Unfortunately I only got to them 1 time but I won't ever forget that one time. It was back in 2008. Testament opened then Motorhead then Heaven n Hell and last was Judas Priest. Still to this day its one of the highlights of all the concerts I've seen. 🤘🤘 RIP Lemmy
Only once, in 2010 in Brighton, England. I tried to see them again since, but they always cancelled due to Lemmy's health. I feel lucky to have seen them at all. 🤘🏽 Viva Motörhead 🤘🏽
Doing a world tour at 70 years old with diabetes, heart disease and a brain tumor must be hell on earth. He was probably on a lot of speed and medication to be able to perform.
It's actually quite beautiful. Lemmy was a modern day warrior and seeing him fight through the pain and Death looming over his shoulder can bring you to tears. He's was one of the living embodiments of "until the very end."
Two weeks later Lemmy was gone. You have to love what you do, and the fans you do it for, to keep performing so close to the end of your life while being so ill. Look at the 'pop stars' who throw a hissy fit over piddly things or make the fans wait two hours before starting the show... what a difference.
I saw Motorhead on what turned out to be their final US tour in 2015, I was 18 and I was my first solo concert. When I say it was life changing I'm not exaggerating, it was also the loudest show I've been to still to this day and I still think about that show. Thank you MP for allowing me to reminisce.
I actually seen them when I was 18 too but that was 35+ years ago. They opened for Alice Cooper. I ll never forget them coming on stage and he said something like “Its f*cling freezing here I am never coming back!” What did the crowd do cheered as loud as they could! I think if other person had said that they would have been boo’ed out of the stadium! Not Lemmy people were just like “Cool man it is freezing here so we dont blame him!” LOL God love em!
That has just put a huge grin across my face hearing Lemmy say that. Saw them many times here in England and they always delivered the goods. Raising a glass here to everyone who contributed to the music of MOTÖRHEAD with much love and gratitude. Hope you don’t mind Lemmy but I named my kitten after you,I think you would approve. Miss you so much.
Seen them more times than I can remember , everytime they were true to themselves and gave everything on stage Best memory is from a nightclub in Gothenburg ,Park Lane ,they played a five song set in the middle of the night , we sat on the edge of the stage close enough to reach out and touch them, for the encour Phil had ran out of pics , my friend lent him a bass pic, and guess what ! Phil gave it back to him afterwards 😁🤘 Best wishes from Sweden , WE ARE MOTORHEAD
One of the 5 times I saw them was at a bar in Cedar Rapids, IA around 2003. No showbills. Nothing on their website or anywhere on the internet. They ran a few radio ads for a couple of days. Thankfully I heard one of them. Maybe 200 people there. At the middle of the show Lemmy said, "we usually stop here but we're going to keep paying because this is the way it used to be." They played a double set. Utterly fucking amazing.
At 49 I've seen MOTORHEAD about 12 times. One being operation rock and roll tour back in 1991 or 92 but seen them before and many times after. Oh and another with In Seattle in 92 with Ramones..... RAMONES & MOTORHEAD two of the greatest band that played rock & roll ever, I miss them both a lot
Thanks for doing this video, Vlad. I never met Lemmy, obviously, yet when I heard he had died, I cried. I felt like l had lost an uncle that I looked up to. Weird, I guess, but true. But that's the thing about Metal, isn't it, and the truly great performers: they make you feel as though you actually know them; their music--and, in Lemmy's case, his decency and intelligence--become integral to your life.
I shed some tears the day he died, some more they aired his funeral - and did again watching this short video! I can't remember how often I saw them live, I really don't. One thing that really stuck with me, is an interview I read in a german metal magazine in the late '90s, where Lemmy was asked on the advice he would give to the youth. Now, I think the interviewer tried to lead him on thin ice (for what ever reason anyway), but Lemmy being Lemmy gave a short answer, ending with: "But the hell should I know? I'm just another tattler, I mean, I might be as wrong as anybody else!" Legend.
It was my first concert ever, in my hometown, and there were 24 more gigs following. My last concert was his 3 last gig in Ludwigsburg. I miss him every day. 😪😪😪
I just ordered a ton of Motorhead albums, so excited for em to get here because its been long overdue for me to get all their albums. I slept on some of those 90s and early 2000s ones for so long!! I LOVE Sacrifice, We Are Motörhead, Inferno, Kiss Of Death and Snake Bite Love!!! I heard all their albums years and years ago but only ever revisited 80s ones tbh, i feel like its best to soak them in five albums at a time. What a phenomenonal band!
RIP Lemmy. He’s my inspiration for bass guitar. We will see you next time, Lemmy. We won’t forget you. “I am he who hath lived and then died and behold, I’m alive forever more. And I bear the keys to heaven, hell and of death.” - Revelation 1:18. ✝️🙏🏻❤️🔥🎤🎼🎸✊🏻
Lemmy knew that it was his last show and he knew even better that he didn’t had much longer to live but he didn’t care he wanted to play has loud as he can like he always done before This man wasn’t afraid of death at all. In fact the reason why he lived until 70 was because death was afraid of him
You could clearly see he was not very well, several months prior. The Glastonbury Festival appearance in the June, the wicked spark in his Eyes was gone, I don't ever wish to see that performance again. I think Bowie died just 3 weeks later as well.
That Lemmy is standing on the stage so sick tells all about his loyalty to his fans! Not many other musicians would do the same! And the music that Motörhead played is physically very demanding. And I am pretty sure that he had a lot of pain. Respect!🫡 Lemmy! Hope you are well now, and still rocking hard with your friends!
By all accounts, Lemmy knew he was dying and went on stage time after time and just did whatever he could. The man died as he lived; a goddamn badass and true rock and roll star
Lemmy couldn't perform the Sao Paulo concert, scheduled for April 25th, at the Monsters Of Rock, as he felt really ill that weekend. Phil and Mikkey performed 3 songs with Sepultura's Andreas Kisser and Derrick Green that night, while Lemmy recovered enough to play the following date on Curitiba, 2 days later. It was a shame since I didn't watch what would be my first Motörhead show.
In my 40s been alot of amazing ozzfests in WPB... Heard Motorhead, Anthrax, playing in Pompano , went to warp tour late there late 90s, intimate little amphitheater, like a bowl. Every seat is close... had 2wrk, late missed anthra :( Lemmy Pompano amphitheater (got ticket @ gate, was about 2/3 way back, perfect. Line of vision head on.. 1st row u lookin at thier feet... ) never got into motorhead before, I went with blue shirt light brown shorts, black boot type shoes from wrk, Fuck it I was late, drinking on the way, had less than $100 think I got 4 double shot drinks, first time alone at concert, was meeting lady friend in boca, afterwards, 2 hr Drive south... One of the best shows/ experiences to date. Had no idea how sick, hurting Lemmy was at the time. WE ARE MOTORHEAD AND WE PLAY ROCK AND ROLL!! Felt like special different night, I was off to his left hand side, they took a break after awhile, Little room, just behind his stacks of amps, I could see diagonally in there, they were having good time drinking Jack and Coke break probably. Little did I know that was his last real show he gave it his all even though he was in so much pain... Whenever they turned the lights on us, I gave him 2 thumbs up Instead of the typical devil horns ... Shit you not at the end of the show. All lights on us, I yelled from my guts as loud as I could, the three of them, Bowed, and soaked all in.... and yes he looked right at me gave me 2 thumbs up also Big smile and grateful look.. Special night, found out years later, he played cuple songs next show r 2 and then said too much pain... Lemmy played and sang the drummer was freaking really good, the guitarist was taking front stage also, 3 piece band and they were older war horses. Beautiful, special thing to be a part of and watch Lemmys last send off ...
Right to the end, as a real performer does, still dressing as he wants instead of turning into a worthless fanny pack wearing old man (*cough cough* Metallica)
I only liked I’ll be your sister. Other than that this band is overrated and I couldn’t get into their songs. Uninteresting and funny how they always rejected the metal label and said they played rock n roll, when they didn’t sound rock n tall at all. They sounded like a metal NWOBHM rock n roll band if anything. Still had metal NWOBHM sounding powerchords
Have you ever seen Motörhead live? If so, how many times?🤘

Just once, but it was a blast! Lemmy even singed my ace of spades card I had in my wallet!
Lemmy was so sick by that point. Videos of it are hard to watch. Sad to see him like that
Must've been in extreme pain , he rocked out to the very end 😢 never gonna find another like him 🤘

I never got to see them, and it's really unfortunate. It's something I would've told my grandchildren about.
