Would really love to see some implied breakdowns of these sites. They are master pieces ❤

Super inspiring. Makes me want to study animation to get that good at transitioning elements. They all went outside of the box but clearly kept to the fundementals.

This is art, not web design, powerful craftsmanship!

Great video Matt. If you are willing to take some feedback, I think that it would be interesting to viewers if you briefly explained how some of these are made, specifically which tools are used for it, if it's made native in webflow, spline etc etc

Great feedback, thank you. It's sometimes difficult to tell but that would definitely be helpful to know.

is it possible to create something like the second or fourth website in webflow? which software did they use to create it?
what did they use to incorporate the 3d or the cursor effect?

I checked and both Lusion and KPR are custom-coded. I think most of these are possible to make in webflow but you'll need low-code abilities to pull certain effects off. Half of these things are Lotties being played on scroll.

I think you've missed out on a noticeable commonality among the awarded designs here; the apparent usage of the (still yet) socially-disputed, debatable narratives -from the talks of culture and identity, to the environment- all are becoming more and more prevalent, and certainly the effects can also be felt in the awards.
Sometimes even with an approach of, unapologetically brash, somewhat awkward, takes; People have certainly lost their manner in recent years, for better or worse. If anything, the awards certainly helped to fuel more debates and discussions surrounding these, whether intentionally, or unintentionally.
Just pointing it out, so make of what you will with that.

Interesting designs, although the majority of these websites were heavily political and I wonder how much that had an influence on them winning an award, which unfortunately happens a lot with award giving organisations these days.

Could be. We like to focus on design here. Still lots to learn from these examples. ✌️
