Don’t feel bad. I have over 700hrs in and didn’t get how to use them correctly until now. also didn’t realize cuboids could snap to the other prefab rooms
You're kidding me... You can make something this awesome and I haven't even gotten around to base building yet after 50 hrs in? This game never ceases to amaze me! Wow!
You're better off just living on your freighter and building a 2x2x2 portal and storage hut on planets you want to quickly return to. The building in this game is half-assed like every other mechanic.
That is slick. My first attempt at building a base not long ago was awkward at best. I've absorbed enough design tips and approaches here to want to give it another go. Awesome video, thank you!
Hmm. My bases tend to be this 3x3 "grid" of cylindrical rooms, 8 of them have bio-domes ontop of them, the first one has a large refiner and a trade terminal, you go left from there which leads into a room with frost crystals growing, and then you go to the next room which has cactus plants. Go back to the large refiner and go straight instead of turning left, and the next two rooms have solarium plants, and then the final four rooms each have star bulbs. This makes 10-12 circuit boards per day which can all be sold for ~11-13 million units depending on how good the economy in the system is for slightly under 5 minutes of "work" per day. EDIT: This is best done near an electromagnetic hotspot, as you will need at least 3 EM generators to power this base, maybe 4 if it's only a rank C.
Pretty buggy on console but after replacing everything over and over, finally got the whole base down.I added my own twist to it.Good vid,the step by step tutorial made it super easy to build.
I concur, I tried to go all out on the cylindrical pre-fab rooms, and I see now that the cuboid rooms and those components need to get some love on my next attempt.
I pretty much recreated this I did have to make a few changes to suit my style mostly color options just have a few tweaks to take care of and finish the last 2 rooms decor and I should have this one all finished up. Thanks for the video I might take on that intermediate build next.
Just started diving into base building. I accidentally deleted my storage and lost all my materials. I reloaded and built a small place but then the game crashed! Been frustrating so far but hopefully can get the hang of it. Cool base!
I have a red version of that ship you have in the background and I've been looking for that color forever. I finally just assumed it didn't exist but now you've reignited my search. Also good video
This is Mac level bro nice work. I was looking for a tutorial because I noticed some of the pieces do not actually snap together and its kinda confusing for a new guy as to where to go or how to get that look that you want. While this didnt really do that it showed what is possible with these pieces. So Thanks for that. Nicely done.
I spent 3 days looking for a earth like planet just to build this plus I was wanting to find a earth like planet because I hadn’t seen one at the time lol anyway it’s a good build just finished now and is great thanks for the tutorial!

Hey Dawe, what kind of tutorial are you looking for? Base building doesn't have much to get started, just salvaged data and materials. Would you like to see how to get different materials through farming/mining/refining?
@@SpoonFPS I mean sure that would be great :) as i said i got the game like 3 days ago and for now the game only causing headaches to figure things out haha :D (Also maybe some help with teleports ? Is it posssible to teleport to a custom location ? like i saw custom coordinates but dont know how and where to use them )
Custom locations for teleports are done by building a base and placing down a teleporter, then you can freely teleport to and from that location providing you have power to it. You don't need power to teleport to that teleporter but you do need power if you want to teleport FROM there. If you are looking for co-ordinates on planets there are 2 easy ways to get them. If you open your analysis visor and hold it up on the right hand side there will be an info box showing you the planetary co-ords for where you are. The other way is by flying in your ship in first person view there will be a screen inside the cockpit on the left hand side down low displaying your current position.
@@Dawe9696 you can unlock access to huge teleporters. It takes awhile but isn’t too complicated. At space stations there will sometimes be one alien that isn’t from any of the three common races. They will be a traveler and they will point you to a grave. You go there and get a glyph and once you get all 16 you get access to the teleporter, also you have to find one. I haven’t found one yet lol.

Where do I get the cylindrical base from?
I can never find a flat spot to build on! 🤪
do you have a nice freighter base layout?
Damn damn DAMN fine work!
The landing pad has been giving me a lot of problems trying to connect it to the curved corridor. Do you have any idea how to fix this?
I'm gonna leave out the left side of the base and just connect the landing pad to the cylindrical room
