I am guessing they want to get the full county licensed too and after that they might introduce those domestic competitions.

Go to team manager - select team -- squad -- then add player and add players you want

How to update the players in career mode teams? After the download my career team still shows old players

Yes this happened while they were trying to fix the marker issue of online play. Others are also reporting it. Might be good idea to raise a ticket
