- This is a video of a box wedge specific 22-28. A box wedge specific 22-28 has a pull back arm on it to retrieve the block of wood after it has been split. With this set up you are limited to a 4 way, 6 way or Box wedge. The 8 way and 12 way wedges aren't available with this configuration.
Let me know if you have any questions guys.

I like that you gave a demo on a difficult log. Most I've seen show only the easy ones. Thank you
I've always liked your honest demonstrations on youtube
Hey bud! I love the "not always a rose garden" comment. Reminds me of some family out Timmins way. Props on using the gnarly knotted wood. An honest demo. Cheers from Alberta...
Great demo. Appreciate the honesty of showing the nasty, twisted cross-split too. I don't think anyone would, or should, expect any better outcome. Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback. It's always great to hear from you!!
I have a homemade box-wedge splitter. Coming from someone with experience, you have an impressive machine. I love that you can adjust the thickness of the splits by raising or lowering the wedge.
Thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback!! It is very much appreciated
Hey Andrew, Just come off Bucking Billy Ray's site where you gave him an Axis splitter. Good on you mate. You're both good men and the fire wood / tree feller community will see and appreciate your gift. The karma thing rolls around, well done.
Thanks Tom. I hope buckin gets to help out lots of people with it. Really appreciate the feedback and support
Great demo Andrew. Verry transparent on how the "Ugly Wood" goes through. Can't wait to take delivery on mine in March.
It definitely is not always a rose garden lol!!
Been in firewood for 35 years and only the best equipment survived.
You guys make a great product I have seen them at the trade shows many times as well so talk with you.
Straight up awesome guys !!!!
Thabks for the feedback and support. We really appreciate it
Andrew what a beast. This 22-28 with a box wedge is the machine. Add a conveyor to fill your trailer or bin and you're in heaven.
I must say your time spent on producing quality UA-cam productions is appreciated and way ahead of your competitors and your machines are better both technically and mechanically.
I'm down in New Zealand cutting 50 -75 cube a year with an old local engineering shop hand made thing.
Would give a fair bit to get this machine, but the transport and tax means I'm going to be dreaming of winning the lottery before I get it.
Its free gym membership tho, and I can dream of your 22-28. Keep up the good work, I'm sure you're selling these and the Axis look great as well.
Thanks for the feedback and support Tom. It's very much appreciated
You will find that this old retired engineer knows his trade..been designing stuff like that for 40 years..the difference between my work and yours is,my stuff went straight to the job,had to be perfect every time and last year's...you guys got a good product and looks good...now,to reap the max reward, design and build a custom stove to go with your product...make it outperform the competition..that's where it all headed in the future.wood heat is coming back fast..it's the only way to go..I have had it all at one time or another, and wood out does all the others.. people need a totally automatic stove to use.. there is you a challenge..good job..
Love it!!!! The best I seen!!! See you at Paul bunyan show!
What a great logspltter I,m amazed what it can do we bought a Timber Wolf TW HV2 it was for and what a big mistake didn’t realize that there were a lot better ones out there been watching you since you have a great machine I like the 22-28👍🏻!!
The 22-28 would be compared to a Timberwolf alpha 6 a tw2 is way smaller
That is a very impressive machine, Andrew!
Nice! I was thinking of eventually selling some firewood and campwood that looks like the tool for the job!
Great splitter!!!
👍 Thank you!
Very informative video!
Thank You for the Demo!
Thank you for the response!!!
So anxious to get my 22-28! December of 2022!
Nice job proper setup 👍
Thanks for the feedback
Nice! Well designed!👍🏼🇱🇷
Could you give some details on the folding measuring arm on your saw? Good idea especially on the folding feature. Maybe you should market this.
Sweet machine 👍👍
That's probably the best log splitter I've seen. Makes me want to quit my downtown Los Angeles high rise job and go into the firewood business.
Thanks for the feedback steve. I appreciate taking to time out of your day to do so
Must be some good welds there bud!!
Your machine are the best!!! 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks for the feedback
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters Are these machines available in the UK, or are they able to be exported? Many thanks.

Looks good Might have to trade up
Nice!
impressive !
Thanks!
that stringy cut wood starts burning quicker, i take all i can get good vid THANX
Thanks for the comment. Its much appreciated
Хорошо придумали 👍
For the log splitter and the parts featured in this video what would the entire configuration cost for someone to buy it?
I want one of these for the trunk lines
Unless the pieces are round with no knots it won’t be the same size. And where it splits doesn’t mean that’s where it’s pushing threw the die. So you end with a lot of shake. I know I built mine and found it easier to just have a 4 way or 6 wedge
This is my next machine
Классный агрегат!!
Can the log lift be put on either side of the 22-28?
We can build it either way
Awesome guys. Hey is that brand skid steer any good? Would love a honest opinion. Obviously ur splitters are too dogs
How much dose the 22-28 splitter cost with box weag
How strong is your hydraulic cylinder on retraction?
Can you split on the return stroke?
No...the wedge is on the end of the machine and stationary
So are you saying if the 22-28 is order with the pull back arm set up you wont be able to use the 8 and 12 way wedges?
Yes. You cant run a 12 Wayne 8 way with this setup
impresive
Thank you
When he said Knotty wood i heard Naughty wood! Hahaha. We used to call those resulting odd shape/mis-shapen pieces of firewood "uglies"
What splitter is the smallest that can have a box wedge placed on it?
The 5-11
If yus have any questions. I'm guessing Eastonmade is Canadianmade judging by buddys accent eh. Nice splitter bud. Where you located.
Perth Ontario
do you have any plans for a integrated conveyor box wedge compatible machine?
Yes; we have got some new equipment at the shop now. You will likely see us do that in the next coupe of months
Looking to buy a new splitter really like that set up what would that set up cost me and what would be the shipping I'm in ohio
Freight to ohio is $1000
Where can I get one and how much they cost
That’s awesome, what size cylinder is on that?
5"
Eastonmade Wood Splitters what size pusher
17" tall x 16"wide
I really like the measureer on the chainsaw. Where would you find one? Your accent sounds east coast? PEI or Cape breton.. I am a islander from New Brunswick. Lol
Lol I get that a lot. Its pretty specific to our area of ontario I guess. I bought the measuring stick at a local saw shop. Can't seem to find them online anywhere
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters lol, good . I am not the only one. Is your second biggest splitter . 5 11? Can you tow that brute with a ATV?
@@mottom2033 yes you can lol
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters shipping to new Brunswick expensive?
@@mottom2033 probably around $1200...we're about 10 hours to edmundston
Where the hell was this 20 years ago???
Did Timberwolfs patent run out?
Wasnt aware they had a patent on it. I know them personally and they have never mentioned it
All I want for Christmas. 🙄
had one very close to that one messy to much left overs
Andrew. I have a 12-22 on order with you guys. I ordered a pizza wood box wedge for it. Will it have the pull back arm on it?
It will have a pull back arm. All the new models can go either way.
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters
Thanks.
What kind of tonnage do yall run in this machine?
37 ton
How much wood will this splitter split per hour?
I have the 12-22, so same overall frame, but smaller hydraulics, but working alone I get about 3/4 cord an hour, with a helper I can get 1+cord per hour, and a bit more if it's clean, even sized and straight grain...
@@cherieberrymanbeyer4899 What wedges do you use?
@@cherieberrymanbeyer4899 any regrets on the 12-22? If you were to do it over would you go with the 22-28?
Is a box wedge fitable to the big circular saw processors you have please?
Can it be done? Yes. Is it going to take a welder on your end? Yes. We cant build it ourselves but it can be done and does work well
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters thank you kindly
What is maximum log length on 12-22
24"
What is the pull back force
3.5 tons
*I ordered the 22-28 with 6 way wedge and the additional 7 way box wedge. I was thinking of adding the 36 inch stroke to my order Instead of the 24 inch stroke.
But I have some questions, that may also help other viewers as well when making this decision on a longer 36 Inch stroke. ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS WILL HELP ME & MAYBE OTHERS, MAKE A BETTER DECISION OF WHICH STROKE LENGTH TO CHOOSE?*
*QUESTION 1. By having the additional stroke length of 36", Does the 7 way box wedge still work? Or Does it have to have a special design to work In the longest stroke position where splitting very long wood? THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME, BECAUSE I'M CURIOUS OF THE MAXIMUM LENGTH OF WOOD THAT CAN BE INSERTED TO SPLIT, WITH THE ADVERTISED 36" STROKE on a 22-28 AND 7 WAY BOX WEDGE INSTALLED, AND ALSO WITH THE 6 WAY WEDGE INSTALLED?
*QUESTION 2. If adding 36" Stroke to a 22-28 option with the adjustable stroke stop, WHAT DOES THE CYCLE TIME DROP TO AT FULL, 36" STROKE COMPARED TO 24" STROKE, BOTH AT THEIR MAXIMUM RESPECTIVE LENGTHS?*
*QUESTION 3. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN CYCLE TIME BETWEEN THE 36" & 24" on a 22-28 " IF YOU WERE TO SET THE 36" STROKE AT 24", COMPARED TO THE 24" STROKE? WOULD THEY BE THE SAME CYCLE SPEED IF 36" STROKE IS SET TO 24" TO MATCH THE STROKE LENGTHS OF THE 24" STANDARD STROKE MODELS?* IF NOT, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN CYCLE TIMES, When they are both set to same Length stroke of 24"?*
*QUESTION 4. IF THE 22-28 24" STROKE MODEL PUTS OUT 37 TONS OF FORCE, DOES THE 22-28 with 36" STROKE PUT OUT MORE FORCE? IF SO, WHAT TONNAGE?*
*QUESTION 5. WHAT CAN I SAY IF YOU ARE ANSWERING THESE 22-28 QUESTIONS AND ARE NOW ON QUESTION 5? OTHER THAN, I APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSES!*
*QUESTION 6. DOES THE MODEL 22-28 I ORDERED WITH TH 6 WAY WEDGE, & THE ADDITIONAL 7 WAY BOX WEDGE ALSO ALLOW ME TO USE THE 8 WAY WEDGE AND 12 WAY WEDGES AS WELL?*
*QUESTION 7. HOW MUCH MORE DOES THE SPLITTER WEIGH, WITH THE ADDITIONAL 36" STROKE INSTALLED ON A 22-28?*
*QUESTION 8. WHAT IS THE WEIGHT OF EACH OF YOUR 7 WAY "BOX" WEDGE, 6 WAY WEDGE, 8 WAY WEDGE, 12 WAY WEDGE? FOR THE 22-28? I BELIEVE THEY ARE BUILT WITH THICKER METAL, IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY? SO WE KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE THEM OUT?*
*THANKS FOR ANY FEEDBACK TO HELP ME & POSSIBLY OTHERS AS WELL, MAKE A BETTER DECISION IF STEPPING UP TO A 36" STROKE IS RIGHT FOR THE APPLICATIONS INTENDED FOR EACH PERSON!*
*BETTER TO ASK QUESTIONS NOW, THAN TO REGRET & ONLY WISH YOU DID LATER ON? FOR SUCH A FINE PIECE OF MACHINERY IN THE ENTIRE WOOD SPLITTN' BUSINESS!*
IDK? IF THESE ARE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, BUT IF I SAVED SOMEONE FROM WASTING YOUR PRECIOUS TIME, SO YOU CAN PUT MORE OF IT TOWARDS THESE BACK ORDERS, THEN THESE QUESTIONS ARE WORTH THEIR WEIGHT IN GOLD! LOL... THANKS FOR YOUR TIME, THEY ARE (MOST DEFINITELY STILL WORTH THE WAIT TIMES). HAVE A NICE DAY EVERYONE.*
Why do you need that part on the pullback arm??
Which part?
The big plate attached to the arm. Seems the arm functions without it.

It is nice .. to me the Honda motor is just to light. Needs more torque . Clearly see it struggle .
Thar 690 hardly moves at all. It is 2 stage pump, it will slow down when its comes into something hard. What engines are your preference?
Eastonmade Wood Splitters Honda motors are great 👍 I should have said a 15 hp motor perhaps. Have you tested other motors . When I get I wood splitter I will look at these first .
Briggs was suppose to send me one but I havent seen it yet. I have run Kohlers on other projects. I think it would be really hard to switch from the honda name
Andrew what is all the hype about a box spliter . the wood comes out all splinters looks like 18in block 3x3 the customers hate it on and on please reply the wood don't even look like nice firewood
Depends on your market for customer preference. I find more and more people want the smaller square piece for camp fires and restaurant wood. This wood typically brings a lot more money per cord. It saves a ton of labour running the box wedge in larger rounds. In bigger rounds you will have less scrap off of this than a 6 way and more usable pieces. Hope this helps.
My customer base wants nothing bigger than 3x3 and yes I can get a lot more for it. I have a 37d ordered with a 7 way box wedge. Can't wait for it to be built
Haha, what kind of customer only wants wood this small. Are these "new age men" so weak they can't lift anything bigger!.
Andrew what is the cost for that set up?
$13500 on the 22-28

Great splitter but don't get the box look at the waste all wood looks stringy and small blocks customers hate it .l had to refund there money or give them good looking firewood
The wood in this video is less than ideal. Normally in large blocks there is a lot less waste than a 6 way
We're not making cupboards!!!!
Looks perfect for a wood stove.
Sh..-can the music.. and let's hear the machine working.. then would get a "like" for the video and the machine.
Lol that's my favourite song!!! Thanks for the feedback. It's very much appreciated
A lot lower volume or no music would be appreciated.
