Learn how to play Fire, as performed by The Jimi Hendrix Experience released in 1967 on their debut album "Are You Experienced?"
The lesson covers all of Jimi's parts as best as I can replicate them (both rhythm and lead guitar parts). I also speak a bit about the gear I'm using to try to get his tone from the record.

You've replicated this song so well my friend. So easy to follow and learn. Also Pedals and knobs were great tips ...Many thanks.
Reverse wound pickups work well to remove some hum . Third stone from the Sun uses octaves too , great lesson .
I’ve watched several of your videos, and they’re all great - especially the Hendrix stuff. Well done!
And thanks for taking the time for the iso solos
Also, Thanks to JACKSON AUDIO for CONNECTING EITH and BRINGING FULLTONE Back!!!
Man-I am watching your videos more and more. Your attention to detail is exceptional. The ability for us to learn from you is made easy by your positive presence. I have a ‘63 white fender Strat and an older Fender Deluxe Amp Brown so I love to try Jim’s stuff so thanks!
Thanks. What a great combo of gear! Wow
Thanks!! I had a Giant 6 ft. Black & White Poster of JIMI, Playing his White Upside Down, Right Mad LEFTY - I'm a LEFTY - So, he was a Super HERO To Me!!!
Well, maybe it was 4 ft., but I was in the 10th Grade and it seemed Big!! I tried yo find it, but no luck, so far...
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day Doug ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
So great 12 foot chain!
amazing..thanks
Hell yeah✌🏼
So unfortunately I sold my Voodoo Lab Octavia pedal a number of years ago when I was living in Savannah Georgia but I have a pretty good Maxon Water Fuzz but it doesn’t go an octave higher. BUT THANK YOU FOR THE LESSON! Rock on my brother
Great stuff man, thanks.
Wow, great lesson. You got my sub!
Welcome!
I would like to hear " Hear My Train a Comin . " Berkeley California May 1970 First Show . 🇺🇸🎸🎼🎼🎼✨✨✨✨🤟
My favorite version in the Concerts album version which is an edited version of the version on the Winterland album.
Great as always! ❤
It would be epic a lesson for hey babe new rising sun live at Berkeley
Jimi, El Becko and EVH; the Rock Guitar Genius Trilogy.
I think Hendrix used Noels Telecaster with the octavia fuzz pedal on the guitar solo purple haze, Fire, and foxey lady.
Well course... Seattle....you got the hendrix attitude.
move over Rover and let Jimi take over 🎸 great lesson. Thanks
Hey great lesson as always thank you! Any chance you could find the time to do a tutorial on how to play Bryan Adams song 'Cant stop this thing we started ' please.if you have the time id really appreciate it. It's a fab song I'm sure you will agree. If you haven't the time I understand as well. Many thanks 🎸!
🎸🎸👍👍❤️
In your signal chain…. You’ve spec’d everything except the amp (unless I’m overlooking it?). Is it that Plexi over your left shoulder? Great video thank you! 😊
Thanks will fix that. It's my 63 fender bassman
What speakers in that bass man?checked out that guy.i saw him a while back.halfway there.never sell yourself short.doubt if u do.you a bad player with great ears.would love to hear your space music.peace.
Oxfords
Cool, now do Stone Free please
I'm sure I've been playing it wrong for decades.
I second this. But I'd also like the video for this to explore the variations in the Hendrix at the BBC version, as it's a much more exciting and swinging version.
Just a correction, Jimi was around for years playing in other bands before he emerged as a solo artist in 1967. He was in the Isley Brothers and with Little Richard. He had to go to London to really break through.
I'm confused, did I claim something about Jimi's career?
Non sequitur Definition & Meaning
: a statement (such as a response) that does not follow logically from or is not clearly related to anything previously said
Good info but not a correction. No one even addressed Jimi’s full career in this video.
Correction you misspelled correlation
Ha!
Ok
Does that guitar have a treble bleed ? Still sounds very clear when you lower the volume knob.
No
Nerd comment. When Jimi was at his producers house it was cold. The dog was in front of the fireplace. Jimi wanted some heat from the fire so he said move over rover. Let Jimi take over. So let me stand next to your fire was literally trying to get warm. Not some sexual innuendo
Is it fair to say, Hendricks was the Prince of His time??❤❤❤🙏🙏🪬🪬💎💎🥃🥃🇬🇧🇬🇧
❤ love your unique lessons.❤
👍
Are you familiar with Randy Hansen??man you get the tone for all covers down really close for low volume.
Yep, I'm from Seattle, saw him a bunch and he's the vest Hendrix guy ever
@@12footchain Check out Julijan Eric if you haven't already! 😮
First song I learned when I started playing electric guitar because my fingers will only allow me to play 2 note chords
If you knock the pick outta my hand I swear I'll come over there re-adjust the knobs on all your amps! 🤭
Lol
I knew that not.
I played that song over and over and over when I was a kid. Btw your guitar is upsidedown
I know that was cringe
Lol
I watched it upside down and still didn't help
Too much chit chat, too little info.
