its nice that you mentioned big Kev. He is my angling hero, and his dad Benny too. I fished my first match in over 25 years last summer at Brookside, and Kevin was in the match. I never got to see him as he drew before me, but just to know i was competing against him again was totally heart-warming for me.
Nicely made Alan and great to hear that you've enjoyed fishing the Weaver with us this year. Looking forward to the next video when you're using a spring tip rod....if you can persuade James to make one ;-)
Great film Alan and Chappy. really interesting content and might encourage me to have a go on the Weaver too. Agreed concerning the rods and reels. Excellent quality kit.
Yes, managed to buy a DJI mini 2 fly more kit off eBay saving £100. Still learning to use it, but the scene setting aerial shots really do bring a sense of place
Very enjoyable video Alan I will give your method ago in the week on the Winsford DAA Weaver. Recently got the 11ft #1 feeder so will be trying it out. How is it for transporting ready made up?
@@cadencefishinguk very true, never seen a 2 hook rig before, only in fly fishing, I really enjoy your videos. I've often wondered if wet flies would work in conjunction with a float. Tight lines
@@simonwright94 I suppose it all boils down to what we consider 'sporting'. If the need to catch fish is so great then people might as well leave a line of baited hooks out or cast a net! Giving the fish a sporting chance then I guess you have to fish within your own moral code and/or the rules of the fishery or local byelaws. Two hooks, maybe three on a fly rig, is sporting in my view. Beyond that, I think we start to tread a fine line. Mostly, one hook is the most sporting. 👍
At last! A proper old school way to fish with the tip, complete with target board! I get some funny looks when I get mine out...
Another brilliant film from Cadence, Chappy and Alan. Nice to see you out and about again Chappy mate.
Merry Christmas to all the Cadence fans.

@@cadencefishinguk - it's what we all secretly want, James 😂
@@cadencefishinguk - good call. It really does and I think you got the balance just right. Too many first time users over do it.
@@PatMo1888 yes. I have some ideas for it, but it certainly adds some production value to the videos.

Wow that's a really straight river, was it designed by the Roman's! Still another great video
Not Romans, but it's incredible what engineers and navvies did before modern day machinery!!!
Great video guys. Is double hooking allowed in the matches on the Weaver?
Yes
Great video, is a flat float no good for the skimmers Alan?
more in the summer.
Great video, nice description, never seen mackerel fishing before, 2 hooks? That's cheating!
'cheating' is only when something is against agreed rules, and on the Weaver two hook rigs are allowed in the match rules👍

Where in Lancashire can you buy squats? In my area we can't get them
I think a fair few shops sell them. Hopefully Alan will let us know, Scotts probably sell them. Alan uses Lostock tackle.
Squats are available from Coppull Anglers.
Do you leave a bow in the line or not?
With the rod pointing down stream a bow is inevitable.
