Since it's used for Monster Hunting, you could call this a Stalker. Not only for the meaning of that word, but because it could be a contraction of Stilt Walker as well. Stiltwalker was my first idea. =)
The Bob Ross of model improv is back once again to layer on details and impress the shit out of us! If my father was still alive this would be his favorite series hands down. He loved sci fi and westerns so much. Thank you for sharing your hobby time with us.
The more this world continues to grow, all I can think of is an awesome open world game. I mean that would be so cool if you could customize your own mech and ride around in it, hunting monsters for extra cash on the side.
So I would imagine it would be the result of what would happen if Titanfall, red dead redemption and monster hunter had a threesome and birthed this game
Another incredibly impressive build! Have you considered adding a train station / Wild West train to your town collection? I think you could work wonders with that duo.
Do you know of a type of machine called a “strandbeest”?It’s a wind powered walking machine with multiple legs. A walking train using this type of locomotion would be cool to see.
Have you seen kabaneri of the iron fortress? Well I feel a train similar to the one on that show would be a awesome idea to add to the wild west monster world.
If you’re trying to keep with the more ‘frontier’ style names, I’d advise calling this an E.L.K, maybe part of a larger naming system for stilt-legged mechs based off of deer/ungulates?
These mechs are used for long term monster hunting in extreme terrain, such as snow, heavy rain, swamps, and large mountains. Unlike other monster hunting vehicles, these act more like tree stands, allowing hunters to get a good view on a monster from a longer distance. Inside the main cabin, all of these mechs have a built in stove and radio, as well as a place to sleep, and store weapons/food. The crane on the back can attach to crates to lift supplies, but they are most notably used to attach to hunters, allowing them to do repairs on the mech without the need to stop.
These are always a Wonder to watch, AMAZING. You really should sit down and write a short story of this world! It would BECOME A BEST SELLER! I'd BUY IT! These are EPIC!! SAVED!!! As always!! Fav!!
Love the concept, and i think that "Strider" would be a good name because of the long legs. I easily imagine this one being able to take long range trips in shorter times compared to other mechs, or be used as a scouting mech ahead of hunting parties with heavier, beefier mechs.
I also favor strider, but do not think they're fast. But maybe they can handle all terains including swamps or can be used going thru forest and collecting things which hang higher in the trees.
@@aGentleUser That thing could also be used as a mobile ice fishing hut, those slim legs should be great to break through the ice so that you can make your way into the middle of the lake. And when i hear Strider i think of a Silt Strider from Morrowind, which even looks incredible similar
Having this house-on-a-mech seems like something a prospector would use to stake his claim, since it offers more shelter than a mule, while still allowing the prospector to travel quickly and race to good claims. If prospectors were one of the first groups to use this type or mech, maybe it could be called a claim jumper?
Oh boy, I'm already imagining some wacky crap that goes down with these things, especially while hunting monsters. Picture this, pair of guys chasing a scorpion stampede, and then "You mount a HARPOON GUN on dad's CLAIM JUMPER!?" "Well yeah, it's not like he was using it for much."
I like imagining the controls for these mechs. If they have limited autopilot for easy to traverse terrain and climbing and uneven terrain needs a pilots percision
"When I felt pain, I knew it was time to stop drilling..." 😂😂😂 The characterful modelling and droll commentary make these videos a real pleasure. I really like the bent wire used for railings, pipes and complex cable runs.
Incredible build since wagon mech are called mules you could keep the same theme going for the larger 4 legged mechs and call them Oxen since those animals in the old west were used pull the larger wagons. also I like how you ad safety features like hand rails
I swear I love this stuff. I could watch it all day. I can't wait until you have enough built were you can actually tell a story with all of them. Hopefully there's a way you can show one of the mechanics actually catching one of these monsters like the fight scene in action.
I am consistently delighted by these WIW-verse builds, especially with how strong OSHA is in this universe. Of course anyone striding across a frozen tundra full of monsters needs to have proper work safety. No reason to add yet another thing that can kill you.
My 18th birthday is today and I was so happy to see you post about you imaginary wild western world. It's my favorite theme you do on the channel. Keep up the amazing work man!
I think you should call these protective-warning mechs Canaries. Kind of a nod to the canary being brought into the mine shaft to alert miners of dangerous gasses. That's my vote!
Your builds are incredibly impressive, but it’s your dry humor that keeps me coming back! I totally lost it at “I made sure to keep my thumb underneath so that when I feel pain, I know to stop drilling.” Loving the Imaginary Wild West series! The way you made those UV resin icicles was genius.
This is one of the best mech designs i have ever seen. I love that Dalinian aesthetic you gave it. The design of the legs is amazing. I can already imagine a whole faction of Russian settlers coming from Alaska with mechs of this type that are good to move in tundras and frozen lands.
I love the idea of this thing climbing up a mountain to an overlook position. Okay, now you've got me wondering if all those other buildings you've done have legs tucked up under them. It would be wild to see the entire town uproot itself and walk away like some sort of herd... git along little doggie!
Wow! You blew my mind with the idea of legs tucked up under all the buildings. So brilliant. It was right there in front of me, but I would never have seen it.
This totally looks like something that would come up as humanity learns to manage the icy wilderness in this setting and maybe a setting like frostpunk. I love it man!
I'm loving the western monster hunter series. I think since the mules are smaller and named after a beast of burden then the larger one should share the same trait. One larger beast of burden is a camel but that could be for a specific water carrier. I recommend this larger type be called Yaks.
I could imagine one of those giant mechs having to head to head against some kind of monster, a giant beast slowly lumbering out of the forest or something. Gotta say you have made one awesome world bursting at the seams with potential. Didn't think I'd like a steampunk wild west but I changed my mind immediately.
I think it would be a AWESOME idea to take one of your awesome models, and send it to a popular mini painter to see what they can do. I think the end product would be so cool!
This specific model reminds me of Frostpunk with all the snow. I think i might start my own model creation with the idea of that world. I can't get over how beautiful the snow looks on the model!
This channel is pure gold! There may be other modelling youtubers who use more sophisticated techniques, but the pure creativity shown here is just amazing.
This turned out pretty awesome. Those large monsters are huge. This things size definitely makes sense. I'm sure it helps spy those huge monsters before they so you too. Watchtower wouldn't be a bad name itself.
Very cool. I really like how you come up with this stuff. I also liked the snow/frosty parts as well. It really shows its in the wild. Very cool. Maybe make a huge fortress. The guitar strings is one of the coolest add ons I've seen yet, it's like they were made to be pipes and railings lol
So glad I found your channel, love your work! I suggest a tadpole roast on the lake shore (think "shore lunch") The men would be "fishing" man sized tadpoles with frog gig harpoons while a giant mama frog watches while floating nearby. Perhaps some sort of fishing reel mech would be in use. Keep up the great work!
Excellent suggestion! Making the babies of the monsters the size of walrus or hippos is a delightful way to underline the scale difference between them and humans. And there might be model sets out there with tadpoles and frogs in relevant scale, which is a feature lacking from most ideas I read on here.
You’re awesome attention to detail is impeccable!! Lover watch you transform nothing into something. Can’t wait for next week’s episode on Boylei Hobby Time.
Another home run Caleb! Love the scale of this thing compared to the rider on the ground. Everything looked appropriately icy and frozen. And your backstories are just as interesting as the builds themselves, making the world even more fleshed out.
I think the next logical thing to survey the vast plaines would be some sort of steerable ballon or dirigible… maybe similar to that UFO sketch in the old newspaper article. Go for it! Later pal. Great work as usual.
I'm digging how you're melding the current time of year into the theme of each build in the series. It's starting to feel like winter out there (at least where I live)
I absolutely love these videos. The world that you are building is awesome and I look forward to each update that further expands it’s rules, habitants, and aesthetics.
i imagin this in the middle of a monster hunting party camp keeping watch with a few mules parked around it love this build and the world you are building it is awsome keep it up i always look forword to your vids
Congratulations again. One of the things that I admire the most about your creations is your ability to invent new trinkets from disconnected pieces that once put together make sense. I find the creative process very inspiring and from which I always learn something new. Thanks for sharing the videos and go ahead with them. 👍😉
This guy does great work! but it is weird that I've been watching his videos back-to-back today for his voice? There's something very soothing about it and is putting me in a relaxing mood. had at be at a 7:30 meeting at work today, on my day off, and so now that I'm home I don't want to do anything. So I'm watching youtube videos as I draw. Listening to him describe what he's doing is nice and then when he's done, I get to see the final build. So, i don't have to pay that close attention to the screen so I can focus on what I'm drawing, but something about his tone is just nice to the ears. Dude should do audio books.
Since it's used for Monster Hunting, you could call this a Stalker. Not only for the meaning of that word, but because it could be a contraction of Stilt Walker as well. Stiltwalker was my first idea. =)
Stalker sounds good for the two-legged walker
Great idea, also because it kinda walks on "stalks"!
@@tiffanyrockwell2239 He could call it a "Scout" seeing that it's a mobile whilst still fitting the same concept of observation.
I like the name

like RDR, hunt showdown, and star wars mixed together
IM SO IN

I really need to see this movie…
...or read the book
Another incredibly impressive build!
Have you considered adding a train station / Wild West train to your town collection? I think you could work wonders with that duo.
Yes! That would be awesome. With a monster transport cage car
@@hoguemr yes! Maybe instead of a cattle train, a line of similar train cars designed for carrying monsters back East that have been captured/hunted.
It needs to be an armored train, since it is a dangerous land.

I was thinking moose but elk or reindeer works just as well
Caribou?
I was thinking beasts of burden. These are machines fulfilling the purpose that an animal would serve. So a Camel, maybe.
I agree
Maybe it should de a horse tipe animal name such as : gazelle , antílope, elk/moose ,deer etc…
I love this mash up. I see an entire drama series, part "Wild, Wild West", part "Predator".

Maybe used to get the horse up and down too?
@@RedStrayHound i suspect the horse is teathered visa just a rope hanging form the venteral strut or something.
