To save people wasting their time, if your WhatsApp Beta on Android does NOT have the 'Move data to iOS' option within its settings then this will NOT WORK. You can see that the Move to iOS app opens this WhatsApp option from within the app, just as it does on iOS with the 'Move Data to Android' option.
Basically you're going to be wasting your time resetting your iPhone if you don't see this option in your WhatsApp settings because it's a critical component of the app. It seems that being a beta tester isn't the only important requirement - you also have to be a beta tester whose account has been chosen among a limited number of users.

I just spent 4 hours yesterday trying to make this work, with the latest versions of iOS, Android, WhatsApp on Android; I even tried with the latest beta APK of WhatsApp on Android. However, I am never able to get the WhatsApp data to show up in the Move to iOS app.. any ideas?

@@Techniqued I have enrolled myself 7-8 days ago and tried 5-6 times for the trensfer by resetting the iPhone and I did this with every update I got for beta version but still no solution..Any Idea when we will get it ?
And any idea if we can do this with that Add files option and choose WhatsApp folder with that..Can you Please try for this and make a video on ?
I post this reply on another comment so please don't mark it as spam, as I'm trying to find a solution as well for this: I've tried this with my wife's account with no luck (Huawei to iPhone), the WhatsApp option just doesn't show. However, I did a test from another phone (a Redmi Note 9), downloaded and installed a beta APK version of WhatsApp, activate my account with no backup and the option showed in Move to iOS app. So I figured to do the same test my wife's WhatsApp account on that phone: I clear the data from the app, activate my wife's WhatsApp, but the option doesn't show on Move to iOS. So it doesn't appear to be Android version related, or the WhatsApp beta version but maybe some configuration inside a user's WhatsApp account. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

@@MrMerdekaMan done that bro. after factory reset only you can get the code to input in Move to iOS. But with whatsapp beta and factory reset as well, no whatsapp option is there to transfer

Hello, I’m trying to move my chats with this new feature, but it doesn’t work. I’m not a beta tester, but I have the latest version of WhatsApp and the option is available on the Move to IOS app. It reaches 7% on the loading bar but then it stops and it makes me start the transfer again. Hello, I tried the same. I used Move iOS and able to transfer to new phone. But after not getting the option to move form Android to iOS after installing the WhatsApp in new iPhone. So I ma not able to get the previous chat
WhatsApp media on android is also on the camera roll, so is there duplicate when you transfer over both WhatsApp and phone photos?

1. The sim needs to be in iPhone? Or in Android phone only?
2. If I want to transfer more data apart from the WA chats, can I follow the same procedure again or I have to select all the data in one go while transferring WA?
You media and chats will be transferred if you have taken back up with media. Your call log won't be transferred. I'd suggest to keep your Sim card in android. Before doing this transfer take one last back up on your android phone along with media. And with move to ios you can transfer whatsapp only with beta version. This is feature is not out for everyone yet and the beta programme is full. Also you will have to select everything in one go because this is available only once when you set up your iPhone. Once your iPhone is set you can't use move to ios.

It's not released for all the users yet, even tho I've been beta user for WhatsApp since so many years. When I tried yesterday even I was not able to see WhatsApp in the move to IOS app. Don't reset your mobiles now, wait for few months I believe 😑

You need to format your iPhone for that. The option for WhatsApp is only available when your iPhone is formatted

The transfer of WhatsApp from my android to new iphone is happening for me. But when I install WhatsApp on iphone and then start the import, after 40% done, it shows "something went wrong, try again or skip import".

yes you can get that only if you have backed up your whats aap in android but you wont get your ios chats

I tried the way but I don't have the 'WhatsApp' option in the move to ios app. It does not work for general users now. Only some beta testers can use the official way. I have no way. I downloaded 3rd-party software called tenorshare icarefone transfer. It worked smoothly. I transferred whatsapp data from Android to iPhone in 25 minutes. Grateful to tenorshare!

I have tried this. I don't see "WhatsApp" option on "Transfer Data" screen. I have latest WhatsApp, iOS and I am sure I am following every bit of step correctly. Does this really work for anyone?
Nope
I raised a query to WhatsApp help and support team and I got the this response within the quotes "This is an upcoming feature that we are slowly rolling out and will soon be available to users everywhere. We appreciate your patience as we continue to improve the app experience for you by launching new features and updates". I am not sure how "slowly" or how "soon" though :P

The feature is only available on the Whatsapp Beta program which is currently full on the Google Play store. So until there is an update, you probably can't get the feature to work yet.

@@osmanahmed62 Hey, I was able to transfer. It took a lot of time but happened. If your WhatsApp backup is too large, you can delete unimportant messages, do a new backup and then transfer

We can basically copy from old android option
We can just backup or upload to drive some doc,img,video
And then open new WhatsApp far better
