@@renz1013 The SR5 that came with the 4AC single cam motor and rear drum brakes? sure smells like a AE85, the USDM Corolla GTS is actually the AE86. luckily tho the only difference between an AE85 and an AE86 is the rear axle, roll bar strength, spring/damper strength, and engine/gearbox. The body shells are identical so would be an easy thing to swap and upgrade to something much more fun. (Plus the sound of a proper 4AGE would make all the work worth it).
@@renz1013 no worries man I just wish there was more info out there on how easy it is to do the upgrade as it would be nice to have more 4AGEs out there stretching there legs.
@@tomasbegley3032 the AE85 actual came with the 3A-U ! USDM SR5 AE86's also have the same extra chassis bracing as JDM AE86's (that JDM AE85's lack) and share a 4A family engine (be it the SOHC 4A-C) which gives them their "86" firewall designation by sharing chassis & engine family. As for my SR5, in this video I still had original SOHC head on, but with the drum brakes swapped out for a disc brake LSD rearend. But now I have since swapped a 16v head on my original bottom end and built a hybrid "4A-GC" using sidedraft carbs instead of switching to EFI. I recorded the whole swap / build process & planned to eventually edit it into a video write up on the whole process!
Its a beast! Seriously though, it looks like a blast. Maybe i'll drift mine when i'm done deghettoing it. Have you run into any issues beating on that 4ac?
nope, not really! worst problems I've had has been fuel cutting when low on gas since I still have a mechanical fuel pump; but aside from that I've put over 50k miles on it with alot of abuse & 2 years of monthly track days
@@Ka1ashOffdog Nice, that is good to hear. I have been wanting to drive mine hard, but it's beat. What suspension are you running on yours? I got some kyb and megan stuff as a bandaid, but it is still pretty sloppy.
Itsuki became an experienced driver I guess
Keep the videos coming tryna build my 4ac to have fun like this
I remember watching your video on tiktok when I called it shit because it wasn't JDM, man I was such a 12vie

Hey, which rear axle did you pull for your lsd rear end. Thanks!

Nice AE85 you have there, doesn't change the fact they are some pretty sweet skills tho.
