I feel like giving a standing ovation in my home like I just saw a pitcher give up a perfect game in the 9th. Incredible effort, right to the end. But more than anything, appreciate your positive and uplifiting attitude. So glad I found your channel. Onward!
As sad as it is to see the streak end, I’m glad u made it till the end of the heart for this run. It really did feel like u were fighting the odds for the entire run, and the fact u made it so far is a testament to your skill. GG Baalorlord, GG.
An incredibly tense end to a world-record run, I couldn't have asked for anything better today! It's really sad to see the loss, but you took it like a champ and played so darn well! Genuinely impressed and inSPIREd by your gameplay!
I love the dynamic of, guy wins 20 runs in a row at the hardest difficulty, the most consecutive wins ever - then loses and gets advice on why he lost from the youtube commenters. And I'll say I'm not above them, you should have known you were going to get dead branch and skipped choker. Duh.
I know what you are trying to say, but choker with snecko eye is just not a good idea. Snecko is good because sometimes you get those turns in which you can play loads of cards. Taking those turns away just reduces the average benefits that Snecko gives massively. And it was up against the Kite which would have gone off nearly every turn, so he would have had 4 energy anyway, especially since he had an entire act worth of card rewards to increase his discard density. The Branch had nothing to do with why it was a bad choice, I assume he was just tired because I can't imagine him making that mistake normally...
@Kholdaimon I don't think his deck up to that point was reliant on playing a lot of cards, the main benefit he was getting from snecko was the extra draw. And snecko can hurt Kite too if you roll bad on your acrobatics' cost. I think choker might help you avoid the worst case scenario at the cost of the best case, while Kite feels like it could be more feast or starve
@@bito2041 But you can add more discard cards to increase the consistency of kite (and he did add more discard cards), while you can't minimize the downside of Choker. And if you just look back at the fights after he got the Choker you will see that there was barely a turn where he didn't discard cards, but there were plenty where Choker hurt him... As I said, one of the reason Snecko is great is because you can get amazing turns, if you take that possibility away with Choker, Snecko becomes a lot worse...
What’s crazy to me is that after such a tough run it essentially came down to a 50/50. If the heart did it’s multiattack on the last turn instead of the big attack he wins.
So crushing to hear the excitement when Malaise+ showed up in turn 1 of the heart fight while already knowing the result D: Amazing how far you took this run
I always pictured the mystic to be the centurian's mother making sure he's well fed with all the heals and looking after him, and that's why he goes mental when you kill his mother
GGS LETS GO BAALOR!!! KEEP IT GOING! I will keep on watching as I love seeing the struggles then success, such as the defect run that went sour for a while!
gg Baalor, I knew this was the end but watched anyway to see how it went. So close, that deck was rough all the way through and you still almost pulled it off. A 20 win streak is a true testament to your StS dominance, gg sir!
There was so many times I would have assumed youd been doomed if it wasnt for how these videos are whole runs. Must have been real insane to watch in real time.
My favorite baalor moment was when someone wagered their points on a really bad dad joke and he read it and then immediately said “give me those points!” Hahahaha it was awesome.
The thing with early cultist potion is that it can be thought of as 3 extra damage turn 1, then 6, 9, 12, 15, etc if you make full use out of the effect by playing at least 3 attack cards every turn. So basically an extra 30 damage if you attack 3 times a turn for 4 turns. Of course, sometimes you'll have more in cases with Blade Dance, Dagger Spray, or any free damage cards like Neutralize or other multi-hit attacks, but early on, with mostly single instance attacks, it'll turn out to be around 20-30 extra damage in 4 turns which is a good way to telegraph how well off you'll be in those turns against Lagavulin or Nob where you're on the clock.
You are incredible Baalor, not sure anyone could do any better than you did this run, not a failure just a chance to set a record you will surely beat :)
Amazing streak. Even managed to get to the heart with this deck with a pretty decent shot at winning it. Velvet choker as usual proving its not the best boss relic for silent more often than not, I really hate it on this class in particular. That hovering kite would have helped more for sure, although you could not have known dead branch would come and even then not sure if the run would be winnable. Definitely a tough heart battle regardless. Most of us would have died on this run like way earlier. Great series all throughout, I particularly appreciated the explanations and thought procedure at various intersections in the game as well as on the card picks. Definitely a super learning experience. Cheers and gratz for that insane streak!

Snecko eye is an absolute curse lol I never take it cos, while extra draw is awesome, I always just get a full hand of 3 cost cards and die so quickly. You make it look so easy!
@@ThePackman1010 since this comment, I have learned when to take it and when not to (mostly through these videos). Just needed to learn more!
Too bad, I think the choker was probably a mistake when you already had some discards in the deck, but hindsight is of course 20/20. Extremely impressive run!
@@Naughty_Spongebob He didn't spend 4 energy on any turn of double orb walkers except the last one where he played malaise for no reason. I think you're also discounting the fact that he wouldn't have just not had choker, he would have had either kite or astrolabe to improve his odds.
I knew the streak was 20, but didn't know anything about this run - so I was wondering almost every minute if it was about to end (and perhaps have some spoiler-protection time afterwards). To make it all the way to the Heart, and even then to eke out every skerrick of survivability - incredible run!
The debuff is removed without the strength coming back. The result of this is the Awakened One (and Time Eater) "forget" they had strength to begin with. Do NOT try this with the Heart, though. You will die. Painfully.
Oof that whole run was a "visible struggle". That was a tough run starting ACT 2 onwards and very well played by you. Ofcourse this is hindsight 20/20 but I was hoping you would buy Tactician instead of Waffle from ACT 2 shop for your energy problems as you would be having 3 discards including 2 Acrobatics. Not to mention Tactician isn't affected by Snecko variance either.
A few bosses (Slime Boss, Champ, Time Eater) change their behavior at half health. It's often better to get them close to half without going over than blitzing ahead. Slime Boss splitting at 75 is often a death sentence, for instance

What a heartwrenching run. He really couldn't catch a fucking break the whole time All the comments criticizing snecko and choker not realizing he wouldn't have gotten to the heart in the first place without them
It’s poetic that Baalor overrating Snecko is what got him killed. I’ve noticed his 2 biggest leaks are overrating Snecko and never rejecting it, and wasting potions by never playing them and having to discard them. Particularly the block potion.
I'm only at 48:48, but I wonder how much health he would have saved if he had applied the corpse explosion to the dead rat to deal the damage to the shelled parasite. But that's purely armchair quarterbacking. My suggestion being the right play, if it is, at that moment doesn't mean it's the smartest play to make every time in that situation.
I'm so suprised to see Baalor, such a methodical player, always being so ready to grab Snecko Eye, the most random-based relic, even if he rarely actually grabs it. I feel like that's one of the worst relics in the game as it can kill the run in the first fight after obtaining it. But I guess it does make for spicier content.
So clear this up for me: why would anyone take Velvet Choker with Snecko Eye? Just seems like a poor choice, given the random nature of Snecko eye potentially making your entire hand cost 0
