Wow, that's awesome, i always wanted a microlight but now with a rc plane like that i would make some modification to get in it myself and i wouldn't need a microlight anymore.how cool.
It's around $800.00 for sea freight or about twice that for air freight. I used sea freight and it took a couple months from order to delivery. I'm in New Jersey. Should be getting the engine before the year is out, hopefully.
My God what a monster!! I've got quite a few hrs on the 182, a real beast Cessna has a good product there & this reminds me of the full size plane. Looking fwd to seeing vid footage of it flying:-)
How much was shipping and what state are you in? How long did it take from when you ordered to delivery??? -Thanks!!!! :) Looks amazing. Thankyou for posting this video!!! :)
It's about the quality you would expect for the price and that it's made in thailand. Good but not excellent. Still waiting for the Rotomotor 170 4-stroke engine to come out or it would be done. Look in the description under the video for a link to the RCU thread. Endless info there. Many posts by me also.
@spidernad1 Damn man that plane is hugh!! Where the hell you gonna store it!! you might as well should of bought the full size plane..LOL You know what?, I love it(your plane) Now I may have to buy one!! The kit was about 2 grand I assume?
Propeller is 28x12 3-Blade. Most people use a DA-150 engine, but I went with the new Rotomotor 170 FS. You can see the engine video here. Unboxing the Rotomotor 170 FS - 170cc 4 Stroke 4 Cylinder Gas RC Engine!
John Austria Futaba 10CAG, but it doesn't have servo speed adjustment for the flaps, so I used some in-line servo-slow devices. A radio with integrated servo speed adjustment would be better.
Dan Campise I forgot to ask .. Is the propeller included ?.. and how would you know if what's the right size of it ??.. Sorry because I've many questions to ask .. i'm just curious .. hehe
John Austria Propeller choice is based on the engine used. All engines have recommend propeller sizes. The plane can use an engine in the size range of 120 ~ 210cc. I am using the Rotomotor 170cc Four Stroke. It has a recommended 3 blade propeller size of 28x10~12. That is perfect since a 28 inch 3-blade prop is exactly scale for this size plane. I went with the Biela 28x12 prop for my engine. It also is a scale replica of the full size Cessna prop, complete with correct colors and markings. You can see pictures of it here. www.rcuniverse.com/forum/giant-scale-aircraft-general-467/7422515-tmmy-scale-composites-35-scale-cessna-53.html#post10871829
What a truly amazing R/C model airplane, Dan! I'm green with envy! I've been looking for a video showing how you assembled the aircraft, but I haven't been able to find it. How long did it take you to build it after you got everything uncrated? Nice to see that you're in the Philadelphia area. I'm in Aurora, IL. We have the Fox Valley Aero Club which is located just 12 miles north of Aurora, and they have a 600-foot (I think) asphalt runway, and they have a public air show every year, usually in August, I believe. Wish you could bring your plane out here sometime! They have a very nice website. Just enter "Fox Valley Aero Club" into Google to see it!
+RonN448 Thanks for the kind words. I suppose if I added all the hours up that I spent building it, it probably took about three months or so, figuring 40 hours a week. I have a ton of video that I shot of many aspects of the build, I just have to find the time to edit and post it. Unfortunately, lack of time is my problem. That is why I decided to sell all my RC planes, I never had time to fly them. If only I had the money to retire I could have kept at it but I had to focus on my business and let the hobby stuff go. : (
+Greg Briley I guess you still can't get on their website? I just went on and it still works fine for me. The kit is listed on their site for $3200.00 Looks like Tommy is showing a new email address, it is: tmmyscalecompt@gmail.com
What is this....flight for ants?? How can anyone fly this if they can't even fit inside the cabin? The plane needs to be at least...3 times bigger than this.
Thanks man! Should be getting the engine soon, so I will post more videos of the completion.
that is a awesome model you got there very good details and realism
