In January, weather is not favourable in my view... extream chilling cold, high chances of heavy snowfall may interrupt your travel plans, but still yes, if you are looking for Adventure tour and prepared for any unexpected changes in tour due to weather, you may go.

of course, it will be very cold... definitely Below zero degree in Sonmarg, Gulmarg.. also there may be road blockage.. if you are not used to or prepared for it, better to avoid.
