David A Because the system for soccer in the US is broken and revolves around money rather than skill where in other countries it’s quite the opposite. Most talented footballers came from nothing, but in the US all the players you see come from wealthy families who pay for their kids to play

In other parts like in South America you already have 15-16 year old kids with professional contracts that would annihilate American University teams. US Soccer needs to step up.

Dodgerblue 1792 nothing we can do about it. the government only cares about money so our youth system is extremely corrupt and not making the best of our large population. for example academies require you to pay a lot of money even if you were the best player in the world at your age and you legally can’t sign contracts or transfer until you’re 18

The lack of skill in these goals clearly shows soccer in the us is a pay for play system. Not all of the goals, but most are the result of haphazard brute force.

Terrible games. First game how is the second goal not a foul when the goalie has the ball in hand and the opposing striker fouls him to put the ball in the goal. D1 refs are horrible I see why mls refs are just as bad.
It wasn't a foul. The ball was never in the keeper's hands. The field player out-jumped the keeper, connected with the ball first, and then made contact with the keeper. This video didn't show any of the other angles, which are included in other sources. I thought it looked like a foul, too, when I first saw it, but it was definitely a correct non-call. A keeper can't just move into an attacking player's run and stand there and draw a foul; this isn't basketball.
