During the operation, officials found over 40 tiger cub corpses as well as numerous body parts from other animals preserved in freezers. Why must humans ruin everything? They were doing such a good thing but had to destroy it by being greedy and hurting the creatures they claim they loved. There is a part of me that wants to believe that this is fake or a conspiracy made by the government to close down the temple or something, but I know that's not the case.
My guess is that it's not spirit of the monks nor drugs - it's depression. They need to be tigers - even domestic tom cats go out an hunt. These are reconditioned prisoners. I can't claim whether it's better or worse than extinction and people arguing over it have no idea what it's like to be one of these tigers; talking as if they know. They need proper food. It seems to me (can't claim to be certain) that the food isn't drugged, it's just not nutritious. My argument is that poachers are the problem, as well as people who buy parts of tigers.
@@juliesmith1334 Yeah I have two cats and they doesn't half crash every 3 jumps when I play with them... Watching closely, the employees are too much confident and cocky around those, I'm more careful when I turn my back of my 3kg cat, I barely imagine how trusty I would be it it was 300 ^^
I don't think so there are other places like this temple that don't do that. These Tigers have the disposition of a trained animal not a tamed animal they're used to being around people And as such they don't see them as threats. You know there's probably about at least 6000 Tigers that are kept privately as pets in America and you can actually keep them but you have to raise them from an extremely early age as in before they open their eyes I know many cat breeders that will tell you that with wildcats the smaller the cat the more aggressive and ferocious they are I was even told once that if you work with a tiger not just keep one as a pet but truly work with it they have better temperaments than most dogs

It’s a sad place I’ve been there it’s nothing like what they are showing here. The day I went there was a loud mouth from the USA with a bullhorn. Telling the crowd what to do. There was one monk one tiger and at least thee hundred tourists. Don’t forget the volunteers get to stay in Thailand for free. More money just means a lucky few people like the vet are very rich . My trip there ended with my Thai wife being so upset. By the treatment of the tiger that we left in tears. The worst part is that there is no temple at the tiger site
This place was raided and closed in 2016. The monks were suspected of selling tiger body parts on the black market. I don't know if they were killed for that purpose or died of natural causes. They found tiger skins, bones, teeth, amulets made of body parts, cubs preserved in jars, more dead cubs in a freezer. I think they even caught a monk trying to escape with hundreds of body parts during the raid. The government confiscated the tigers and over half of them died in their custody.
I'm all for helping the Tigers, and I'm glad this place allows them to reproduce. However I'm not a fan of the crampt stone floors of their sleeping pens. That part isn't natural and I'm not a fan of the chain link cages, but other than that this place doesn't seem to bad. I've see Zoo's with worse conditions than this, the tigers are fed properly and are given exercise, they are allowed to socialize with other tigers and people and are allowed to reproduce. Maybe the monks could use the money they are gaining from the tourists to buy more land/get better cages or improve the flooring for the tigers. And on the premise of money, they have how many tigers on the facility? over a hundred I think they mentioned. For those who think the monks are abusing these animals for personal gain is wrong. They have to make some form of money to cover the costs of upkeep for this sanctuary, you can't take care of over a hundred breeding tigers for free it doesn't work like that. I'd like to think these monks are using the money the tourists give them to improve/take care of the tigers.
I'm glad to have seen this and then read the update. The tigers were heavily inbred and possibly sold for-profit, and were removed from this place. many died due to complications.
Whatever the controversies are been done..... More than that this noble cause is.... Much impressed to watch and know about the conservation and such a friendly environment given to the beasts
I saw a news report from 2016 that mentioned this place and how there were 40 dead tiger cubs that were found here. They were probably going to be sold for body parts. The tigers are drugged aswell which is why they are so calm. These people don't care about protecting tigers and only care about the money. Just because they say they are monks doesn't mean they actually care about helping the tigers.
@@imwaytoshort You are insane. Hundreds of Thousands to take care of a few hundred tigers is peanuts, where is the exploitation? They have simple houses and simple clothes and give food and medication. Have you been to a vet before? If the monks can earn obscene money from that measly amount and take care of tigers and the temple I think they should be hired as CEO worldwide.
Everything in this temple is completely wrong. Normally tamed tigers don't act like so sleepy all day unless their drugged. These monks earn so much money every year, how come they don't buy lands to expand and make that money to make their own paradise. That vet only cares for money. “Give me freedom or give me death” Is my opinion and I’m sure these KINGS of the jungle would agree. In the end even with the best intentions this is just perverse. The definition of “Preservation” is all perspective in this situation. True Preservation to me means keeping something living and true to itself.
These tigers are sleepy and laid back because of their lifestyle. They don't get lots of exercise so they become lazy and they don't feed them blood to suppress their instincts. These make them less agressive. That's why they seem less like a normal wild tiger.
Well I mean if they want to domesticate it for future generation as pets, they need to size these things down big time. Even pets now days can go berserk, imagine a 600 lb tiger pissed off at the park.
Well because the deepest truth that most people never realize is that you can never ever 100% tame any animal your border collie or your horse or your parrot or ferret Is just as capable of losing it and attacking you or even killing you as any wild animal
so true. bc of us there's no wild to go back to. most of those tigers, if wild, would be dead. there's a reason tigers are endangered. They can't survive out there and it's showing through their dwindling numbers.
They aren't being abused. They are taken care of well and they have a good life. Sure they are on a leash but they are able to live freely and well. They're trying to help these animals, the vet is clearly trying his best to make sure their happy and healthy as well as many of the other staff there. Honestly their doing well and I'm glad these animals are being treated with respect.
If they truly cared they would not allow people to interact with them. Go check out big cat rescue and see how it's done. This is all exploitation for money.
Agree. They should be protected but also left where they are happiest in the jungle. Even my cat loves to go outside to do as cats do.. hunt, stalk play...but I do keep him healthy shots etc
I feel like they are drugged. Even if they do sleep 20 hours a day, missing out on sleep wouldn't make you calm. Even if you are tired, and see an unknown person show up, you will naturally perk up. Out of curiosity. Those tigers looked dazed.
I visited the park before the corona outbreak, I could not believe what I saw, the term “drugged animal” was on a whole new level. As I was heading to the toilet close the jungle, I heard a noise of something like a lighter being sparked in the thick bushes followed by a sounds of twigs breaking when you gently step on them... Silent as I could be, I worked my way around the thick bushes so I could see what the source of this weird sounds was and right as I cleared the bushes, my heart instantly dropped. The head monk sitting in the middle of five tigers. It looked like the scene like in the movies. Jesus christ! I know tigers can slap someone to death but I NEVER KNEW OR SAW that Tigers can grab objects with their paws. I was in disbelief!!! When I saw one of the tiger taking a deep good hit and passed the bong back to the headmaster monk. The monk loaded the bong with another bowl and passed it to the last Tiger sober that was growling in hesitation. It was a trippy experience for sure because it was one of those things where you need to see to believe it otherwise it is just a crazy story ;)

There is a part of me that wants to believe that this is fake or a conspiracy made by the government to close down the temple or something, but I know that's not the case.
Oh horrible.
They are so drugged.. or they will jump or attack or play.. they cannot be that relaxed with loads of people... very wrong
@Dark of the knight i have been to the tiger Temple for sure they are drugged..
Just saw a news article about half of the tigers that were “rescued” from this temple have now died. A fine lesson in leaving well enough alone.
I protect my assets too. JS
so tigers were taken from this temple as "rescues" but died soon afterward?
@@mysteradio yes the western people complain about the tigers so much so Thai left them in wild and they died in 1 month all 78 tigers
So sad that they bowed to western pressure. The west thinks we're so smart.
Damn that's sad

Wrong. Take a look at Sundarban National Park in India.
they were literally killing and selling tigers and tiger parts on the black market!
in all honestu sinohibiden is kind of right. thats not living. id rather die than be kept like a toy.
The government confiscated the tigers and over half of them died in their custody.
try to shower a domestic kitten first and then speak
Oof
Im bleeding
got three scratches this morning 😂😂
Tigers love water.
Conservation of Tigers doesn't have to be like this. Take a look at Sundarban National Park in India.
I'm glad to have seen this and then read the update. The tigers were heavily inbred and possibly sold for-profit, and were removed from this place. many died due to complications.
Living side by side peacefully with these animals isnt something to be frowned upon
Whatever the controversies are been done..... More than that this noble cause is.... Much impressed to watch and know about the conservation and such a friendly environment given to the beasts
The thing about them using the tigers for money is stupid because they need money to take care of the tigers properly
Don't tigers eat like 15-20 lbs of protein daily? Could you imagine that x100!?!? no shit they need money.
Place has been shut down I think
Everything in this temple is completely wrong. Normally tamed tigers don't act like so sleepy all day unless their drugged. These monks earn so much money every year, how come they don't buy lands to expand and make that money to make their own paradise. That vet only cares for money. Who in the right mind vet feeds a tiger who'se a pure carnivore a boiled chicken. Do his school when he was still a vet student didn't taught them about animal nutrition? Gosh! Even I mix raw meat and raw eggs in the food of my dogs when I fed them.
Question is, it takes thousands of pounds of raw fresh meat to feed these guys.... where are these passive Buddhist monks getting it?

You could search wikipedia about the Tiger temple and you can find the reality
A true sanctuary won't interact with the tigers, just like @BigCatrescue and @bigcatderek, this looks more like a petting Zoo than a legit tiger conservation sanctuary.
Shame, with such wages as they have from tourists, this temple should be lined with gold everywhere and people who "work" for them should they pay hard workers a fair remuneration for taking care of these tigers and not that they work for free

Those tigers that were shown to the public weren’t chuffing, which means “im not a threat to you”, meaning that none of the tigers were comfortable with humans. No wonder a person got bit. Not even the employees are mimicking the chuffing to show they are friendly.
God bless these people that revere nature and the glorius tiger! It's so sad that most people don't care that these majestic creatures probably will go extinct in this century!
The sad face of the tiger at the end of this video is like " I have enough of the evilness of the human race in this world", that he is so desperate and depressed :(

late-May 2016, police and wildlife officials began an operation to remove all living tigers at Tiger Temple. During the operation, officials found over 40 tiger cub corpses as well as numerous body parts from other animals preserved in freezers. According to a representative of the Department of National Parks, the tiger cubs had died only a short time before the raid. The temple, however, had not reported the birth of any tigers for months. This was seen as a sign for hidden illegal breeding. Some twelve living hornbillswere also confiscated as being possessed without a license.[17] The abbot's secretary was stopped from leaving the site with over 1000 amulets containing pieces of tiger skin, two whole tiger skins, and nine or ten tiger fangs.[18] He and four other persons are investigated for alleged wildlife smuggling.[19]The temple was closed to the public at the beginning of the raid. On 3 June, another thirty carcasses of tiger cubs were found in containers with English-language labels, suggesting that they might have been for sale.[20] Since its founding in 1994, the temple has profited greatly from tourism while billing itself as a spiritual organization dedicated to wildlife conservation.[18]
A real facility should be established with no contact with humans and let them breed naturally. This makes me sick. Taming an animal takes away its instinct. Just imagine the good we can do. But the truth is sad.

That's why they seem less like a normal wild tiger.
yeah, it's true
A tiger is still a tiger. You turn your back to it and your a gonner. Natural instincts.

I feel like they are drugged. Even if they do sleep 20 hours a day, missing out on sleep wouldn't make you calm. Even if you are tired, and see an unknown person show up, you will naturally perk up. Out of curiosity. Those tigers looked dazed.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't tigers supposed to eat raw meat since cooked chicken can have very sharp bones?
Umm what do you think they eat in the wild?
