here's something to mull over when it comes to doom's will.
in one comic, the purple man, a mutant with the power to make people obey him, had his powers amped to the degree that he took over the world. doom confronted him and told him to cut that shit out. purple man said that doom can only talk like that because his helmet shielded his mind from his powers. so doom took off his helmet and dare him to try it. purple man tried to make doom kill himself but doom didn't move. why? because he didn't want to. he resisted the purple man's powers through sheer, unmitigated will power alone.
doom is in a class unto himself when it comes to comic villains.
also, doom has taken over the world, more than once and he did a great job in running it. but he wasn't beaten by heroes or anything like that. doom got bored and gave it back. he found taking over the world more challenging than actually running it.

Interesting. In Secret Wars 2 the only person able to resist the Beyonder taking over their will was Molecule Man, but then again, Doom was destroyed and not on earth during this time…wonder what would’ve happened if he had been there 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 There were a few Fantastic Four comics that kind of followed up on that. One was even titled Secret Wars 3, no less.
They weren't really epic must reads though. John Bryne did the first part which had to do with fixing Doom being destroyed and not on Earth.
Just imagine a crossover where Doom winds up in the DC universe and gets a Green Lantern ring...

I've learned as a rule Marvel and DC characters tend to do better in Death Battle against characters from other universes. They've simply had more outlandish feats of strength, speed, and skill, than you'd find in more grounded material. There are always exceptions of course, but in general this seems to be how it plays out.
SixshotRevan except when it comes to marvel its only the earth 616 that is canon while dc is the prime earth canon.

An example is that they always say the entire DBZ universe is only 4 galaxies when it's been officially stated multiple times in many guidebooks that the universe is literally infinite and is made up of infinite dimensions within it that they themselves are infinite
As a measuring stick for Doctor Doom's capabilities: he's second in magic only to the Sorcerer Supreme (Dr. Strange) and he's second in science on earth only to the Scientist Supreme (Hank Pym). The only ones who top Doctor Doom in science and magic are the literal peak of the two subjects.

@@sparknazo That's the interesting and funny part. Reed actually admitted already that Doom's already surpassed him in science. I believe it was when he was put on trial for letting Kang go when the Beyonder came to earth and made himself look like David Hasselhoff. Doom just doesn't know it. He's so far into his inferiority complex that he can't even perceive himself as actually being better than Reed Richards in anything.
Fun fact, Doctor Doom was the direct inspiration for Vader himself. Is it really a wonder Lucas would want to do a variant of his story for his big bad?

Interesting fact when Doom lost the power of the Molecule Man in the 2015 Secret Wars to Reed Richards, Reed used some of that power to fix Doom's face so that he can have a happy ending
Cool beans. Never read the 2015 version just the original. Is Beyonder even in that? Molecule man is almost as powerful so would make sense just to use him 🤔

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 The Beyonders are in it. Its a more "grounded" (as grounded as such a story can be) take by making it a whole race outside of the universe without the disco dude stuff. I would recommend reading Hickmans Avengers/New Avengers series which leads straight into Secret Wars 2015 and is just amazing.
As much as I'd have loved Vader to win, Doom is insanely powerful, this one is basically a god up against a mortal.
I have been a massive Vader enthusiast and I am happy they did him justice, going up against a comic book character.
Except they didn't. He was killed by being put in lava. Which star wars comics have proven that while in his suit, Vader can just walk right out of lava like a swimming pool. Death battle is biased towards certain brands.

Although the fight, the animation itself is not representative of anything true. It almost never is. It mostly there for our amusement. It is a placeholder. What matters, at least from Screwattack is the verdict and the background segment of the Death Battles. Not every single battle can be saved by bias.
It is very difficult to portray the characters faithfully.
In this battle, would you consider Vader to have the advantage?

@@boro6908 yes I agree the fight itself is more for entertainment but I think it's supposed to be a real time demonstration of the victor showing why he's the victor. Now I'm not saying that Vader could kill doom(maybe clone wars ani) but that the lava would not be what kills him.
@@kitfisto1847 Vader shouldn't have stood a chance against Doom regardless. Doom can out magic him, out power him, out think him, out will him. Vader has zero advantage in any category. Well, Vader does have better movies. Even if you count young Ankin in the prequels.
dr doom is one of my favorite villains of all time, mostly cus he is like objectively right, like multiple Gods have said that he should rule the universe and a comic even showed that once he rules the world all conflict ceases to exist.
and vader is honestly an equally great villain too, again cus he was completely justified

I gotta say Dr doom, you're a complete menance fr fr but you know how make a good battle.
Honestly thought this was a complete miss match in power. I mean Doom at his best is going up against cosmic beings and I can't see Vadar even coming close to fighting stuff like that. Vader's only real chance was to throw squirrels at him. But unfortunately, he didn't have any on hand. 😥But damn I love Doom. The junk that comes out his mouth is so quotable. “Imagine, I now possess the power to end hunger. To abolish disease. To eliminate crime. To establish a perfectly content, perfectly ordered world, all under the benevolence of my iron will!”- Dr. Doom ah you grandiloquent bastard.

Tons of better feats exist for Anakin/Vader that they didn't mention, likely due to when this came out.
That being said Doom still wins even with that in mind.
Dooms suit: drasticly empowers him.
Vaders suit: basicly life support. His potential was way higher before the lava dip

You guys check the fight between Reverse Flash Vs Goku Black and Flash(Wally West) Vs Sonic(Archie Comics). Those are the best and craziest fights ever.
Cool battle but there was one little thing that i noticed. You see, Doctor Doom's armor is silver color, not gold. Which means that Darth Vader killed, yet again, wrong Doctor Doom. Or, other words, his clone. Which means that Doctor Doom is alive.
I mean, the fight is over as soon as Vader can manage a Force Crush on that METAL ARMOR Doom wears.
Besides _that,_ he's primarily melee, so.. feels like from the get-go, Doom would be at an offensive disadvantage.
His armour can stop the force hell it blocked reality and time

I know him only from the 1998 Spiderman animated series, and from the very very cheesy and so bad it's bad Fantastic Four movie from 2004..never thought he is some kind of sorcerer or somthing.
Felt like some kind of unfair setup in the first place...but i comes from a generation when the "force" powers were kinda vague.
The death battle people seemed to forget that Vader in his armor is immune to lava, he's dived into it plenty of times.
Depends on what Darth Vader we use. Some versions are outright broken. And I am talking base.

Yeah, that's fairly standard Doom dialog. He always talks like that. 'Cease your mindless prattling, Dolt! You stand before Doom!' He says that sort of thing on a day to day basis.

I don't know much about Dr. Doom, but after watching the character profile, he seems as close to a God as one can get without actually being one. Vader is powerful and all, but at the end of the day he's a mortal man who's already in rough shape. He needs the Force just to keep himself alive sometimes. Much as I love Darth Vader, this is easily Doom's fight.

And maybe Madara VS Aizen who are the Final Boss of Naruto & BLEACH....(Yes, I'm going to called Madara the Final Boss okay. Kayuga is not so great.) Also try Might Guy VS All Might. IT'S REALLY GOOD!!!

Doctor Doom is the best comic villain ever. Best back story, best character motivation, best powers and abilities, best resource (he owns his own freaking country), and best feats. How many times has he conquered the Earth, universe, and heck even multiverse? I know people love Joker, but come on. Even most comic fans (not Bat fan boys) agree he's even better at prep time than Batman.

Without even watching this, I know Doom stomps lmao. Seems like this was a bad match up to be honest. Doom is literally like the most powerful villain in Marvel comics. Which has gods, celestials, mutants, etc. Vader is strong for sure, but nowhere near Dooms level

This is an absolute stomp for Doom.
Vader is Bad no doubt, but really hes up against humans and barely above human level foes other than other jedi 99% of the time, so while hes OP in that universe, in Marvel he would easily be beat by even a Doom-Bot, much less Doom himself who regularly takes on world destroying threats likes its just another Tuesday, and counters Galaxy and Universal theats repeatedly.
This fight was like taking a roid raged Mike Tyson at his peak and putting him against a five year old, its that much of a mismatch.
Doom regularly defeats people with much much greater powers than Vader, as really Sue Storm alone has similar abilities by her use of forcefields to achive hurling objects, cutting off breathing, deflecting energy/physical attacks, clutching and holding objects, and her brother plays with flames to a far higher degree than vader does electicity, and yet Doom has survived encounter after encounter with the entire FF, plus sometimes the Avengers thrown in on top, so Vader wouldnt stand a chance.
The only reason Deathbattles didnt have it as a stomp from the first is to not to piss off the Star Wars fanboys of which I am one, but as a Marvel reader and Doom enthusiast also, I have to say the power levels between the universes is severly imbalanced and even Legends Palpatine at his peak wouldnt be much more of a problem in the Marvel Universe than the standard Avengers double issue villan at best, as the power levels in the marvel universe is just astronomically higher.
