I have watched almost all your videos and learned a lot from them. But probably this one is the most helpful. At first it all went over my head. After following you for >6 months I am getting there. Thanks a lot. God bless.
I just started kdp and am pretty psyched to make coloring books because I am a vector illustrator it seems perfect. And for me would be fun. Thanks for the videos.
Finally figuring out the sizes needed and getting some books live. One of my newest, a coloring book for kids says blocked for copyright infringement. I don't get it, I used Canva for all of it and I'm paying for pro so are the images copyright free or are they not the ones we can use?
Paul...how many images would you recommend to include in a coloring book and then what page count total would you use since I'm sure it's best to leave the back side of each image blank?
Hi Paul. Do these keywords are still good to go or it may have already saturated? I have published a very good quality coloring book for kids, however, I am already lost. So any thoughts?
As a coloring book colorist, I can tell you that many colorists buy books compulsively. Every coloring book is an adventure and a new creative challenge. I own dozens of coloring books.
Thank you so much 🌹🌹🌹 I have bought the words, but I have a question that is, which sentence do I choose, as some of them are written based on the research in All Departments , and others are based on a BOOKS part, so I would like to know if I depend All Departments OR BOOKS ???
Hey paul love your videos thank you for your help Just one question if you search your key words in all you'll find just a under 1000 but in books it's almost 10000 am i going to rank in all if i use some of this key words? Thank you 😁
Just discovered you and really appreciate your videos! But, one thing confuses me. I’ve been advised previously to only use keywords with OVER 1000 search results because if only a small number of people are looking for that keyword, well, only a small number will even see your book. On the other hand, I can imagine if all the authors follow that advice and jump on the high search keywords, that will make them super competitive. So, either your books won’t get any eyeballs because no one is even looking for them, or they won’t get any eyeballs because you’re way back on page 10. And, that is why I am confused. :-)
More search results equals more competition. So, if the competition is too high you’re book will never be found so you won’t make any sales. Or unlikely to anyway. That’s why I looks at the BSR’s of the books that are found under particular keywords because if they are making sales with a low competition keyword then, theoretically, so should you. You could always experiment anyway - do two similar books, one using a high competitive keyword and the other a lower one. See which one brings you sales. That’s what I’ve done in the past and that’s why I present the information as I do. Hope that helps. 😊
@@paulmarles thank you for the thoughful reply! I'm starting to feel a little comfortable with LCP, but still so much to learn. Experimenting is a great suggestion. I look forward to more of your videos! :-)
Thanks for the keyword research. i have a request please can you make a video about crosswords with the list of keywords if you can help me i will be more than grateful to you.
Thank you for the information, personally I published just one book and it doesn't even appear on the search results (unicorn coloring book) I changed keywords, categories, but It does not seem to work, what could be happening? Thank you!
So many factors. When did you published it? You have to give Amazon time to index the keywords. Can take a couple of months sometimes. Even then there is no guarantee. And what is the title? If it's unicorn coloring book there are 5000 search results. Very competitive.
@@paulmarles I first published it on september 2020, and still can't find it on the search bar, Yes, the title is unicorn and sweets coloring book, but kdp doesn't let me change title once is published. I'm a graphic designer/ illustrator and I would like to start selling this kind of products but the keywords part got me confused :/ I'm checking your other videos to see if I can fix this, thank you very much!
I've spent 6 months illustrating 40 images. It's slightly insulting to say you can pump out illustrations & a book in no time, like a week or 2. I guess maybe if they are incredibly simple kids' drawings & you're doing a small book or you're churning crap. I presume this is for people pumping out volume & rubbish for a quick buck. Ok, that might be a bit extreme. You're probably not telling people not to publish rubbish, but this kind of video gives me that impression.
Hi. I don't have any items that can be purchased on a recurring subscription. If there is a problem with billing then contacting Gumroad support should be able to resolve the situation.

Thanks for the keywords, uploaded my first coloring book a few hours ago and it was one of the categories below 1000, hoping for good things 🤞
Brilliant 👍 Good luck.
Hey, if you don't mind me asking, did you make sales?
@@mourgankdee yeah I regularly make sales now. I don't upload as much as I was at the beginning but I make anywhere between $700-$1000 every month
another great video. thks for the keywords...the research really does take hours! this saves a lot of time.
You’re welcome and thank you 🙏
Told myself if you made another coloring book video, I would buy your keywords. Lol! Lucky day for both of us! Buying them now.
Haha, thank you 🙏

It will explain in the licensing on Canva but I would’ve thought it should be ok. There may be an issue if lots of others have used the same images.
Paul...how many images would you recommend to include in a coloring book and then what page count total would you use since I'm sure it's best to leave the back side of each image blank?
That’s right about the back side being blank. 30 images seems to be common.
yes man! always good info!
Thank you 🙏
Great video...great content ! I smell a sponsorship with RedBull !
Haha, that would be great!! 😆😆 Thank you.
Hi Paul.

Keywords are still good. Customers haven’t changed their search patterns. There are many factors to sales, not just keywords.
Hello captain, your shirt is lovely.

Hopefully, but nothing is guaranteed. Just take the results from all and not the book category.
Thanks, Captain!
You’re welcome.
Hello, do you have an updated coloring book keywords on Gumroad?
I'm actually currenlty working on the update.
What do you recommend for a coloring book: white or black reverse?
I prefer white. I don’t think black comes out well.
Which price is standard for 40 pages coloring book?
It depends on the niche. Look at the other books in your niche to get a guide.

Thank you for the keywords :) I was wondering, how long do you think it takes to see sales after changing keywords on an already published book?
Very difficult to answer but if they are going to have an effect I would say it might take up to 3-4 weeks.

Never fear Amazon don’t pay some foreign countries. So after a huge waist of time I am looking for www company to publish and be paid.
I will keep commenting and warning people until this is addressed
DO NOT PURCHASE, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $2 INITIALLY AND $33 PER MONTH EVERY MONTH!!!
