I actually enjoyed most the bosses in this game despite the criticisms. Here’s hoping the sequel Wo Longer gets a bit more success
I enjoyed it a lot as well. Kind of like a movie I'm glad I watched once, but will never see again. A solid experience worth your time
@@theDeModcracy I will prob return to fight blindfolded boy and lu bu cause they’re amazing fights(specifically lu bu)
@@theDeModcracy is the game worth its price tag??? What do u think, should I buy it or save up for something else?
Wo Long 2: 2 Long 2 Furious
@@thewarhamster8139 2 Fallen, 2 Dynasties
I definitely agree with Lu Bu being the hardest boss!
Non demon lu bu was definitely the hardest boss in the game. I died way more times to him than any of the main bosses. Even demon form was a lot easier
@@Blinker485 Yeah, I got nervous because I still had a lot of missions after this, and I thought the difficulty would continue to gradually rise after Lu Bu. Sadly, I was disappointed about that.
i fought lu bu so many times, trying to get to his second phase. First phase is cake walk, second phase time to hunch over.
Lu bu from record of ragnarok???
@@Blinker485 Lu Bu is not that hard at all
I love how Taotie is basically the mausoleum in Elden Ring, but they give it a health bar and tag it as a boss
gotta say, the "Obligatory Duo Boss" (yan liang and wen chou) revive mechanic can only make me think "wow, why couldnt from soft do this for godskin duo, it looks so much more enjoyable"
You mean when they come back but with less HP? Then they’d need to make both bosses have separate hp bars(godskin duo shares 1) or they’d need to revive but remove hp from their own hp bar. It’d make the boss a lot easier, and less annoying in both forms.
Duo boss that can revive each other .. never saw that one in souls games :D .. when I saw that I instantly saw throne watcher/defender :D
@@AskwhoQ funny part is, they have examples of duo bosses having seperate hp bars but they decided to make godskin duo the shared massive hp bar
Lu Bu's first fight has been considered the hardest boss in the game by many and I have to agree. He's also my favorite boss in the game and compared to Nioh 2's boss quality I would say he's on par compared to some of the best from that game.
Since there is going to be dlc for this game at some point I wonder if you'll return to rerank the bosses with dlc at some point. Hopefully team ninja will learn from some of the criticisms and make the dlc good.
I guess people just are overly aggressive to attack him and thats why they die, I found him to be the fairest fight in the game and the most enjoyable, but all of his attacks are really easy to deflect so it did only take me a few tries to kill him, the clone boss and Aoye took my atleast 15 times each to kill because they just feel donwright unfair, I mean Aoye insra dashes towards you the second you enter the arena
Just make every fight in the dlc a version of lu bu and you got a good dlc
they should make an expansion instead of a DLC, and sell just one package, I did not buy the ones on Strangers on Paradise since Bahamut looks awesome but the others are lame, maybe not the last one that much, but just one expansion would be better.
Never played Nioh 2 but I fought it was a bit harder than Wo Long but I guess not. Lu Bu was not the hardest for me at all, he has power and basically nothing else above other hard bosses in the game.
I'm glad you got around to making this, was an enjoyable watch even though I disagreed with many placements lol. For example, Zhang Liao (static shock) was one of the hardest bosses for me due to his overwhelming speed and damage, but was definitely my favorite. It was soooo satisfying keeping up with his superhuman pace and deflecting nearly everything he did. I haven't seen anyone else have this take but I thought I would share. :)
Same for me, he spanked me around for hours. It was the first time i did a hard respec in my playthrough as I was waaay under-spec'd in metal.
Yeah lightning boy was challenging as hell when I got to him, his rematch was a bit easier tho.
Well Zhang Liao was one of the greatest generals of the era by far so of course he wouldn't be a pushover.
It's a good boss fight. My favorite, as well.
Lu Bu really was THAT guy. His and Zhang Liang's fights felt annoying at the start. But as I went on and learned the rhythm I forgot about depleting their HP and instead focused on dancing with them. Overall the game really shines when it throws the human bosses at you. Except Clone Guy.
Aoye was by far the most annoying boss. I was glad to be done with that fight. Then there was a late game section where I randomly jumped into an area with an optional Aoye fight. Just as annoying as when you fight him the first time. Screw that furry demon bull.
I have the very same thought on LB and his lighting lieutenant. And yea, Aoye is just that uber annoying boss, except that I murdered the 2nd one quite effortlessly (that arena was very sus, kinda reminded me of the 1st ulcerated tree spirit at the bottom of storm veil in elden ring, so yeah, I built up my morale to 25 before diving in there lol)
Zhuyan was actually the most infuriating boss in the game for me but not on its own merits. I hadnt realized that equipment weight could stop you from being able to deflect so I spent a good hour or so getting one shot and getting more and more pissed off, thinking he was busted or something until I finally looked up what was going on
I didn't realize armor upgrades were a thing until just before Lu Bu, and I didn't know how to upgrade my healing flask until Zhang Rang. I got quite frustrated that basic enemies were one shotting me until I realized how much harder I was making the game for myself.
i realized that when i got to Fengxi
I loved this game but man I found it COMICALLY easy (compared to Nioh and Fromsoft Souls games) but from what I've been noticing, it's because I used a Staff and the lightning buff, and all my gear was buffing lightning damage. Most bosses were at under 60% health before I even got to see a red attack from the absurd damage and free stuns the lightning buff gave me.
The staff is BUSTED. I swapped between that and a fire enchanted Halberd so I had damage for DAYS
I remember almost dropping my controller in relief after beating Lu Bu with a inch of health left and rng 🤣
I just got off of a 6 month deployment in the Navy. I remember I started watching your videos way back in the day when you started making boss rankings. I remember when you made the boss ranking for Doom Eternal and I made it into the intro. Glad to see you're still making fantastic videos and plan to make more!
And no worries, you and I share the same sense of comedy!
The rush of finally, finally, *finally* beating Lu Bu, and beating him cause I'd played it well not lucky was absolutely incredible...
When I started this video I literally said if Aoye wasn't in top 5 I would be highly upset. Glad we all suffered on that boss, and I was not prepared to see him again near the endgame.
Aoye was harder than the overrated Lu Bu for me personally lol.
@@lancekemal8989aoye was not difficult lol
@@nikko6493 imposing slab ( earth virtue spell ) will absolutely destroy aoye
I know right. I can’t believe people are saying that was hard. I struggled more with it the second time but even then it wasn’t bad. The first was a cakewalk though.
You gotta admit, the boss designers are phenomenal
I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this game when I loved Nioh 1 and 2. Thank you for making this video because now I will play this lmao
If you loved Nioh, I think you'll enjoy it a lot! The gear system, character building, and level design is very similar. The combat feels like the counter system in Nioh 2 made the central focus. Glad I could spread awareness lol
Lu Bu was my first and only roadblock in the game. Took me 5 days to platinum. I probably enjoyed the 3 on 1 sub mission Tigers Loyal Subjects the most.
Landing two red criticals while fighting the 3rd one gave me a feeling that little could match
excited to see demod back with another ranking video i have played a bit of wo long it looked really promising excited to see your opinion on the bosses
Been waiting for this vid ! I know Lu Bu will be one but this game seemingly has many different experiences from people
Such a coincidence to see this video just as i'm about to finish the last fight! Great video, normally your videos on boss difficulty correlates with my experiences, such as Malenia, Demon of Hatred and Sigrun topping their respective lists, but Wo Long was so over the place. Liu Bei was the hardest boss for me by a decent margin with Lu Bu being second, i only missed one marking flag and i got decimated. I completely agree on Lu Bu being the best.
Demon of hatred is bs, Malenia, well I haven't reach out to that part, and Lu Bu is a great boss, Kamaitachi cifra, Magara Naotaka and Kasha and Nyotengu, I liked Ren also but the guy is a pain in the arse from Nioh.
@@dontbothertoreply9755 Good luck on Malenia if you're planning to face her without summons, no fromsoft boss is even close when it comes to her difficulty imo, easily the hardest boss i've ever fought. After facing her i'm far more at ease when fighting Demon of Hatred. She's the only boss that i could confidently say, fromsoft went a little too far, but with that said, she's still learnable. I'm still yet to play Nioh and Nioh 2, but i've heard a lot about Jin and Ren Hayabusa haha. I can't wait to get decimated in those games.
Aoye was way harder than Lu Bu for me. I still don't get why people say Lu Bu is the hardest boss overall. I never had that experience.
@@lancekemal8989 easy, hes the fastest boss that requires you to be able to deflect pretty well and its not a short fight either. aoye was more annoying than hard for me.
@@rhyswhittington8759 He's nowhere near the fastest boss. Liu Bei is by Far and Yu Ji and Sun Jian are also much faster
I was wondering if you were gonna cover this game. Great list!
Always a fun time to see Themod upload a video.
Please cover the DLC bosses. It's a bummer you never did for Nioh 2 so I'm hoping you will for Wo Long's three DLCs. 🙏
Finally!! Been waiting for this video since the game’s release, thank you.
I legitimately enjoyed this game and I'm excited for the DLC.
I've been so eager for the RE4 remake boss ranking that I hit this link quicker than a Fountain Head Palace lightning bolt. Never read the caption and honestly thought I clicked on the wrong link lol, but love to see new games come through! Look forward to checking this one out 😁
Just finished RE4R and hustling to make the ranking for that. Aiming for early next week. Thanks for watching this in the meantime!
@@theDeModcracy also, remember the names of some of the bosses, the last ranking made some poeple "triggered" because you didn't know Verdugo and Garrador.
Thanks for the reminder! I have them down this time
And a week after this video a whole bunch of the bosses received changes including 'added more attack combo patterns'. In particular Yuan Shao seems to have received a whole heap of buffs. I guess when you return to this game later on it's going to look very different potentially.
I have yet to play this game fully, I did beat the tutorial but that's it. It's awesome to see Lu Bu being the hardest boss in this game because I'm a big Dynasty Warriors fan and he is by far the hardest enemy to beat when you come across him. Most likely the second map you play, he's there and you just started playing the game lol I think he got a little bit easier over the past few games but he's still a beast! So it's great they kept that for Lu Bu!
Using the spell that rains ice spikes works wonders on Lu Bu's centaur form due his size and weakness to cold, Killed him with 3 or 4 casts
Damn demod, I was actually worried for you. For a while no videos, no twitch streams, gone for months after you had a ''schedule''. I was genuinely worried but i'm glad to see you're still up and about. Stay safe my man.
Nice to see you are still with us
There's two things that help alot against tough bosses: finding out what element they are weak against and leveling up Zhang Fei to level 10 asap. All living humans are weak against poison. So that's an easy one. Zhang Fei's spear plus a Power Up jewel and his outfilt quickly builds up a status effect that interrupts many enemy hits. Then you can just spam attacks until the status effect wears off. It's kinda hilarious once you get it. You plus a Zhang Fei and Guan Yu at level 5 oath can force Lu Bu into a corner and just wail on him non-step. Equip the Mega Creature spell that adds ice to weapons. Just destroys Lu Bu
Just got out of math class so I'll tell y'all an equation.
I see a new Demod Video = I watch
Loved Wo Long, Can't wait to see your ranking :)
Nioh 2 is a master piece. I’m let down with wu long. Hopefully they can turn it all around with a dlc
For a split second I was like “did the wukong game come out?”
I'm sure someone mentioned it but just in case. Did you know you can deflect all ranged and magic attacks? You can chain deflect through AOEs too.
Its crazy how easy this game is
I was surprised as well. Other than the top handful, the bosses were well below the difficulty I've come to expect in the great "soulslike" genre
Awsome vid man! I loved the bosses in WoLong. I think my favorites still lie in the Nioh 2 dlc's though.
Thanks! That's high praise. I should really check out the Nioh 2 DLC's. I completely forgot about them.
@@theDeModcracy They are filled with epic content! Feels like what the Nioh 1 DLC'S could have been. But they are also ballbustingly dificult... in a good way
@@theDeModcracy of you are looking at DLCs check out KH3 Remind. You get 14 super bosses and a new gold standard for KH secret bosses. Would love to see a ranking of them
You gotta love when daddy Dmod drops a new video!
Great video man! Have you considered a stranger of paradise boss ranking now that all the dlc is out? It's probably my favorite "soulslike" to date
Really. I wanna get it simply because I think team ninja is that good I'll play whatever they're offering
Your sense of humor and wits with words makes your mumbling enjoyable.
Lore-wise it makes perfect sense that Lu Bu is the hardest boss
He is the most warrioring Dynasty Warrior of all the 3 kingdoms.
Can anybody provide me with a decent challenge?
@@thewarhamster8139 warrioring. Love it
Not the hardest boss for me by a long shot.
There’s no way you put Yu Ji that low and Aoye that high. That is wild. I also struggled quite a lot with Taotie since the red projectiles it’d send out were so hard to see and the second phase was quite difficult to deflect.
Interesting.... 🧐 May have to check this game out...once it is on sale at some point. Lol Games just be too expensive to try and catch 'em all in the same year they get releases in, imo (looking at you, Pokemon! 😐).
Always love to see ya boi, DMod, make a video!! Hope to see more throughout the rest of the year!! 👌
Number 3 was a huge surprise for me, ngl. I'm terrible at this game, no joke. So I'm definitely not implying that I'm better than you at it. But these multiple bosses were absolutely easy mode. I think it's related to my build. I'm using a double sword that has a martial arts movement that goes slightly to the side and dashes in a circular move towards the target in a fair distance strike (edit: beckoning pine). I've abused this like... I've spammed this throughout the whole fight because I was moving non-stop and avoiding 90% of the bullshit that all of them were throwing at me. It was one combo and then there was the staggered clone. On the third try, I realized that the spirit bar thing is shared between these clones and the master boss, so I could stagger a clone, ignore the critical hit, and use the already depleted bar of the boss to score a critical hit on the boss. I didn't heal once and destroyed the boss on the first try. I'm not lying when I say I'm horrible at this game. I think it was just luck to have a busted counter-build to this thing.
I don't think Lu Bu was that hard, tbh, a fair share of those below him in the list felt harder. The main challenge during his encounter was the absurd amount of graphic bugs in the level, including the "pixel bleed" turning my whole screen white.
Though I do have to agree that, on the rare occasions that I was allowed to fight him without hiccups, it was certainly the most enjoyable fight in the game.
I love your bosses videos
Keep it up
The dodge took 2 presses of circle because deflect, requiring one hit of circle, was something they encouraged more than dodging, because you can deflect literally everything
And from any direction. You can deflect even EXPLOSIONs.
Cool guys don't walk away from explosions. They deflect them.
Yo noice upload also I love this game, gave me that sekiro itch.
I am currently stuck on Lu Bu and this makes me feel a lot better
It took me forever to beat lu bu but I loved fighting him every single time he was Wo Longs version of Rahdan lol
I'm rather glad that Aoye is ranked quite high in here, because it's where I was stuck at before my holiday 😂. Looking forward to beating it when I get back.
One word.
A..O..Y...YEEEEEEEE!
Fighting this tormenting beast in the last bonus mission as you are Morale 13 against his 20, making any red attack a one shot an absolute nightmare to get through. This boss gave me mental scars that are sure to never fully heal.
Aoye can easily be taken down with two metal spells Venom Snare and Life Wither. It sure to die quickly with a few select deflects and attacks. Just make the spells are up after fatal attacks. I discovered on the high difficulty mode
Do you even have Venom Snare by that boss fight?
i loved Lu Bu once I read the strats on him. You can get frost lance, a level 1 spell that gets rid of the fire
What took you so long? I was eagerly waiiiiting for this video.. ❤️

A tip for Zhang Rang if you use the skill of healing whil damaging then is becamos a walk in the park i never needed to heal myself with my items.
Lu Bu, Zhang Rang, Zhang Liang is definitely the hardest for me. They are harder on NG+.
I love this game.
Zhang Liang was hard before patch 1.05. I was so thankful because when you fight Lu Bu you know your able to beat him.
I love the boss nicknames 😂
Some day, we're going to get a game with From's boss encounters and Team Ninja's moment-to-moment combat, and we'll all be better off.
Hey! Have you considered covering furi from worst to best? Or have ever played it?
I agree with the easiest boss. My character is Wood Attribute, and by that point I was abusing the crap out of the massive Lightning spell at the end of the skill tree. Suffice to say, the figurative and literal turtling boss went down SO hard and easy to a few repeat casts of this massive aoe spell.
Oh wow, I've been waiting for a sale and ultimately skimmed through the video to find where the bosses I did fight in the demo were, but I'm surprised to see the tutorial boss at number 5 in difficulty. I'm not a pro gamer vet or anything (couldn't even get through nioh 1, which is why I'm on the fence for this game), but I found him to be really easy in the demo. Is it the same fight?
I was hoping for your opinion on the 3 on 1 gank side mission as that fight was bs, I know technological it wasnt a boss fight but they sucked, but agree on ayoe that one is probably my worst as I could never get his timings after the countless deaths
I had to summon all my parries for that 3v1 fight. That there was some ultimate cheese. Reminds me of the 3v1 from Dark Souls II. Which also wasn't fun.
Ohhhhh yeah, another bona fide Demod banger! 16 seconds in and I already am thanking the youtube gods for a wonderful start to my day ❤️
To quote Captain America from the first Avengers film: "There's only one God, ma'am. And I don't think He dresses like that!!" 😂
Funny how most of your mid and high tier bosses gave me little to no difficulty at all, but Taotie and Yu Ji's 2nd phase kicked my ass so many times. But yeah, Aoye and Lu Bu also kicked my ass and took some time to beat.
I think the other great thing about Lu Bu's difficulty step up is he's the first person that combos critical hits, even if you parry them. It was a real shock to parry a critical hit, start to launch an assault, only for him to bitchslap me with a "I wasn't done yet"
The larger hedgehog enemies were the first one to do that.
Its SUUUPER satisfying to get that second parry and take big chunk out of spirit
Actually, Man Mode will chain his reds once you get him to half health, as will a few of the base enemies like the hedgehogs with their spin dash attacks.
I'm so glad you made this. I actually agree with most of your placements, but I absolutely LOVE the Aoye fight. Yes, it's hard, but when you get it down it's just soooo satisfying. That being said, the level design for this game was awful and reminded me a lot of playing Code Vein. Maze level - boss .. Maze level - boss .. Maze level ... so on and so forth. I can't see playing through it again (much like DS2), but I enjoyed my first run through the game just enough.
Aoye singlehandedly forced me to learnt abusing elements and their ailments.
Apart from difficulty, Zhang Liao is my favourite boss in Wo Long.
What is crazy with the exception of Lu Bu and tutorial boss I one shot all the bosses in your top ten. Some of the others gave me trouble though.
i gotta say my first run with with 2 friends and some of the harder bosses were easier for us then some of the easier ones were more of a challenge. but then I did NG+ alone and that was vastly different lol
I really enjoyed this game. You can parry almost anything. There was a learning curve for sure, and I skipped every cut scene in game, but did 2 full playthroughs. I loved the combat the whole time! I can't wait for dlc
I don't think I've heard frustration from DeMod like when he was describing hairball lmfao
How can you possibly say in good faith that the last dragon boss is EASIER than like let’s say the monkey, or the pig, or like any of the other easy bosses. Like it’s not all that hard but third easiest? That just doesn’t really make sense
Not only in Wo Long, Lu Bu were famously known as someone who you should never fuck around in the warriors franchise
Hey man, when are you going to rank the Bosses from the RE4 remake?
The first boss took me 4 hours but now it’s going smooth. Reminds me of the Sekiro experience I had.
zhang rang was easily the favorite of any multi boss ive ever fought. i was honestly kinda upset when i beat him my first try. having the posture reduction bar being shared by all clones and even the real boss allows for some real shenanigans (just like the root blocked flag enemies). just spirt attack the clones when possible and keep track of the real one at all times and dive him every time his posture bar gets small enough. most his ranged attacks were surprisingly easy to dodge (just engage in doom tactics and never stop moving), everything else was interesting.
aoye was fiery hot garbage though... just boring, annoyance incarnate and hes in missions 5 times ,3 (i think) of which are required in the main path. even a post main mission where if you lose even once you have to fight him at a 3 morale disadvantage... patience beyond time and space is required
I loved playing this game disregarding the critic/hate towards it. I think the combat was super fun and interactive.
I think Blindfolding Boy, Ayoe and Liu bei is the hardest bosses in the game on NG+
Just started playing a few days ago and am at the flag outside Lu Bu. Lets see how thst goes. Deacons werent difficult for me. First tried that, but Aoye kicked my ass for a good minute...
New DLC Bosses Xu Chu, General of Heaven Illusion and Demonised Dian Wei are new formidable challenge. Almost everyday will have request from random players to help complete those missions
This is one of those comes where i finish it , i manage to beat a lot of bosses first try , even the harder 1 yet even by the end i still had no idea wtf is was doing or if i was even good at the game
This is what I love about gaming. Everybody is different. What your top 5 hardest were. Were actually my top 5 easiest.
What‘s with the last side mission boss „General of heaven illusion“ from the dlc? Cant beat this one…😬
Lu bu, the tutorial boss and aoye absolutely destroyed me in their boss fights XD
I died like 10 times on Lu Bu and then I killed all of the bosses with no death mostly. I love this game. Easier than Nioh, Sekiro and Dark Souls so I was not rage quiting once.
I might be one of the chosen ones to not lose their mind vs Aoye. Maybe it was my impression, but Toxin Weapon made it feel like an average boss, not the omegatank everyone makes it out to be.
Luck of the beginner's build I guess
im on Lu Bu right now.... the man is unbeatable i tell ya... i have litteraly no time to land a single attack without seeing him raise his axe to try and behead me i guess
I am not gonna lie my playthrough I did a light armor flame build with like no magic and just sword and damage enhancers mixed with my gear combo and doing bones spirit damage to burned enemies made all the bosses you couldn't burn a bit harder lol but still a lot of fun. I also don't think I ever used block lol 😅
All the elemental bosses save for the fire one do a absurd amount of damage and are so fast that deflecting then feels like spamming circle. I’d put both of the lightning ones in the top 3. Lu Bu was definitely the hardest and best boss in the game though.
YESSSSS. Any chance we'll get Resident Evil 4 Remake videos?
Yep! Finished the game today and starting work on the video
how do you reflect the magic attacks and shoot them back to them?
as in minute 03:02
This was my first Team Ninja game and now I want to finally go back and play Nioh 1 and 2, which seemed to be more well-liked than Wo Long. But overall I had a lot of fun with this game.
Wo Long basically has great ideas, but flawed execution. The difficulty is really well. It's not as rage inducing like FromSoft games but a fair challenge if you focus on deflect.
As someone who's decent on deflecting, I'm loving Wo Long bosses.
Lu Bu is the hardest and best boss.
The first boss is the second hardest, it's bonkers he is supposed to be the tutorial boss.
Really hoping with wo long release Demodcracy will go back and do the nioh 2 dlc bosses
Zhang Liang club man kicked my butt in the beta so much that I ended beat him on my first try when the game came out lol
Will you be doing Jedi survivor?
I really found this game fun to play! Haven’t played it in a while but I will be playing that dlc 👏
Comes out 29th of next month
