@@ThePapa1947 it took some sanding and trimming to get the geometry right. I plan on making a bigger one that is a little more precise and figure out the geometry a little better. Thanks for watching Gary!
Neat little toy. There was a time when some kids would've been fascinated with that toy. My granddaughter is 10 going on acting like 20. They dont appreciate very much anymore. Especially when thats a fascinating toy.
We watch a little girl who is just over 1 yr. She will bypass all the fancy plastic toys and o for the home made wood toys every time. So fun! I also have found that the young teens love to spin tops. They actually put their phones down to try it!
@@BAILEYWOODWORKS That's great! Getting them to put their phone at anytime is a miracle. My ex wife (yuck) gave my granddaughter a phone. My son had a fit with her. Wont put it done. Phones are like credit cards to me. Life savers at times. An killers also. I'm glad you had such great luck on that. God bless you for it.
That's a superb and mesmeric little toy Chris. Did you work out the proportions yourself or just eyeball it? Cheers mate. Oh and I love the choice of music.
I used a website that I put in the description. You might know ThePapa1947? Gary, sent me a link to a website where they had all the dimensions. It is tricky though.
@@ApacheJay156 it could be the fence.. to add to that, I had the same problem. Even very thin stuff. I asked someone and they said make sure the blade back rollers, top and bottom, are set a paper's thickness from the back of the blade and both exactly the same. And, put a new blade on. I did both of those and have had very good luck. I have been ripping 2x4s the hard way lately very straight.
Nice one Chris. Might have to check the attic to see if we still have the ones I made our kids.

@@BAILEYWOODWORKS Ah yes, I think everyone with a lathe knows Gary!
How do you make such long straight cuts with the bandsaw? Every time I run something against the fence on mine it drifts all over the place.
Sounds like your fence needs adjustment for drift...
Check out Alex Snodgrass's Band Saw Clinic for how to set up your saw and fence!
