1) I haven't had a problem with the seat in mine! I actually find it more comfortable than my old 530e!!. Yes, Its a lot more firm, but I prefer that to sitting in a lump of jelly for a seat. 2) But I 100% agree with you on the AC button! 3) As for the wheels, I went for the 18" due to having adaptive suspension, and they are a dream to clean! I feel you with the cleaning side of things though. Because the exact thought passed my mind when deciding if I was going for the 19's or adaptive. 4) Unfortunately with the exhaust, the UK government/EU have stated all petrol cars need GPF filters which ruins the sound and pops and bangs etc. 5) the gearbox in mine is lumpy in sport mode at slow speed, almost feels like it kicks and judders. if I am in Eco mode, it is a dream and smooth. I never drive in comfort mode as it is the same as Eco Pro for me (based on my settings) so its either sport (individual) or Eco Pro As you said, It's all personal opinion, but I have to admit, the gearbox is something I was thinking about flagging to BMW

I agree with you about the aircon but if you have a mic button on the steering wheel on the right hand side press it and tell it to turn off the aircon off l use it all the time you can ask it to tell you a joke, great vid.
same seat problem here, i have a daughter in the back...and theres no space for both of us.. AS for aircon i solved using the shortcut function on radio buttons. u know u can assign each of the to do smth!
Yeah it's annoying, you can't get comfortable if you have the seat to close but too far back, whoever is in the back has no leg room 😂 ah yeah you could use them actually, I have them set as other stuff but good shout with the Aircon 👍
I agree with the aircon, not having a button but there’s buttons for everything else 😅 my wheels are the same with the big M callipers. There’s very minimal space between the calliper and the barrel of the wheel on mine to try and clean it without having to drive it back and forth 😂 Definitely an aftermarket exhaust system will sound nice! Neighbours will be annoyed with you but still, it’ll sound nice 🤣
Yeah it's a weird one for sure haha! I know it makes it so hard to clean them. Yeah it would make It sound a lot better but it's on finance, so don't want to change too much and also the neighbours already think it's loud when I start it up in the garage, don't want to annoy them anymore 😂

EU legislation for exhaust noise levels. Manufacturers are no longer allowed to build the cars we want to buy. Even how they are advertised in the media is controlled by the killjoys at UK advertising standards.
Had one for 16 months thought after the ZF in the m140i this was a cock up but I understand after reading up on the subject is was the box for the engine and the cars platform design which simply wasn't good enough in many drivers opinon. Bottom line this was a safe option for BMW not a exciting car but competent hence I revert back to a more fun less practical exciting car
Yeah that's it, it's for the engine type. I've not got rid of mine, but it was more due to the sizing of the car. Overall I thought it was a good car though, but with a few improvements needed.
Good review and true but you got to admit its quick when it pulls and the turbo sounds nice even in eco mode i guess now we need to get with the times the bmw m135i 21 plate is my first bmw after the ford focus st 19 plate that exhaust was loud but it was way slower then the bmw but i had good fun in car parks with ford focus st reving it lol

Its always with new cars these days no buttons anymore for the airco and such thing, thats why i choose the f20, and for real the 6 in line sounds much better 🔥
Overall its not too bad a vehicle for everyday duties, have one as my daily, however some of those issues like the seat is more of a personal issue rather than a design problem, what you neglect to mention is the 2 most evident issues, the howling reversing noise from the rear brakes, and the wastegate auctor rattle. The gearbox yes its a little lazy in comfort, however the latest OTA update has improved this function, however I simply just drive it in sports, unfortunately its impossible to fit the ZF box in this configuration, otherwise the car would be pretty bang on.

So that's why they aren't mentioned, because for me they aren't issues. But yes I agree overall the car is pretty good, just a few little personal things for me 👍
@@MYMOUNTAIN_122 I do, I've tried it. Not got any noise from mine at all. There was an update that was for the turbo actuator over the air one and ever since then, mine has been fine. I could hear something slightly before but I've seen a few on the forums that are shocking, so I'm very lucky with my car. Maybe it's the TDI tuning box that helps, not sure.
@@the_jnlt_channel they have also released an official fix for the documented issue on the internal puma system, it's a shim kit. The other update wasn't intended for the waste gate fix as this is a hardware issue rather than a software fix, but awesome to hear you have no such issue.

Mine (not bmw) has a gpf and it does my tree in. Sounds too quiet and muffled. Yours probably has one too. Massive big up to the euro bureaucrats! Also, the zf box is for longitudinal engines, but the 1er is transverse mounted so can't use the zf. Shame, cos its brilliant!
Yes it does have the gpf, makes most the newer cars sound rubbish. Yeah I know it's annoying, as all my BMWs Ive owned have had the zf and always so good. I got used to the one in this, in the end but took some time.

Sounds pretty good to me but if startup is the only time you get pops and crackles, then maybe it’s time to get an aftermarket burble tune 😉
It isn't the worst sounding but when you have had cars before that have sounded better, which aren't even M type cars it's annoying.

6. The Wipers, specialy that on the driver side, makes too loud and creaking noise.
