Yes, I love playing top tier, Jets and Leopard 2. But i'm no longer player War Thunder. I'm pretty busy with life right now and haven't got much time to grind. So, I just play games like Valorant where you don't have to grind to unlock vehicles.
i have a gtx 660 3gb, 8gb ddr3 ram, intel i5 3470, and a asus p8b75 motherboard, ive been playing 30-20 fps on most of games i play, seeing the benchmarks for this card makes me want to buy it even more, im upgrading my graphics card to gtx 1060, and the ram to 16gbs, will their be any compatible issues that i should be aware of before purchasing?
I suggest you try to get the 6GB version of the GTX 1060, make sure to have a compatible power supply. Most 1060s requires 6 to 8 pin connector, any decent 500W power supply should have that. Other than that you should be good to go.
hey, i was using i5 3570 with zotac gtx 1060 3gb until a month ago. all i can say, the GPU kind of get bottlenecked a bit but not much.

VRAM is an issue sure but the GPU performance is already low enough to where the detail settings need to be dropped down to get reasonable frame rates. Basically all 3gb vs 6gb does is make you change a few detail settings like textures. The 1060 6gb is better but still not powerful enough to run modern games at ULTRA detail anyway. Doom Eternal is a game that says you don't have enough VRAM but if you simply use custom settings and adjust 1 setting at a time you can quickly see the VRAM counter go up and down to tweak a game to get within VRAM spec. If you can get a 1060 3gb for close to $100 right now in this bad market it's a great gaming card for 1080p 100fps. Just accept the 1060 doesn't have the GPU horsepower to hang with modern titles so get ready to compromise in game settings to achieve desired frame rates. I bought one for $90 this last summer and it filled the roll for a secondary PC around the house perfectly. I just yesterday took off my crazy MK26 aftermarket cooler off a R9 290 as I am getting ready to sell it with stock blower cooler. I dropped this 320watt TDP cooler on this mini 1060 3gb and I tested it with Fortnite and temps didn't go over 38c compared to 78c with stock cooler. :) It will now stay in my wife's PC as she only games with us on rare occasions. Funny part is it's pushing a 3440x1440p 60hz panel. I can still get 60fps from it with lowered game settings.
Yes, The GTX 1060 3GB will definitely still has its use cases. For the right price, it's still pretty good. That's a pretty cool, literallyz, the change with the cooler, 38°C at load? that's impressive.

Hey man, unfortunately I do not know the size of the Thermal Pad used in the GTX 1060, or if there is even a thermal pad. I tried to search on the internet but I wasn't able to find anything about it. Though I found this Teardown of the GTX 1070 which has a similar cooler and Shroud, and it doesn't seem to be using any thermal pads.

why does your rdr2 medium only average at 41fps? i have mine at medium stable 60fps and im just using ryzen 3
It really depends on where you are at the map, I tested it using the benchmark mode of RDR2, and those are the numbers that I got.

The GTX 1060 isn't being produced anymore as far as I am aware, since it's a 5 year old card. So, you'll most likely see used. I recommend you get the 6gb model. I've done a revisit on that. If you want to take a look.

Depends on the game. If the GTX 1060 3GB is not Vram limited it's better than the GTX 1650 4GB.

3600 is prob one of the best cpu right now on a budget intel does have better options like a i5 10th which can offer better fps on certian games, but you would need the right motherboard so if you are only compatible with amd 3600 with a 1060 is a solid rig
