Do you have any recommendations on how to begin learning the rotation for monk? Core GCD rotation looks very simple but it feels kind of crazy when I was reading through the guides on even and odd windows and things like that and mixing in the oGCDs
If you are talking about the document released by the community and published on The Balance, then yes, it is valuable for top-tier monks who want to play optimally, definitely need to get a coffee and read through all the paragraphs. If you just want to get familiar with how the monk rotation works, you can learn it step by step. For me, I first read through all skill descriptions and get familiar with the basic official gcd rotations like DK > Twin > Demo > Boot > True > Snap > DK > ... and understand the logic and idea behind it. Then add Perfect Balance into the rotation to build a simple burst where you need to know how to build Lunar Nadi, Solar Nadi, and Phantom Rush. Finally, manage the Perfect Balance cooldowns like using it twice every even minute and once every odd minute. Finally add Riddle of Fire and Brotherhood together where you can cover all blitz casts and you're good to go.
Almost the same with two adjusts. Compared to the opener, I intended to press PB after DK so the PB is cast 1 gcd earlier before its cooldown ends. If we think of DK + PB as the beginning of the burst window, RoF + BH are actually casted 1 gcd later compared to the opener, so we need to fill 1 gcd during the burst window. And at 9:05, we don't have WR, so we need to fill another gcd. As a result, I filled 2 additional DKs into this even burst, with an additional DK after 3 opo's in each PB window. Remember to only fill DK after Boot.
@@arainbowinthedark2 Yes you’re talking about official rotation but not the above one 1123 bootDK rotation, however, it’ll be removed at patch 7.05 anyway
I actually didn’t check the dps, but in theory, these rotations should be almost optimal. Compared to other melee, monk is currently one of the lowest dps jobs now. Hopefully, SE will make adjustments before savage raids release.
Again, just heard that the 1123 or 1231 rotation will be fixed soon in 7.01...
So the above rotation probably not gonna work once it is fixed. Errr

Trying to learn MNK, so at 9:05 / even burst its just gonna be a repeat of the opener?

Is it me or are the bars just flashing what you should be using?

can u type out the opener?
Sure! I just added it to the description below the video. The video also has images showing the openers.
Hows the dps?
