Great session, thank you Kevin! These guys have been my M/M heros since I first got involved at N6DX in the late 80s, and it is so great to hear their perspectives and the passion and love they bring to the art. Chuck and George, thank you for all you have contributed, and for many QSOs over the years! de K7NT Mike
I enjoyed the interview! It’s sad that they aren’t optimistic about the future of ham radio. Things will continue to change, as they mentioned in their day the changes sparked by moving from pencil and paper to logging programs. I think there will always be operators who want to experience CW contesting. It’s hard to predict the future when what’s coming is likely to be almost inconceivable now. I often heard the story that when Bill Gates told his mom about his plan, she asked, “what would I do with a personal computer.” There’s a popular quote from Henry Ford, “If I had asked my customers what they wanted they would have said a faster horse.” Before they happened, who could have predicted the success of FT8 and POTA? I certainly cannot see the future of ham radio and contesting, but I believe it will continue in exciting ways.
Those of us living in W0 Mn, SD, ND feel that Colorado has much better propagation than "black hole". They are the garden spot of propagation for the Zero land hams!
I agree on the geographical advantages! This shows just how good these guys are that are contesting from tx and az. I can’t imagine catching Randy in Ohio now! Guy is just on another level. Until an up n comer pops on the scene.
Very. Fine. Business. Congrats to youall for your contribution to our game! "Old married couple" indeed. We love you guys. 73 - Mark N5OT
Nice to hear from these two. George was one of my contesting idols as i came into the game!

Is a "renaming" in order, Scott? But Garden Spot Contesting doesn't have the same ring! 73, kt

George, no shout outs to the legend, Ol’ W6A0A??😉😉😉
While I agree with a lot of what was said I have a hot take: I think Digital will be the thing that saves ham radio. A lot won’t agree. NF3R
