I’m familiar with Antonio Machado’s "Caminante, No Hay Camino”, because Joan Manuel Serrat (Cantares) and Las Bistecs (Caminante) both uses the poem in their songs. There's a lot of great Spanish music!
@@Terrk-wt9hw Why getting so angry? I am talking about similar videos. If you watch Jay Leno's interviews in the streets, asking people basic questions, their answers are not only wrong, but also stupid. I wonder if they would know who the hell is Emerson or Thoureau. English is not my native language, but I read both. If the Spaniards mention El Quijote, it is because they read it in school, so they know what they are talking about. My first language is Spanish; these people speak it beautifully, you can tell they have a very good educational system over there. Of course, in the USA there are many educated people, but too many idiots too, otherwise how the hell do you explain an imbecile like Trump in the White House?
@@studywithsylvana I am not. English is not my native language. As a spaniard I recommend for any foreigners that want to start reading spanish literature to go with El Lazarillo de Tormes. It is a book of unknown author from around the XV century because it would have been censored by the catholic church if the writer would dare to come out. Its a book with class perspective that speaks volumes of spanish society. Im surprised it didnt come out in the video since it is a classic, the second most important one i would say after the quixote. But unlike many books mentioned in the video it doesnt require any knowledge of spanish history or culture to understand it, many of the books mentioned are too complicated for foreigners as a starter. Its set on medieval spain but the topics that the books touches are absolutely constant in spanish culture and present nowadays. And you can even trace many real world spanish political struggles to the book. I strongly suggest to begin with this one since it would be the easier to understand and get into, only have to rely on a dictionary for a few words that are not present anymore in modern spanish.
Commonly we use to say that our most universal book is the Quixote but,.. the exemplar nobels of the own Cervantes are masterpieces,.. the book of the good love from Hita’s Archipriest,.. rhymes and legends from Beqcker,.. so extense,..

Vivo lejos de España y estos vídeos me hacen sentir más cerca de mi cultura y mi tierra. Gracias.
The type of test in which most Americans fail. The Spaniards get everything right, they almost feel offended such questions are asked to them.❤

Awesome video thank you
