How to photograph the Northern Lights on a smartphone or Mirrorless / DSLR camera!

Are you experiencing some serious FOMO after seeing the huge number of Northern Lights photos after the unprecedented Aurora Borealis on the 10th May 2024?
In this vide I give you tips on how you can get your own images on the 11th May 2024 when we are expecting a similar opportunity to view the northern lights outside of the usual area - or indeed from within it in the future.
Whether you're using a smartphone, a brand new mirrorless camera or older DSLR you can get great images that you'll treasure forever!
I'm not an astrophotography expert but I did spend 10th May out at the top of a hill to get the best photos possible so hopefully what I learned will help you get your own great images!

The jumper hack! Never thought of it

There were about 10 minutes last night in which the colors all around me were vibrant green and pink. From a light-polluted backyard. Everett, WA, USA. I'm going to capture more images again tonight. This time, with more light weapons. Four full-frame Nikon cameras, a GoPro, and my iPhone. Preparing a bottle of red wine too. All cameras will take time-lapses so I don't have to worry about them and enjoy the show. Clear skies everyone and wish you an awesome show tonight!

It’s a shame day 2 wasn’t anywhere near as big as day 1 in the UK but so glad that you’ve had some amazing views in the US! Fingers crossed for later in the year or even this month
