gas tanks you're using on the Snow Cat. My experience is that the vast majority of those red plastic containers are fabricated from a left and right half, which are then electro-statically welded together. I had an experience with using this type of 5 gallon tank on my Yamaha Rhino, which was stored in the bed, similar to your use. After a few months of conventional use (mostly dirt roads), one day the weld seam de-mated and spilled gas into the bed, which is directly over the engine and hot exhaust. Suffice to say I went immediately to my dealer and bought the one piece molded tank. It's much easier to use while filling the vehicle, and I can see exactly how much fuel I have in each tank.

In fact, I am always worried you will get stuck or throw a track or have some other mechanical problem. Your appeal is the craftsmanship and ingenuity of you and your Dad building the cabin, building the pop up cabin, or building and using the traveling cabin. Awesome footage and editing. I love the fact that you put so much effort into making quality videos instead of quantity. The snowcat is awesome. What a machine. I could really use one of those here in central Ontario.

@@lauriehughes8085 - That’s a good question. I don’t see them for sale very often. I’m guessing there aren’t may around and people don’t sell them often. The used ones I’ve seen are $10K-15K.

Glad to see there are a lot of Ontarian’s watching this channel. Winters aren’t the same as I remember as a kid but a Snow Cat would still be awesome.
With the forecast we have this coming week any areas with a lot of snow still will be having flooding.
I still have a lot of snow in Barrie.

    Heyyyyy! You're back! Hurray!
We bought 25 acres of land with a 40' x 40' garage in Muskoka.
I believe we are fairly near to your Grandfather's gorgeous land. We bought the same Woodland Mills HM126 as you from watching your stellar adventures. Thank you!
We are still installing our Woodland with nearing to using it. We are thinking of buying a tractor like yours to help drag the many already fallen trees.
"Hello!" to your Loving wife, your Precious Father and Exceptional Grandfather too.

That Snow Cat seems like a must have. Certainly better than felling the trees and waiting to haul them out with the Massey in the mud.
This weeks forecast of 12*C and rain means the mud will be here soon.

This business of saving money by doing your own logging and milling shows that it takes a lot of labour and equipment to make it happen. And lots of time as you also do a one - man video production of the process. But we love it!
