You have to visit Kashmir once in your life. These guys have the warmest of hearts. They are loving kind and welcoming. My trip was made memorable not just because of the landscapes but because of the people. They are the best! I cried while departing from my tour guide.
I visited somewhere in 2012 and was very much afraid. Even after landing at Srinagar airport I was too tensed what could have happen if anything goes wrong. Then soon after a day realise Kashmiris are very good in hospitality. But I would say good and bad people are always there at any places no matter whether its Kashmir or any other part of India.
All are political shit…noone cares abt the common ppl….they all have their own intrsts and agenda…the one who actly suffrs are our army and civilians
We aren't cruel as media shows.. we r so humble and polite and we respect our tourists so much... It's all media propoganda ..

Not everyone is like that. I have been to the same place, and these sledge guys are goons, just harassing you to get more money. And the drivers have commission from them. Only if you pay, they will leave you alone, else they will say things to make you feel embarassed and scared

It reminded me my travel to these all three places in Kashmir in Winter in February. We first went to Gulmarg. Stayed there for two days. Next day was planned for Sonmarg but we skipped it thinking it will be same like Gulmarg just snow. And went to some stupid places. Then on last day of our trip we decided to visit Sonmarg and it was best experience of the trip. It is really heaven. I even saw this place in my dream once.

Unfortunately, hell for the people who live here and paradise for the tourists, because of the long dispute between two countries. The two countries should solve the dispute so that people here can live peacefully.
