I've always found that when you arrive at an estate sale and see people coming out empty-handed -- the stuff is overpriced!
@@Rickyfyied the people not going to yard sales or thrift stores. Someone 100's of miles away that wants that item. Not my next door neighbor or the one across town.
I work at a thrift store and people, mainly resellers always trying to haggle down the price. Now we price stuff very fair and cheap already and I always say no unless it's been there a week or longer but it's always the new stuff we put out they want cheaper and I just say well someone else will buy it and more often then not the person behind them says oh I'll buy it if there not .

Agree 💯! Went to a flea market last year with my daughter and she liked this little mini handmade painting , no price sowing asked the lady seller and she said 15.00, i thought no way! walked back later and there was a man, asked again and he said 5.00 dollars!

They absolutely do, and no matter how poorly I dress, apparently I put off "this guy can pay up" vibes.

Nothing more annoying than having no prices on anything, having to dig it out of a dusty mess and then have them quote me an online price. Lol
There were lots of challenging reseller moments in this video. So glad you show those moments along with all the good moments, it’s a very realistic snapshot of working your business. And thank you for not being snarky or sarcastic, just being so dang polite and kind. You are a beacon of light in the world of resellers.

Then, I go look at eBay and see those prices and just CRINGE! Kiss of death, I won't but their inflated eBay prices.
Most people say listing prices and not sold prices. Hold up an item and they say “that’s $70 on eBay” but none ever sold for that price and have only sold $35-40 for perfect condition and theirs is in rough condition lol

The best response to somebody who's asking eBay prices is to ask them for packing materials, box and shipping labels.

Looks like people holding any kind of sale, need to practice and get better at providing the buyer pricing. Sure would make it easier on everyone and save time. You're very patient and that is an acquired skill. Keep up the good work.
Fire King has been around forever! It’s not as popular as Pyrex but it’s pretty. Shouldn’t have eBay prices at a yard sale! Matt it’s sweet to see your dad helping you.

As far as the estate sale goes not everybody's a reseller so some people will legitimately just want to buy that item for themselves so maybe they'll pay that price but for reselling that's way overpriced and sometimes you just got to walk away and that's okay that doesn't mean that other people are bad or you're bad or they're good and you're not good just means it is what it is

You ran into some tough people today for negotiations. Too many people looking things up on ebay... lol The issue is most look up active listings and not the sold listings.

Having resellers paying asking price doesn’t help ( I’ve been seen this more frequently) . We are all here to buy low and sell high .

If you guys go to estate sales, its usually 3 days and the first day its not for resellers, an estate sale mean you try and make as much money as possible the items are researched and priced accordjngly. The 2 day its usually 20% to 25% off 3rd day 50 to 75% off. Now yall know😂

Ive been hating estate sales lately prices are nuts I dont get how they can get away charging so much more than yardsale. That bose I got goodwill for $12 books maybe a few each book. Really thought the total was going to be $60.

As a decent size ebay seller who also does yard sales sometimes. My yard sale price is 1/4th my ebay.
People who say "waaaah ebay" have no idea we price high on ebay because
A. We lose 20% of our final sale basically
B. You are providing an item worldwide...not to.joe schmoe up the block.

For the first estate sale I guess you should price out a few items ahead of time before making a pile -- could have saved yourself a bunch of time at that overpriced sale

5 minutes in, did you look at the film cameras? they can be worth a lot. It's the main thing i look for because i collect and use them

Golf bags are worth money too. I bought one for $10 and sold it on Marketplace the next day for $190. It was a Ping 15 club bag with a cooler in it. Unsure of model.

Eurgh those "I can get X amount on eBay for this" people can get in the sea. You're selling at a yard sale. If you want eBay prices sell on eBay and you will soon see you can't get that price as you have to pay roughly 15% to eBay, you have to spend time listing it and more often than not offer free shipping. You also saw that price under listings and not sold comps because you don't know how eBay works. I've travelled to you at my expense, it's cold and I got up at 6am. If I wanted to pay eBay prices at your sale I'd have stayed in bed and ordered it from my phone.

If you find a bolt down pressure cooker. That has a pressure gauge.
For a small one I'll buy for $200 plus shipping USPS.
For a large one I buy for $300 plus shipping USPS.

Great stuff today. But rule number one at any sale is ispick up something and see what they want for it and if they are a psycho or not. The first guy also had a line out the door too. Loved the violet vase. Fenton is a big bolo!!

I always tell them if they want eBay prices to put it on eBay and pay their fees and tax's than I turn to walk away. There's plenty of other sale's.

I'd love to see you list what you paid for non-bundled items listed at the end...and others you could label as "part of $40 bundle." It's hard for viewers to remember the costs of each item all the way to the end, and then try to do the math in the few seconds it's on screen. Just do the math on screen for us. It will make these great videos even better! :)

@@PartTimePickers I love your videos, Mat!! But I didn't describe my idea very well. Here it is: When you show the comps per item toward the end, just include next to it the words "PAID $XX." This is in addition to the grand total at the end. It will really help the viewers play along. I'm an Emmy-winning television editor, I swear it's an improvement you should give a try! :)
