What do you think of the new Epiphone 59 that has just been released with the Gibson open book headstock, custom buckers Gibson bridge, tailpiece and single piece neck. Is it worth the extra money they are asking?
Epiphone isn't fucking around anymore. They're now an upper-tier guitar. They're about to drop the 3 pickup ivory Les Paul/SG custom, with the Gibson headstock. The new Firebirds are badass. All their new offerings are badass. I'm not a huge fan of the price tags, granted. I think that kind-of defeats the purpose of Epiphones. They're getting very Gibson-ish on their price points over time.
@@freepressright Yeah, Gibson seem hell bent on getting the Epiphone brand back to where it was in the 60's.The only difference is they are made in China rather than the US but CNC machines make that irrelevant anyway.
As Epiphones go, this one is absolutely the top of the line (or as Nigel from Spinal Tap said, the "top of the heap.") It has enough Gibson USA hardware and electronics that it barely qualifies as an Epi, but Epi has improved all of their LP models, and SGs. They've had to. PRS SE was putting them to shame. I love this LP as much as and Gibby I've ever owned. Thank you for commenting.
