Hi Miller, just wondering if you ever got around to making a review of the cirrus. I"m interested in buying the new one (red), but have heard that it's not the best plane for beginners, and I'm wondering why. If you have some real world observations/tips for this plane, I would really appreciate it! Thanks =)
@@marcellowithtwols well I’ve done a review and what I’ve thought about the old blue one but would it be your first plane?
@@millerrc5829 it would be my second hopefully. I started with the apprentice S2, then got a turbo timber and carbon cub S2, destroyed them both because either they don’t do low speed as well as the apprentice or the battery drained as I was trying to land. Those two models really drop out of the sky unless you got a good amount of throttle and speed. The timber had an overheating ESC recall so I was able to get a refund, but the carbon cub is now just a pile of spare parts lol. I’m looking for another reliable 2nd plane, tho I still consider myself a beginner as I tend to fly in Safe still.
@@marcellowithtwols I’ve never flown a timber of any kind, nor a carbon cub and will never do so. I’m not familiar with those planes, I’ve flow similar planes and I can honestly say if your comfortable flying those you can handle the cirrus no problem. I’m not aware of what they changed on the new one but here is what I would do different on the blue one. Servo gears are fragile on V1 I would replace all of them on any bnf or pnp plane from horizon. my experience with there stock servos are not pleasant. On V1 the motor setup is not ideal it’s a scale flying plane not a high performance plane but you would only get 7min on a 2700 and the motor would come down hotter than I would like. I would change the motor to a lower kv. The nose gear as with any tricycle landing gear after a few hard landings or just general use is going to get sloppy and can be an issue sometimes. But all that aside I think your just fine flying the cirrus it’s not a hard plane to fly.
@@marcellowithtwols here is the review on the old one I did way back in the day ua-cam.com/video/t5gkxEovQwk/v-deo.html.
A review would be great. Thank you!
