Dreadbox has been making cool analog synth for a while. The Typhon is part of the group of cool synth. It is a table top analog synth with 2 Osc, 1 LPF 2 ADSR env, 3 LFO, 3 FX processors and a 32 steps sequencer! All running of a phone USB battery power pack!

Damn this sounds nice and I wasn't expecting the price to be what it is considering what I paid for the first Nyx (and ended up selling). I prefer Typhon

Waited a long time but finally purchased one of these. That USB think really ticked me off because I don't have a charger and I don't use a PC to make music. If you're going dawless as the kids call it you're in for a fun easteregg hunt for an adapter to use. Finally found a charger at walmart for under 5 bucks. Really wish they just put in a standard AC power unit and USB or at least USB with a wall socket power cable.

@@Nu-trix ha yeah I hope it's not a trend. BYOA (Bring your own adapter) is going to give me headaches. I like Dreadbox's stuff I had a NYX before but there's always something you have to fumble with but as you said it's a really great sounding little box.
Amazing sound. I have to send mine back though. Everytime I put it into external sync it will not revert back to Internal clock. No matter what I try. Wonder if anyone else came across this. Only way to solve is reinstall the update. Then happens again when go into external clock mode. Hopefully it's just mine.
Mine is unusable over USB into my Akai MPC X. the noise/hum is really loud. I have emailed Dreadbox but have had no reply.
Ordered one last night. Hope it arrives before Brexit.

@@AppAxis Oh yes, just slightly after the dumb Brexit, but must have been posted before it happened.
I have one, paired "MIDI thru" style with a JV 1080. Massive lead/atmosphere sound. Makes every session really memorable. Worth every penny. When bought, all you gotta do is only invest the time. It can be simple, it can be very complex, but the sound is par with top quality synths. Overall, hardly a better mono synth for bucks. Cheers!
What are you using the JV 1080 for in that setup? I was thinking about getting one used for some organ sounds, but may just use a tablet and app for that (already have a few mono/para synths and the BolyPoly, Nymphes arriving tmrw but interested in Typhon for effects mainly)

It all depends on your existing gear, the type on sounds you are looking to add to your set, how can you connect to it (CV, GATE, MIDI) and how much you get inspired by the device’s UI. I personally would go for the Typhon, but it’s just a personal taste/interest.
Hello dude! Have you managed to records MIDI CC automation with yours? Can’t get mine to write automation lane data in cubase!
