Hi John, I like your video but it seemed to gloss over the main difference that I was hoping to learn about: key-switches for articulations. I own Session Horns and for the life of me, I can't find a way to assign key-switches to trigger different articulations such as Shake, Staccatissimo, grace notes etc. Yes I can assign ONE articulation to Velocity(hard press) and yet another to the pitch wheel such as a fall (slow or fast) but I can't key-switch my way through say a 4 bar section that maybe starts with staccatissimo, then goes to to long notes, throws in a grace note or two, then marcato and finally a rip. I would need to record separate bits on different tracks at different times to get all of these articulations in one 4 bar segment. (unless I am missing something major here) You did point out this feature on Sessions Horns Pro which is why I am going to upgrade, if only for this feature alone. Thanks again, you're a natural explainer and I enjoyed your comparison.
John though I realize this is a quick overview, you missed a couple of major features. Both have 'Smart Voice Split,' under Voicing Assistant, which intelligently arranges the horns as they would typically be. Pro also offers a game changer- Smart Chord, which generates diatonic chords with the press of a single key- no chords needed! And those chords can be altered with the touch of another button: warmer, more dissonance, etc.
John Mike And you were absolutely right about the difference between Session Horns and Session Horns sound quality. It's not even close. Thanks for posting this video, bro
I did not hear much of a difference, most of the stuff is about effects like compression and eq, which you can add later, and I do prefer to add them later
@@allex4857 I think they were talking about hear as in be told the differences, ie most differences are effect or EQ additional options which can be added post edit I guess. I was thinking the same tbf
Thanks for showing me those riffs! 😂 I’ve been trying to find out how to play that kind of style for a while now and this helped a lot! 🙌🏻 Will be using this in my shout music for church! Also love those Horns!!!
John Mike, Maybe I'm confused. I have Kontakt 9 Ultimate and now I've upgraded to Kontakt 6. So, I have to look and see if Session Horns are in my K9U. Thank you again. John.
2:12: "it could be that". jeez dude. find out if it "is that" then a comparison video from you MIGHT be worth OUR trouble. You got the camera and personality. Look the deets up!!
You got that right. I bought the Mojo Horns bundle based on all the glowing reviews and I'm extremely disappointed in the sound. I could've gotten better sounds from Session Horns Pro or any of the 8dio brass libraries (Studio Sax Trio is the real deal) for far less money.
John, you keep things straight forward yet so detailed. Always love your comparison uploads
Exactly what I was looking for, keep making comparison videos! This stuff is very useful
Wow, sounds amazing!! Would you recommend the pro for live use? I’m creating multi tracks, and need a “realistic” trumpet sim like these!
Go for it!
Thank you, I have both in Komplete 11. This was mad helpful 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

2:37 The features
Great in-depth video, thanks!
Mick Benjamins you are very much welcome!
Hey, nice vid! I have the regular version but it seems that the keyswithing isn't available actually so I'll need to upgrade to the Pro version
Love this channel. Thanks

Can we play horn session live performance?
Please do more sound comparison in the mix. that would help a lot
I'm new to horns & brass. I'm curious as to why you always play your riffs in octaves. Why not just play one note at a time?
Thank you bro, real helpful!
Now you got me using that word "tweekability" now , my brotha
🤣🤣

Super detailed. Thanks!
Love your work man.
Thanks
great comparison , thanks
Great review!
Great video! One question though...when you track horns, do you usually track in two octaves?
+Alberto Camacho thanks! It depends on what I’m working on
Tks for this info bro!
Native Instruments really needs to work on their trumpet samples. Good gah.
They sound OK, at least in terms of articulations this is far cheaper than an arranger keyboard
like Yamaha Tyros 5, Genos or Korg PA-5X.
Great Demo and Video.... Trev
Hola maestro soy de ecuador como puedo tener esas trompeta cuanto vale el vst

so you can't play single instruments in session horns?
Not the original
John Mike damn that sucks, thanks

Lol
great video
Thank you for your demo, John Mike. Is Session Horns Pro in Kontakt already or Do you buy it? Same question for Session Horns.
You’re welcome! And no you have to buy it separately...unless you buy Komplete ultimate...then you get everything they make

Mojo is overpriced, so Session Horns is a better deal....

Nice vid
But it would be nice if you mute your mic while you playing its kind of annoying listen to the 🎹
Great review!
