Thanks george, I I was having trouble getting labels to stay on and not go back to like the FX4 but I realized from your video I was not locking the name in, so this really helped.
Glad that helped!
Now this is just too funny. I was playing with this a few days ago. I thought it was part of the app the whole time, and that I just had not played with it yet. Lol
Always making improvements lol
thanks George great info again, is there a way to set your engines thatt when you set the speed to 0 the break squeal automaticly the same as f11
Yes! Look into CV 197 (for analog) and 198 (for DCC) and enable the auto-brake there.. Then when you reduce the throttle by a specific number of speed steps per second (set in CV 196) then it will trigger the brake squeal. If you add on constant brake distance (CV 220) then you can stop the same amount of distance regardless of how fast you are going, provided you send the SS0 command..
I hope this helps. Let us know at support@soundtraxx.com if you need any further assistance! ~GB

Another 2 questions, Are the custom function names & menus per locomotive? or are they app-wide settings? And if they are per locomotive, are they saved with the saved with the backup process?
The custom function names are on a per loco basis. If you go into the “manage function panel” and then choose which function you want to rename, rename it then you need to choose the “lock name” option, because on android each time you pair up and it reads all the CVS it will auto rename the functions labels to what they are set to be in the decoder. (I think this is great because if you remap functions then you don’t need to relabel the buttons necessarily). As far as I can tell it is not saved as part of the CV back up process. But it seems like it is stored locally in the app. So if you want that function to always have the custom name it will only apply to that particular locomotive. Say you had 3 engines all with ditchlights on fx3 you will need to go into each engines settings and rename that function and push the lock option, but each time you connect to it the label will be ditchlights.
@@SoundtraxxDCC Would be awesome if the developers added an option to copy labels from a saved locomotive. Then if you had a standard button arrangement , you could quickly apply it to all of your fleet.
Question: are these function list changes carried to other devices if you connect a customized locomotive to another android device? And if not, is there a way to copy the custom menus to another device?
No. each device has those settings stored inside.
And it cannot be shared between devices, so it will have to be entered on each device.
@@SoundtraxxDCC That's too bad. Maybe your developer can find a way to make that happen?
It would be real nice if the two menus for your functions (f1-28) if you could move them around so that way, you wouldn’t have to go from page to page you could just put it all on one page….. maybe an idea.
I'm just a user here, but are you asking for a single column function list as opposed to two?
Just curious.
Thanks for the suggestion. We will keep it in mind.
