Well thats a weird flip. Normally Im denied entry with my service dog IN a restaurant and told to sit out on the patio. Not the other way around

I was going to say that. Normally there’s no issue.

yeah...you can deny standard dogs and emotional support dogs, but places cant deny actual service dogs. they are considered medical devices. they help us navigate life

Some businesses CAN deny service dogs.

Correction, no business can deny any type of service animal regardless if it’s an emotional support animal or service animal. If it is a trained and licensed to do a job it is doing a task that requires them. Disabilities come in all shapes and sizes and some are not visible. Also ADA requires you can only ask two questions:
Is this animal a service animal?
      What task does it perform?
It is against the law to ask for any identification for the animal or ask them to provide identification. This is classified under the discrimination law. Now some states still do not recognize emotional support animals as service animals. But as long as they are licensed, trained and performing a job that requires them to be present with the individual for their safety and health it is protected by the disabilities care act. They are protected as required medical care.

@@Momof2_91 Absolutely wrong. ANY business CAN deny emotional support animals, they have NO public access rights. You ARE wrong.

No violation, they did not refuse service. Businesses are required to provide reasonable accommodation. They are not required to do everything the customer asks.

      Wrong.
They r required by law to provide equal access and service to service dog teams.
By denying her to sit where she legally is allowed to and wants to, they denied her equal access/service.
      They broke the LAWS.

Service dogs are allowed by law into any space normally used by patrons, the patio fits the description, as does the bathrooms and the inside dining area. The kitchen/food storage does not, they can refuse any entry back there. That is the difference you seem to be struggling with here.

Absolutely wrong. They must give her the same rights as every other customer.

By law...they HAVE to ACCOMODATE her as her guide dog is a a medical extension of her health! You MIGHT WANT to go back and LOOK over the federal laws when it comes to ACCOMODATING people with disabilities. You MIGHT LEARN something!!!
