It's more likely from the Latin "cantare," which remained more or less the same in Italian (though the pronunciation is definitely different.) Also gave us "chant" via French.
So I’ve not actually noticed before but the blades on them are actually on the backside of the Cantare that’s a really nice touch that I’m sure most people either won’t see or won’t connect to how they work aka doing there damage when you call them back to you.
@@theunhingedgamer3762 if synth charge was allowed to be useful it'd cause a rift in space time odd that it even works though? the reload isn't the last shot in the mag exactly

Unironically, it's kind of a shame you haven't tried out Magnum Force or any punchthrough mod. Despite the weapon's innate 1.4 punchthrough (which is why the passive triggers sometimes even if you hit the enemy directly), having even more punchthrough guarantees the hit of several enemies at once with the passive. Same going for Magnum Force, which increases both the damage and reduces accuracy (creating a spread for the modded-in multishot, resulting in a sort-of crowd control/AoE weapon based around direct hits rather than explosions). Both, especially when combined, lessen the awkwardness of the weapon relying on the return passive (which sometimes refuses to register at all, despite the projectile visibly returning through an enemy). Also, due to the weapon not being limited by an ammo pool or recharge rate. you can slap the weapon on a high firerate/reload speed build (like those on Gauss and Harrow) and enjoy the slaughter, even more so with the ammo efficiency helminth ability.
Consider using Synth Charge! As long as you run out the magazine instead of reloading manually, ALL of the returning blades actually get the damage bonus
Love all the new weapons. They’re all strong, have fun unique stuff that just works, you don’t have to go out of your way to use them like some weapons, and they help to passively buff your team mates. And I’m also just happy that we finally have another frame with a full kit of signature weapons. The only other one is Gara, which I’ve always felt was a missed opportunity.
these kind of weapons are why i always love coming back every update even if im not playing to see what kind of funny things that they come up with. with how the reload triggers so many status, i wonder how well it works with blast, especially considering the majority of the good damage is on the reload part, so its a primier on throw and detinator on reload.
You pronounced it correctly! I thought it was pretty obvious that it's a Latin word, but I saw a video where someone said "the cant-air, or cant-arr, I don't know which one is correct."
I think punch through will work with this. This way you can just throw the daggers at enemies and not worry about positioning to ensure you hit them back again, so I think Corvex's will be a good warframe for this
That does look like fun. I'm glad DE was just trying Some Shit with Jade's weapons coz they all just seem like they'll be great all-rounders to fall back on.
I very much misunderstood how the 300% crit chance thing worked when I first read the description and was quite pleasantly surprised when I figured it out. My setup runs the Carnis mod instead of Lethal Torrent to skew the status spread back towards Slash and break 90% status chance, makes things just evaporate.
4:59 PSA for newer players watching this: Please be careful when trading large amounts of platinum for nothing! Counterfeit platinum is a thing and some no-good players will try to offload it to other players to hide it. When DE bans the no-good player, they will also take away the counterfeit plat and send your plat into the negatives. You can't play until you resolve that negative balance through buying plat.
I bounced off these hard. Just leveling them up I simply could not get the return gimmick to work half the time. The projectiles appear to be *pinpoint* size and despite looking like I was at the right angle, I'd just get my knives back and nothing else. I also just couldn't get them to to respectable damage to my usual testing group. I found myself switching back to my primary and just...never thinking about the Cantare at all after.
With good Punch Through, perhaps via Qorvex's passive, this could become even easier, as you'd just fire a salve through the enemy, and then recall the knifes to annihilate them completely. Definitely worth a test I think. 🤔
The only potential issue I have with the Cantare is this looming dread that they're going to do what they did with the Catabolyst, where they remove the auto reload on empty because of it's unique mechanic. On the Catabolyst it makes more sense because it's a one-and-done kind of thing (although I still wish pressing the fire button when out of ammo would trigger the reload for the grenade so its more intuitive), but for something like the Cantare it would ruin the rhythm of it. Sure, with the auto reload if you're attacking an enemy at a distance, the last knife may not reach before getting recalled, but thats only a very minor loss of damage for the QoL of just being able to throw and return rapidly.
... How would these be with Qorvex? His passive gives them even more punch-through to guarantee your knives go through everything and embed as far back as possible, his 2 lines things up to get hit all at once, and strips armor with the augment. Is this anything? Probably not anything stronger than using his 4 in those situations, but like. Maybe??
Try using the primed reload mod along side the radiation mod. With secondary encumber and the ferox wraith with its amalgam mod to increase fire rate for secondary weapons. I rum steel path and these are my favorite as they melt everything. And because of secondary encumber you can use them with any elemental shard like the green shard for extra corrosive or the extra gas dmg.
One mild cautionary point I'd make, if you're not Inaros (or similar) and can't sit (mostly) still in the right place facetanking enemies, these are gonna be 10x harder to use effectively Ranking/building them up on Jade herself (a would be shield tank, but without DR when not in her exalted) in any kind of higher content was kind of painful lol
Each of them individually are quite nice, but then when you want to get Ensemble going it’s quite a chore (to me at least). Synth Charge works absurdly and I reckon it isn’t intended to work with the returning blades on reload.
Try with a gauss redline build this thing would go crazy, these new weapons are a ton of fun, but if u want the best of the best meta weapons then the harmony would be the main one u go for

Have you tried malignant force to have use of the negative accuracy to spread the multishot and the daggers to spread and return so they could hit more enemies?
You would kinda hope it'd stick INTO the enemies themselves and you'd pull it back dealing damage to them and then everything in a line immediately if you're accurate. But I guess this is sorta ok.
why not throw in some magazine size tho? pretty sure theres a dual stat cold damage + magazine capacity mod for pistols... coulda used that instead of frostbite. more knives = more crits right?
Im running heat viral with cascadia flare and damage is spicy even with no priming at all and im running seeker for aditional PT so weapon is more reliable in double hiting enemies And if you using energized munition if you have less than 4 ammo each blade returns instantly like what

There is some waclkyness with energized minition - if you go to 3 ammo on single cast projectiles start instantly returning

I tried with Magnum Force and from my experience it isn't really worth it, sadly
Synth Charge applies to the reload, it noticeably boosts the damage.
