Really helpful tips, thanks for sharing, been using keyshot for a while and never pay attention to some of the features just cuz I can get the job done, but it can get done better and more efficient with some of the features you show here I was wondering about the weldings on your 3D model, are they made completely only with material editor? or are they actual geometry? I would love to know how you made those.
Great tutorials Liam, following and watching each one, thanks! Seeing the errors in the the SW tree gave me the heebee-jeebies but my maybe that's just me :)
regarding option "Use gloss instead of roughness for materials": as said Søren(keyshot developer) "the settings in preferences do not apply to texture maps" so it would be still roughness but not gloss - www.keyshot.com/forum/index.php?topic=13729.0
Thanks for this, really helpful. My heads-up display is showing samples per second instead of FPS. What's the difference and is there a way to toggle that? I couldn't find it in the user manual.
Maybe you can tell me what to do Liam. Everytime I take my keyshot to my maximum CPU usage I get the heating sound.. i need to drop it down to 25 and it stops the sound. Why is that? Am running a 32 thread pc with a 8 GB graphics card and 64 gigs of ram.. every since I upgraded to keyshot ver. 7 and now 8. I need to keep my CPU usage to the minimum or else it make the heating sound. Am going to do what you mentioned over in this video to see if theres something am missing that will allow me to work at least on 75% CPU usage.. Any tips in top of your head?. Thanks and as always, great vid. Cheers!
If they're properly cooled then no, 25% is really low. Maybe check out getting some new fans or coolers for them? Could be a build up of dust in there as well? Highly recommend Noctua if you want things quiet.
@@LiamMartinTutorials thank you. I'll check them out. But it's just funny that starting playing with keyshot v.7 n v8 it started to heat up. Previous versions before 7 I was doing 100 of usage and rendering fast as lighting. I'll look into buying new fans and coolant... thanks playa!
@@zuvince sure, yeah. It's probably the best value CPU available new right now and eight cores is a great. Personally though, GPU rendering (though buggy) is the way forward. It's simply too fast
Bits of gold... more like a freaking ingot. Thanks, Liam!
this is the best keyshot intro I've ever seen
thank you very much for the tutorial
Pleasure!
6:09 it will link materials too. if you don't want to link materials, use shift+ctrl + left click to copy right click to paste
Brilliant once again
Mate, this tutorial is GOLD! Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks!!! Great tips!!

plz make a video on switch render

非常感谢!
Sweet ass always hahahaha.
GREAT stuff eh!
Nice video - oddly my FPS drops from 155 to 122 when I click on performance mode??
BTW how did you welding effect? On Keyshot right?
Whenevr I use performance mode, it kills all lighting entirely. I get zero preview of what my lights are actually doing.
That's what Performance Mode is for. So you can quickly move geometry and cameras.
@@LiamMartinTutorials Ah, why does your performance mode still show the lighting though? Mine just flattens out everything.
Maybe you can tell me what to do Liam.

Sounds like your CPU is overheating, causing the fans to ramp up. What PC you on?
@@LiamMartinTutorials it's a pc I build 4 years ago. But it shouldn't be heating up like that or should it?
Dual xeon processors 3.10 ghz.

Thank you! OMG 14 cores! What CPU do you have?
AMD 2700X. Its an 8 Core cpu, but with 16 threads, which Keyshot treats as cores.
@@LiamMartinTutorials Thank you for reply! Would you recommend this CPU for rendering?
